Sometimes vinyls are listed on ebay that are basically like a prototype or made incorrectly and are thrown away, then are stolen from the trash and put on ebay. At least this is what I understand is whats happening. That's how some unreleased, never before seen items appear on ebay such as Mascot Pluto, and Park 9 Dole Whip.
However, in regards to the Rapunzel, that is probably from the seller that somehow got a hold of several cases of 25th Anniversary light up as well as Furry Friends. He sold them on ebay a few weeks ago; so far it isn't known how he got them however it doesn't appear to be illegal since he hasn't been shut down as of yet and everyone received their items.

The 25th vinyls that were available on eBay before they came into store don't have any glitter around the vinyls. So if you're looking to trade for or buy them then you need to ask the person if it has glitter on it or not so you don't get a scrapper

Most of them come from Hong Kong and are advertised as "used and loose". Occasionally you'll see the sellers mix up the heads and bodies from different designs. The worst thing is that there are some people in the US who are buying them specifically to sell on in the US.

Ah, the joy and benefit of doing business in China.
Just to update the thread as it seems that some counterfeit vinylmations have made it onto the market. Mainly Park 1 balloon and kermit. Very sad as unless you have a real one to compare you really wouldn't know!!
