Just to give some clarification here.

I was a Sorcerer's Package Ticket. And, yes, I got more than one set. In fact I got a set each day they were available to me. Everyone here would have done the same thing if afforded the opportunity. But also keep in mind, even as a Sorcerer Package person -I had to be in line at 5:00 AM every morning to assure that chance.

I did not personally buy more than one set -you could only buy one set per day. They did enforce that.

Could you get other Sorcerer Package people to get you one -yes, that is correct. I think people’s disdain is misplaced. It was the people borrowing vendor tags (not real vendors) who tried to sneak in line.

I watched a well-known Ebayer (with a borrowed Vendor tag) hand $500 cash to strangers to get her a set (she got 4 that way until Security finally made her move). She shouldn’t have been in the building.

What also didn’t do people any favors was a certain group –that claimed to be going to the Arena and ran to the Disney Store instead…all rule breakers…all cut the line. Luckily they were forced to stand at the wall.

There was only 50 Sets Total on Thursday. They ran out quickly. Sorcerer's complained to not get a set. Which is how we knew we could come back the next day for more. They TOLD US TO. They said -you want more..come back...you didn't get a set..come back.

The second day, Friday was 50 sets.

Third Day Sat -100 sets (some were told 150...I don't believe it, as they sold out when I was in the store..and I was #2).

Sunday..none.

I believe the ones on Disney Shopping were either one of two things: 1) Unclaimed Wristband Sets - there were about 12-20 because there was confusion over the different colored wristbands, so most people took every one, even not knowing what they were for. Hence unclaimed sets; and 2) it could have been the 50 scheduled for Sunday -that never appeared.

Again, I am inclined to think that the Shopping ones at midnight were 50 from Sunday. Just my 2 cents.

Now..back to us greedy Sorcerer's... no one here can truly say they would have not tried for more, given the opportunity. I don't want to hear how greedy I am, for getting what I was allowed to do. I did not break any rules..I didn't even line up prior to the stated 5:00 AM Rule.

But keep in mind who/how you complain to. Sometimes Disney corrects these things in ways that are not always popular either.

As just an aside - Nathan/Wolvervine was AMAZING. He actually enforced order and was a truly trusted Cast Member. I for one, used to not care for him -but he changed my opinion with his strict, fair order policy at the Expo. I intend on writing a letter of compliment for him -as he kept his word in the process and did his best to make it fair for all with the rules he was given.

Oh..and just one more thing...

Keep in mind..if a reseller on Ebay has more than a few sets...do consider there are more possibilities than a single person got that many.

Many of the Sorcerer's package had spouses and friends with the ticket as well. Some even sponsored others for the event (not planning on the pins being nuts but other collectible possibilities)

It does not mean that ONE person got THAT MANY sets...it means they are selling that many sets from who and/for who knows how many others... I for one do have a set up for a friend along with my own.

There were a lot of people who may have started to blame the Sorcerer ticket holders, but ultimately came to the conclusion that Disney didn't have an inkling of how popular that Couples set was going to be and to what lengths people would go to obtain them.

Many are now talking about saving and getting Sorcerer tickets for 2015, as it seems that level of ticket holder has a distinct advantage over a regular or D23 member. At the end of the day, Sorcerer ticket holders only took advantage of an opportunity that was given by Disney.

The people who consistently cut and cheat are always going to try and take advantage by lying, cheating, and stealing their way to get what they want. Many of the people, in line, were very happy to see that Disney had learned from the previous day's fiasco and were actively removing those people from the lines, on Saturday.

I don't know if MarkHeardJr just gets the short end of the stick around here, but his story seems very plausible and may have been a victim of circumstance and was carried by a wave of rushing people into another opportunity to move forward into line. Unfortunately, many people will probably view that as him actively cutting the line. I don't know that anyone else would have not taken that opportunity, to be honest. I do know the girl who got elbowed and it would probably do a lot of good if Mark wanted to apologize and explain what happened. I don't know. I'm not her and I don't know if it would do anything to change opinions. It would be a nice thing to do though.

Overall, Disney just seems to have no idea about what kind of frenzy certain items can generate and are often ill prepared to deal with adults who continually manage to become "challenging" guests.

Diana is correct in stating that Disney's Nathan/Wolverine was quick to learn from the disaster of Friday and had things much better controlled, on Saturday. For all the complaints we had, Nathan/Wolverine and his staff deserve some praise for making a valiant attempt to keep the lines ordered and provide a fair chance for those who waited in line and didn't attempt to cheat or cut their way into the lines.
 
Mark, why are you attacking me?? I wasn't even talking about you even though I know you were trash talking me all over the place. You ended up way in front of us anyway. I came and joined my group a little later, I fully admit to that. I didn't lie. I was told it was okay though because they had told the people around them in line that I would be joining them and everyone said it was fine. You never asked me to go to the back of the line, and you also said that there were a lot of people ahead of us that were having entire groups cut. And yet you chose to trash talk ME all night. Stop attacking me. If you have an issue with me, then pm me or put me on ignore. But publicly attacking me on a forum is not appropriate.
 
heads up to everyone that sorcerer tickets are NOT easy to get. besides the price hurdle, they sell out immediately!

They sell out within 10-20 minutes and if you think we have problems with DS.com not working at midnight, I have heard that the website crashes a lot during the precious time you want to buy sorcerer tickets @ $1500 a pop.
 
At $1500 or whatever they are going to be for 2015, they can keep their tickets. I'm not spending that much money to have an opportunity to buy a $200 to $300 dollar item. All said and done, it's probably going to be $2000 pin set. My guess is that everyone is planning on getting as many sets as possible and becoming eBay sellers, to recoup their cost of the ticket.

They know, they spend millions and millions of dollars on marketing and research. They are the best in the business at it. They know that they could make a LE 1000 release of this set and still have it sell out in no time. They want to create the hype, that's what gets people in the doors. It's the only reason to release something like this when, in the grand scheme of things, it's pennies dropped on the ground on the profit charts.

People want to have that rare LE to make their collection feel more prestigious. It's how collecting works. People get the thrill of having that one item that hardly anyone has but everyone wants. It's what separates a collector's piece from a novelty piece. Why would Disney change? Every time an incident happens, everyone throws around accusations and swears off this hobby, yet everyone is back for the next chaotic release. We, the collector's are the ones responsible for this mess because we feel our collection has to have that release. So you get 500+ people that 'have to have it' and only 250 were made. They get those 500+ in the doors to spend money on something else after the 250 are sold out. They are never going to do any online draw or pre-registration for these types of things because it doesn't get people in the doors. Until we admit that there is no pin that we 'have to have', that our collection can be complete without it, this cycle will continue until pin trading fades away to the next hobby. For those that remember the Disney Auction days it was the same thing, and we would be screaming at our computers when that LE500 stitch was gone in 60 seconds (yes, Nicholas Cage bought them all, I heard he has 12 of the couple sets as well).

There is no pin that any of us 'have to have'. (Unless someone has the wedding pin in my signature and wants to talk, because I have to have it!) Now go get happy and go find that pin your collection would have been incomplete without from a year ago that you completely forgot about and haven't looked at in 6 months.
 
I don't think anyone is upset with Sorcerer Package attendees. Not at all. The frustration is aimed at the Disney Store for their sheer stupidity in allowing all of this craziness to happen.
 
Well, I know my order is NOT going through. I've accepted it. (Kind of). So, what is my next step????? I've told Santa Clause my order didnt go through at Disney. He knows its the ONLY thing on my want list. So now...... I have to wait how many months to see if he was listening??????? OMG! Lets keep our fingers crossed!!
 

The red head girl in the gray hoodie, I have never seen before. I did not know I was standing in the same vicinity as her. I had a backpack on and I put my hands in the straps of the backpack with my elbows tucked in as best I can to my side. That's how I always walk. If you walked into me, or some mob of 40 people pushed me into you, that's just what happens. A risk you're willing to take in a situation like that. If she was pushing me over trying to catch up to her friends you can count her with the 100 other people doing the same thing. I did no such thing on purpose. I did try to keep people from cutting once we re-established a single file line. There was no way but to do it. Security didn't care. A few times I would gesture to a security guard like "Do something" if she happened to be trying to cut from behind me and walked int my swinging arms, it wasnt' intentional. I wasn't looking behind me.

Can't apologize to someone that yells out to security guards that I basically sexually assaulted her on purpose? WTF? Her and her friends were dillusional. They weren't looking for an apology, they were looking to be rude. I did no such thing on purpose and certainly not for some sexual arousal. They all didn't like me because they didn't like I was counting the line order from like 11pm on. Her rude little friend told me not to count anymore and that Kim was #25 so I didn't need to walk passed them anymore. What? I'll walk and count whatever the heck I want to little girl. They were just acting rude for hours after that. Her little friend in the black beret. She's trouble and tosses a lot of attitude in every witch way at releases. (spelling error on purpose.) Everyone in front said there was no way that Kim was #25, she was closer to like 18. Not sure what those 10 made up spots were for, holding for cutters later I suspsected. They didn't like that. All I was doing was counting spaces once in a while. Lots of people do it. But her little friend can't help but run her mouth off.

I get too tired of being at a pin release by myself and watch my position in line just climb as people, like her friends and echo, who just non-chalantly waltz in front of me. Like it's ok. It's not. Be and adult and stand where you should. I have never cut in a pin line. People asked me if their friend could cut and I said no, it's not right. Cutting is so juvenile. You know you are wrong and yet you chose to chastize the person telling you as such. Grow up.

But it was all for naught anyways. We got inside and we saw 100+ people already in line. Then we saw more cutting and more friends pulling people ahead in line.

As a guy who's missed out on many releases because I refuse to cut I'm tired of it. Stupid people need to grow up. I've missed DSF Valentines Up pins, marquee's, PODM's, and others because of cutters. Sometimes it doesn't matter, but for me it has mattered. There is a victim, the person who doesn't get a set/pin. People need to cut it out.
 
@Tealke - I get the exclusivity of the pin set. I don't often understand, that if Disney knows what they are doing, is why they always seem so unprepared to managed the droves of people their perfectly executed marketing plan has generated? Security should be as tight as the proverbial drum and those who managed to wait patiently in line would be rewarded with a fair chance at the pin.

What often happens is that Disney throws everyone in a big pile and then drops a rope. Chaos ensues and then Disney wonders what happened and why are all these people incensed at what just happened. To call Disney the best at what they do would only apply if they intended to screw a whole lot of people out of something on a continual basis.

I think most of us are cool with having a fair chance and just not getting it. What drives people insane are the continual times where something begins as a fair chance and turns to a giant pile of manure, because someone screws something up in a major way. That just cries out that the teams are ill informed and make bad decisions. I heard that, on Friday, security basically gave up and allowed all the cutting; walking away and leaving the honest people to fend for themselves. That guy had a radio and an orderly line of people. He could have called his supervisor and explained that he had a situation and that all the people in the line that were not Sorcerer ticket holders or in the orderly line he was watching should be removed. Didn't happen. Bad execution. Didn't care enough to even call that supervisor on the radio.

Saturday was worlds better, but there were still issues all over the place. People cutting in through the Arena entrance, the normal cheaters and cutters butting into line, all sorts of managers and security getting distracted by angry and confused guests, pulling too many people into that line at once and doubling the line on itself (which lent too many opportunities for people to line cut), and overall general chaos with the amount of people in that line.

I believe they simply gave up, for Sunday, and told everyone that all the sets were gone. The way some people behaved, I don't blame them.

They are going to have to go with a lottery system, if they don't want to deal with that giant mess again and I'm fine with that. All anyone wants is a fair chance at getting these things. Which is why the price gouging, on the secondary market, drives people insane too. Most are willing to pay double or triple; but to pay the crazy amounts being asked? No way!
