I would love to set up a team to do the CHOC walk at DLR. CHOC = Children's Hospital of Orange County :)

Walk is in Oct. so lots of time. My thought is that we could show sum support to disney and also let them know we are not just crazy pin people but we can get together for other reasons to.
So here is my thought. i am doing this post just to see how many ppl will come read it and how many will give a little of there time to help sum kids that need us very much.
I really hope and prey that mayb we will see its not just about pins and that we can all pull together for a good reason.

Of course we are interested in CHOC walk. our little girl goes there soooo much and their craniofacial team is awesome!

You get the process started, find out details like money needed for sponsorship and how many people etc... Then post a real thread with a real title about it so we can start this thing going. :) ((We are getting ready to move so I cant promise time to devote to organizing right now, but can help later with it))
 
not bad 4 ppl to read in a few mins.. i wish i could get that when it says need help for kids on the post. lets see how close we come to 2k or 4k. those took 1 or 2 days. cuz they were about sumthing importiant unlike helpping others. lol $$$ and my need for pins will come first.:facepalm:
 
I usually do the walk every year with my family, so most likely I'll be there already. Does that count? lol ;) But yeah, I'd totally be down to form a group. :)
 
50 views so far... wow i should use drama for all my post. thank you to every one that has said they will help. I will bring back a old post that asked for help. it will b funny to see how many ppl viewed it last year...

If you can provide further details on dates and such, I will make an effort to join. It is a walk right? Because if there's running involved, I need to get training in order to start :lol:
 
Hahaha I think this was pretty clever ;) While I think this is a stellar idea, I can't commit to anything solidly that far in advance. October tends to be kind of a busy month for me for personal reasons. However, I will definitely keep the thought in mind and check as the date draws closer ! I'm certainly not opposed to it and think it's a great idea! Good luck getting more people on board for a good cause :like:
 
sweet. thank you. Its a walk in the park at disneyland. It helps kids. All the money stays in orange county and is used to help kids that cant aford there med needs. The walk is not till Oct and i will b more than happy to set it up for us all. I really think its a good way to show disney we are good ppl and we do care about other things besides pins. I will make us a team shirt and we will all show up and walk as one group of dpf members. If by chance we do not get this going as a DPF team this year. I will make my own team and use my clothing co. name on or shirts insted of DPF. This will b the 3rd year i am tring to get ppl to do this. So now im going to walk with or with out DPF. Of corse i would rather the first. Come on DPF. Show that u care. We are not all mindless pin hunters.

I did the walk a few years ago with my sister and parents, probably a year or two after our mother had a heart attack (and triple bypass surgery). It was great and fun!

I have no problem participating again (in the walk). It's typically on a Sunday in October. 2nd full week (so it could be the 2nd or 3rd Sunday). In 2012, it was on October 14th

Maybe we can have a team named "Disney Pin Forum"? Every team member has to raise $50 in order to participate but that shouldn't be too difficult!
 
Although I can't do the walk, I'm definitely willing to donate to the cause ... and maybe even offer some pins to the DPFer/CHOC walker that gets the most donations??? Hmmm ... will give this some serious thought! So Kory ... "If you build it, they will come" ... :eek2:
 
nice ideas and lots of time to make it all work. thanks everyone.. not 1k or 3k views yet but 300 is 3 times better than last year :P
 
If I lived there I would walk but sadly I am many many miles away from Orange County CA. I think it would be a blast though to walk around DLR for a great cause. maybe everyone can wear their lanyards and trade with people as they walk around ;)
