So I've noticed a trend lately, mostly new pins have horrible to eh art contrary to their concept arts.

St. Patrick's Day Ariel: Not too horrible but definitely not what the picture promised.
Princess Carousel Pin Set: A few Hit and Misses here x.x
Disney Princess Jeweled Crest Set: Not too bad but the mouths look a little odd...
etc

But none stand out more than these two:

Is this Disney's way of punishing the scrapper sellers? Make them look so bad they're not worth scrapping? XD!

Don't forget the Rapunzel chocolate box pin and her invisible hand...

Not to mention that DSF's pins are pretty jacked up quality wise lately too. The Mulan marquee had black scuff marks all over them that didn't rub off. I had to exchange mine 3 times to get scuff free ones. Plus the PTD Esmeralda has a slight border on the back. Just looks... bad... I dunno. I get the impression that lately Disney is like, "Who cares? They'll buy it anyway..."

I would complain more about the reuse of artwork everytime a new film comes out. We see the same pin or artwork from 3 or 4 different outlets. Parks, DSF, WDI, UK, Paris, DS.com, all share the same approved artwork. Let's have artwork special for each from now own! I mean, is Disney that short on graphic designers? I've heard stories of like 30+ people in Camarillo that just design stuff all day for the merch department.

^This too. Really aggravating. The newer pins are ESPECIALLY guilty of this. Rapunzel, Brave and even WIR. I was like "What the heck...?" that they basically used the DSF Vanellope pin in the Sugar Rush set.

Ah yes I have noticed those too!

Same artwork different colors/outfits LOL  And even then they still manage to screw them up.

Whatever happened to the beautiful pins =/ Now the quality on all of them and art has gone down the toilet.

And I think that is the case too, I can see them in their conference room:
"These look horrible!!!!"
"Don't worry, those pin addicts will buy them anyway :wat:"

OMG!!! The Rapunzel pin!!!!hahahhaah its Pascal maybe with a Rapunzel costume? I cant stop laughing!!! hahaahahhah

i agree with the art quality of these pins lol.. the park releases and some dsf pins are pretty bad.. but so far DisneyShopping and DA have never failed to impress me with their quality of pins and art. I hope it stays that way :anxious:

The quality of the pins recently have been beyond awful. I was so excited for the carousal pins but they are so disappointing. The new Ariel pin is just creepy looking. Some of the pins look really nice but most are just not appealing. Their quality control is slipping but they know people will still buy them.

So this began as a joke in chat today with Lost-Sun-Princess and HiddenMickeys and Mermaids_grotto present.
We were discussing the horror that is... the Rapunzel carousel pin...

And we joked that she would come alive as Lost-Sun-Princess slept. Well... to make a long story short... THIS...was born...

Behold... Zombie Punzel  Found that it was fitting to post her here...while we're discussing pin artwork xD

CANNOT UNSEE, CANNOT UNSEE.

I'm still creating something special over here to celebrate the joy that this horrible little pin brings to me...
