Ok so I had someone get me a lion king podm pin after 5 weeks I finally get it and I have a picture here of what I got I have questions after the picture....

Now the lion king pin is on a Fantasia card this person told me they bought it at the store like that so my questions are does it effect the value if I were to trade it or sell it later? Plus what are the odds of this really happening, I could see if it was on a steamboat card something recent but Fantasia? Now with this picture I can see an air bubble I'm assuming they are pretty common.....
 
I saw a couple of other people post here on DPF right after the release that this happened to them as well, with ones they bought direct from Disney, not that they got from someone else. They didn't notice 'til after they'd left the store. (I forget who it was but the posts should still be around.)

Don't know how it will affect trading though...
 
The pin value, with the incorrect backer card, is going to vary from trader to trader. Traders who specifically trade with backer cards only will likely pass or devalue the pin. Traders who don't care about backer cards will trade no matter whether there is a card or not. They focus on the pin and the scene.

Worst case is that, without the backer card, your potential trade pool has been narrowed to those who don't care about backer cards.

Yea, I saw one or two other people who had the Fantasia backer card after getting their pin. Very weird. I think they said they went back to see if they had any cards but by then all the PODMs were out so no deal.
 
I think it would be kinda cool to get a mistake pin like that! I personally don't care if its on its original card or not, but i know some people do.
 
So the deal was that some of the Lion King cards were so damaged that they had to be sold on Fantasia cards instead. I saw a bunch the day they were released. People were even trading cards because some were so damaged. Just so you know.
 
BlessedByFive, to elaborate a bit, there is a filmstrip cel from the movie in the middle, it's hard to tell from this picture. It's a very popular monthly series that DLR and WDW share. If you look them up on Pinpics, you can see all of them (they started in 2011, and Disney is doing the series this year, but I've read here that this is the final year they're running the series).
