So, Im going to Disney soon and I need a little help. When my family goes, we always collect a bunch of pins. A couple of years ago when we went, my "theme" for pins was Pluto and my brothers was Goofy. My mom had a really good one. She did all of the Disney villains. I need a good theme like that!! I cant think of anything. If you could give me some feedback, that would be so awesome!! Thanks!!

How about Characters on Disney rides or Interactive mickey pins ie; Mickey pins that do something swing back and fourth, open up, move in some way, spin. They just have to do something not jsut sit there. Now you could do this with any character you want. I myself am doing Mickey. It's pretty cool because the pins do something and people like that. Hope this helps.

Jimmy

Just choose another character you really like. :)

But, that is an extremely good idea, I will have to do that the next time I go to WDW!

We can't really suggest themes for you, because everyone is different. And you haven't given us anything to go on, except that you want a "good theme". Well, we all think that our themes are good. But you may not.

So my advice is for you to think ahead of time what your favorite Disney movie or character is, and collect that. Or maybe your favorite attraction to go to when you visit the park. Or something that relates to one of your favorite Disney memories.

One thing I CAN recommend to you is that, once you have a few ideas to choose from, you should search Pinpics.com for those themes, and look at what pins are available featuring those movies or characters. Try experimenting with different keywords to get the best results. This will really help you decide, based on how many pins are available, and what the edition sizes and Trades/Wants ratios are of the ones that you would most want to collect for each theme. It will give you a good idea of what you're in for.

I collect the little mermaid because Ariel is my favorite charecter she reminds me of myself and I have always loved the moive! hope this helped! :)

It took me a while to figure out my "themes" that I liked the most. When I first started out I chose Goofy and whatever ones I saw that I liked. Then I got one of the pins from this set and really loved it:
Pin 15949: WDW Cast Lanyard Series - Beauty and the Beast Heart

Since then I have been collecting Princess "couples." I also do Halloween and Christmas, mostly ones with no dates. I also like the Angels baseball team so I collect those and any one with my state (Arkansas) or birthstone/zodiac sign. I had no idea when I started that I would have as many pins as I have (and it's really not that many compared to others!) but it's definitely taken time to evolve.

Pretty - still missing that for my sis' set!

It also depends on whether you want to be a completist (and collect every single pin ever made with your theme) or not. If so, pick one that doesn't have many pins!

Here's a list:

Americana pins (stars and stripes)
Sport related (my son collects baseball)
Pins of a certain color (I met one collector who only collected yellow pins)
Character or characters from a specific movie (my wife collects pirates--which is pretty broad)
Pins from your favorite attraction (Haunted Mansion)
Etc.

I like Sleeping Beauty Castle pins, Halloween, and Christmas pins. Trains or transportation pins are popular themes for people to collect as well. :halloween:

If you like characters, Stitch and Tink are always fun, and usually can be spotted on a lanyard or two. :stitch:

Or maybe anything pirates....:mickey:

whatever you decide, have fun :fig::chip::dumbo::meeko::koda::madhatter::donald:

Are you looking for a theme to collect only during your visit? If that is the case, I will look up the current sets of HM's and try to complete that. When I went last weekend, I got really lucky and was able to complete the Zodiac set, the pain can set, and the perfume bottles, I was able to get them all including the chaser pins. It gave me a feeling of accomplishment since I collected the whole sets in one day. I loved Animal Kingdom, as most of the pins were originals, in good conditions, and the lanyards were refreshed. Princesses are always a good way to go also. Good luck!
