We all have eclectic tastes I am sure. and there are the typical collection theme's out there...

Typical:

  • Attractions
  • Characters
  • Movies

My non typical collection:

  • Pink Pirate
  • Hydra (yeah a character, but who collects hydra, but not the rest of hercules?)

I have heard of people collecting certain characters in only certain positions/situations, like tink sitting, or stitch with the red cruiser....

What odd, different, bizzaar, or unusual theme do you collect?

Don't be shy! tell us!!!!

I don't think any of mine are really all that unusual...

I collect Administrative Professionals Day pins, 'cause I am one. This includes the ones from when they called it Secretaries' Day, and also any that just like like they go with the theme (Minnie Mouse Businesswoman, White Rabbit Time Clock, etc.) I have a lanyard with them hanging next to my desk at work. :)

I've been thinking about starting a Friday the 13th collection, 'cause Friday the 13th is nearly always a lucky day for me.

I like crows & ravens, so I collect pins with the raven from the HM, and Maleficent pins only if Diablo is on them... no Diablo, then I don't want her. Might make an exception for the Designer Villain pin. :) (Oddly I don't care for the crows from Dumbo.)

And Mickey-head icon pins that are the icon made out of food. (They just crack me up.)

Typical:

  • Ursula / Vanessa
  • Kingdom Hearts

My non typical collection:

  • Pudge (started out as just Pudge with PB&J, but then I realized there were only a few so it became just Pudge)
  • Stitch dressed in human clothing
  • Pretty much any heavily underrated character (I wanna get that one pin of Charlotte)

Rajah (and the occasional Jafar pin that catches my eye)

And I would like to collect Meeko but I only have one lonely little raccoon. Poor thing lol.

Max, goofys son. i didnt even know there were pins of him! cool!!

and gnomes... you must love the gnomeo and juliet pins!

one lonely raccoon... I have one lonely hydra. But I will get the rest! one day!!!

I overheard at PTN that someone collects stained glass pins! I thought it was very unique! Or was that on here?

Also someone that collects things located in the park. Well only in a certain way. They have to be stand alone, like if you could place them in a picture and it would fit in.

I met a collector years ago that only collected round pins. Didn't matter the Disney subject matter, just needed to be round.

My best friend has some Hydra pins, Pixie, but she collects Hercules. I like that you collect them - definitely unique! :)

yeh, I can relate to that, I dont like anything square, it has to be round, it extends to everything in my life, and it has certainly influenced alot of my pin choices!

Other than that, I like to collect Pascal, Pegasus, Centaurs, Pablo.

The only traditional category I collect is the movie The Rescuers.

The non-traditional categories I collect are:

1) Pins with translucent, transparent, or opaque color areas that have a textured image underneath the translucent section, such as http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=40547&sid=4747.1350600840.v2 (the pattern on the leaf is actually imprinted on the metal, and the beautiful blue cloisonne on top of it is translucent/opaque) and http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=28575&sid=4872.1350601125.v2

2) Older pins that are actually real glass cloisonne, instead of the epoxy that has been used since the beginning of pin trading. I think only the pins that pre-date "official" pin trading are glass. Here are a couple of examples: http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=635&sid=4872.1350601125.v2 and http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=904&sid=4872.1350601125.v2

3) Pins with cacti (very, very small number in that group!)

4) For their exceptional production quality, Disney Auction pins and Disneyland Paris pins

5) Some stained glass pins, like http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=20375&sid=4872.1350601125.v2

6) Art Deco/ Art Nouveau pins, likehttp://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=30948&sid=4872.1350601125.v2 and http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=31088&sid=5145.1350601862.v2

The categories are a bit unusual. When other traders ask & I tell them, usually the conversation ends there for some reason! :)

you're all bunch of freaks!!! lol

i collect all 50 animated feature films and they are all keep in their own movie book (dont ask)

BUT i also have a black and white collection, pre-2000 pins as chowdmouse cause i like how they feel and a silly symphonies collection which is one of my favorites!

They must love all the best friends and villain/hero mystery boxes!

Not to mention the Beloved Tales and most of the Elisabete Gomes pins (pricey collector it seems).

yeh, I can relate to that, I dont like anything square

I'm similar to that. It's not that I don't like anything square, but I detest anything framed, pins that look like they are pins of photos or things like that...

A friend of mine likes Stitch pins - but only if his mouth is closed :)

He has an adorable tongue though...oh well, I guess that tongue can't win them all xP

My main collection is the Princesses. So its a rather mainstream collection. I do like collecting the rainbow pins so that is unique? Kind of?

Do you collect anything and everything princesses or only specific types, like glitter or something else?

My mains: Lion King, Brave, PatF, Home on the Range,

Ridiculous collection: Cupcake/sweets, Cats in general (shere khan, sai and am, figaro, dinah, bageera, and who ever else.)

Mimis mains: NBC, Dumbo, Tink, Princesses

Ridiculous Collection: Black and White Only Mickey/Fab five (Or like old school looking FAB five on newer pins. She says they have to be nicely detailed.) And NBC pins they are holiday themed..like they show presents or pumpkins or easter or something other then jsut characters
