I am in love! The only thing I wish they did with Belle was make the embroidery all the way around her dress or the cloak. It's rather boring in the back compared to some of their other dolls.

That picture with her hood up is amazing! Kinda wish she was packages like that in the box. Especially with the hair brought forward

Same about the hood! It would look even better if it had some kind of embroidery.

Also, somehow people have already gotten a hold of the platinum set in person. I dunno how, but its happened.

I thought I'd make my first post since I picked up my Beast today! He's my 3rd LE after FF Anna and Elsa. 0770/3500 and I get the appropriately-French bilingual text on the box!

He looks wonderful. I squeed at seeing the promo pic but his face just looks vibrant. The scale obviously does him justice. He must be the Beast-iest Beast who's ever Beasted, at least as far as Disney's done.

And they're still not sold out of him at Yorkdale in Toronto (or they weren't late this afternoon), so if anybody else wants one...

hello! Just wanna ask..are people also queueing in yorkdale disney store during doll releases such as today? Is it a busy store? I was able to get the last beast in my store...there were still a few designer belle and gaston as well as cinderella and tremaine...

I still going to try to make my own outfits for my Belle and Beast hopefully with less than $750 dollars

Brb screaming. I want that platinum set so badly it hurts. I have the cash, but most likely not the luck hahaha! It's honestly so gorgeous in my opinion. But I will not pay above retail for it if I can't get one. Nope.

I was the last pre-order person at my store to get my Belle and Beast today. Fortunately, they look to be in great shape. Gaston...I pre-ordered online. What a nightmare that night/morning was!!

Beast is #1097 of 3500; Belle is #2032 of 5000; Gaston is #0215 of 2500. They look terrific. I didn't go for today's dolls. Enough is enough for now.

Yesterday, I got an email from UPS that Gaston would come today. I called UPS to ask if I could pick it up (they're only a mile away). NOPE!! WTF?! So I'm waiting at home and get a text that it was delivered. No one had rung at the front door, though. I rush to the front door (though delivery instructions were back door). Not there. Okay, it's in the back. NOPE! Not on the porch, not hidden by the basement steps or AC or a bush. CRAP!! I call UPS, worried and angry that they wouldn't let me pick it up. I wasn't sweet but I wasn't yelling AT the guy (yelling at everything with the phone away from my mouth a bit). I started walking all around the outside of the house...

...the package was hidden on the SIDE yard, which means the UPS guy came from the front, didn't knock to see if anyone was home, and didn't leave it at the BACK door. I apologized to the UPS guy on the phone and said that, if UPS was recording this, this was one good employee that they need to recognize and keep. He DID say that I should have been able to pick up the package at UPS. As I said, UPS is a mile away, Fedex is 7 miles. Yeah, I prefer to pickup my packages.

Well, I was there after 5 today so that might have something to do with it. Couldn't tell you about the queues for today, unfortunately. It's a fairly busy store, I would say, but maybe not on the busier end? Lining up for FF last year was quiet and civilized, much calmer than I'd expected. I didn't see any Cindy/Tremaine or Belle/Gaston anywhere so I'd say they were sold out, but I didn't ask.

...No one hides in the yard like Gaston?

After seeing several pictures of the platinum set today, I can honestly say that this set is probably my grail set. I will never own it, nor will I ever feel comfortable spending so much money on them, but I want it SOOOOOOO badly. WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME LIKE THIS DISNEY WHY!?!?!

That belle is absolutely gorgeous. I personally cannot justify the $750 price tag... But they're beautifully done, and really gave Belle justice compared to her solo 17 inch. Definitely a grail doll.

The platinum series is very beautiful and well done, but not worth the $750 imo. I think if they make a platinum set, it should be priced like how the designers are which are a little over double the price of the single dolls, or add an extra $25-$50 if it uses a lot of extra materials. It's not like they're sticking diamonds and gold leaf on it. If they're worried about people scrambling for them due to low edition numbers, just do a surprise release like they did with the Alice doll. $750 is a huge chunk of change and not even giving a lot of people a chance to purchase it. That's more than I pay for my share of rent each month, and I couldn't justify spending that much on a doll set. I dunno, that's just me and it's fine if people are willing to spend that to get a set. I just don't think it's fair to the people who can afford two of the regular LE dolls but not the markup of platinum sets.

Congrats to everyone who managed to get the dolls they wanted! They really need to give more to Europe though... I think for this series an increase in the number of dolls would be justified. No one should have to go through what you guys are going through and still come away empty handed.

My Belle arrived today, can't get over how gorgeous she is!!! Beast should be arriving tomorrow (and hopefully I don't have to pay UPS anything because according to the paperwork they charged me for both dolls today)

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous. I once had a package coming via DHL. It never showed up, but a bill arrived in the mail. I called and told them the package never came and they said it had been delivered one such and such day, at such and such time. No one answered the door so the driver left a notice on the door and took it to their depot. I told them that was impossible, because both my brother and I were home all day that day and there was no doorbell or knock, and nothing was left on the door. She apologized, told me where to pick it up, and agreed, under these special circumstances, to waive the bill.

Glad you found him in the end!

so yesterday at 08:57 I could see belle already but she was sold out. I've tried until 9:30 after that it was sold out for real. The first release ever not getting the doll that I wanted. I am really affraid for the platinum set, I really need them. somebody said america will get her in 30 minutes. 12 PST. now every day at 08:50 I am sitting ready for that set to pop up. dear god the stress

I find this to be a common occurrence with delivery companies. I went through a period where Canada Post didn't deliver my packages properly. The tracking would say attempted delivery with no answer, when this wasn't the case, and no slip left alerting me to pick it up. I had a couple cases where they left a slip when they didn't even bring the package along for delivery (long story as to how I caught them doing this, but I had irrefutable proof). The worst was when I bought a Disney doll off ebay; the package was supposed to be delivered within 10 business days and the tracking said it was delivered on the 10th day. Checked the mailbox many times, it was not delivered. No slip, nothing. Contacted the seller to ask them to get in touch and see if it was nearby- was delivered the next day. Turned out that they were going to be late by a day and just said it was delivered on the 10th day to avoid trouble. Luckily the service through them has been a million times better in the past couple years, maybe a new person delivers to our area.

I don't order through UPS or anything a lot, but in the future I think I will get one of those lock boxes/safes for parcels. I hear so many horror stories of people's stuff getting stolen off their front porch. Apparently some people will even follow the UPS truck around and swipe anything left by the door :/

If you can subscribe to UPS My Choice (or something similarly called), you can schedule delivery and/or have them hold it for you at the depot.
