D23 Members Help Please

Hello! Anyone who is a D23 member and would be willing to help me out, please either reply here or PM me please!

I have a few questions regarding D23...

Is it worth getting the D23 membership? It is kind of pricey... are the benefits worth it?

What is your experience with being a D23 member?

And I am having NO luck trading for the D23 Fox and the Hound pin, and I would like to avoid buying it on Ebay. My computer still shows that it is available for sale on the website... Is anyone willing to help me out?

What is D23?

D23 is the official Disney fanclub. You pay for either a silver or gold membership. (Gold is kind of a waste, silver is fine.) Silver is around $40 after taxes. I just recently signed up myself but the biggest benefit I noticed thus far are the days we get to go to WDI and shop at Mickey's of Glendale. By far the coolest and best pin buying experience. Tons of LE200 or LE300 pins, many marked down to $5, exclusive merchandise usually only for the Imagineers. Grab bags of pins.
I haven't been yet, but the huge D23 event is a big deal. Lots of pin releases there too. Also, the parks always have a D23 pin you can only buy with a D23 membership card.
The only thing about the gold membership is you get a magazine and a freebie item inside. Usually something like stickers, patches, maybe a pin, maybe a postcard. They sell these magazines at WDI trips, or at least the one I went to.

Well dang, I would love to be a member, but who knows when I will be able to make it to one of the parks, so, not sure if it is worth it?

You can only go when D23 goes which is like 3 or 4 times a year and from 8am to 2pm that day.

There are also special pins and merchandise that are only sold at the D23 events at the Burbank Studios OR at the Destination D events.

What is WDI and what is Mickey's of Glendale? I've never heard of either of them. Where are they located?

Yeh i want in on the info! can the folks up top that PM'd Jay 222 or jay222 copy and paste your feedback and opinions here also. I am a NJ girl and go to WDW about 5 times a year (God willing) so i wonder if it pays when youre on the East coast ???

I belong to D23 the magazines are nice and the special gifts inside are neat sometimes, if your flexible in your travel plans you can sometimes hit some special events. We went to an event in NYC we were also lucky enough to do the D23 scavanger hunt which was 2 days long and took you to all 4 parks it was hard and hot!!! They have events around Christmas time which sound pretty cool I tried to get tickets a few years ago but they sold out quick. If you need any more info just pm me and I can fill you in on more.

So D23 is only worth if you live near parks then right because I only go to Disneyland a couple times a year. Or can you buy over the phone with membership ?

You can buy stuff online they have pins and hats and shirts they have a vinylmation and other stuff you can buy. They have a website that you can check out all their up comming events. If you refer people you can get special referral pins.
