Disney Store Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion - 2016
Stitch Kingdom tweeted out a photo pointing out that Disney might be teasing some upcoming Signature Collection releases. Turns out that the next Blu-ray might not be Alice in Wonderland like it was originally rumored (though you never know). However, Peter Pan is on that list, so maybe we will get some 17" Peter Pan dolls in the next couple of years? That is the only one I can see coming with doll releases on that list.

I would love a 17 inch Peter Pan doll! I doubt they would but a blue fairy doll would be nice as well.

to be honest I just really want another Ariel doll, idc if it's random and not correlating with a DVD release haha.

Me too! Ive been waiting for my ariel doll...i hope disney produces her in human form ...or even with tail as long as its ariel..hopefully when the movie is out so is the doll of my dreams lol i love belle but ariel is my long time favorite! If I had her I wouldnt think of buying any other doll!
 
The only thing I can think of is Belle and the Prince as a Platnium set. I mean they released Beast twice and although the Platinum set is amazing the Beast looks similar to the original LE one. Since Beauty and the Beast is so popular, I don't doubt Disney will be milking it for all the dolls they can get lol

I think you have good chanches that sooneror later there will be another Ariel. She's a really popular princess and has a nice wardrobe with beautiful dresses.
Winter Belle did well so I think they won't hesitate to release another Ariel if there is an occasion. But we will see. :)


He is indeed scary and odd and... I dint like this construction at all :(

I mentioned that her forehead looked too narrow, not too wide, but looking at the doll more closely her forehead is about as wide as her face; it's her whole face that's too narrow to me. There's not many good frontal face shots of Belle in the movie, the most notable one being where she's looking at Beast's human portrait in the West Wing, so these are roughly the facial proportions I prefer in a Belle doll, which I think the designer Belles come closer to. I also think the new 17 inch singing Belle's hairline is closer to animated Belle's, though I don't think the singing doll looks much like her either. I do think the doll is sort of pretty in it's own way, and her dress is beautiful, but her face is just not what I think of when I think of Belle. I'm super picky about Belle dolls haha.

I often thought looking at the princess dolls that their heads are too long or too narrow. I think many Disney dolls have this longish face problem, not only the classic dolls but the LE dolls as well. The 17 inch dolls are bigger so it's more noticable, I think. But these are only guesses :)
 
I would LOVE more Tangled dolls! I could only afford one initially so I bought Mother Gothel since she was incredibly beautiful. I'd love a LE Punzie, LE Flynn and a Platnium set of the two. I think the Lanterns would look beautiful on the Platnium box. Plus, if they braided Rapunzel's hair with colorful flowers ugh! It would be amazing!

I think that too! Disney store tends to make many of the faces too long and/or narrow. Aurora and Ariel especially. I don't think it's the scale that's the problem tho, as the 12 inch belles faces aren't as skinny/long as this 17 inch winter Belle one. My theory is that from Frozen on, they've simply 3D printed the facemold from the cgi models cuz all the dolls from Frozen and forward have been perfect. Wish they would go back and do the same for Rapunzel whose face isn't exactly too narrow or long but too chin heavy and undelicate.
 
Got my blast off email for the Platinum set from Disney Store UK. I'm hoping it'll reach my forwarding service very quickly. :) I'm very happy that this actually worked.
 
I was getting nervous as mine hadn't come through but it did this afternoon so looks like they are working though them slowly. I'm guessing they sorted out the Beast & Gaston dolls first as they had more of those to ship?

Anyway hopefully it won't be too long for you.

Lol, he's half transformed, starting from the middle. Maybe because it starts with his heart? Even though, for the price, I really think Disney could have and should have made a specific beast body mold for this, I don't mind too much, because I really like my Beast, I think he looks absolutely perfect next to Belle.

I would be frustrated though if i wanted to change up his wardrobe etc., which should be our option to do, as these are supposed to be high quality (not just "whatever gets the job done") dolls (not statues/figurines) for the adult collector (which includes a large portion of customizers, or people who just love to examine every part of their dolls, including body molds...like all the detail put into (older) Monster High body molds. Basically, a retail Monster High doll shouldn't be leaps ahead of an LE Disney doll when it comes to custom body molds).

But, Disney seems unmotivated to go the extra mile that they should, and can afford at this price point. I understood that when I got Beast, people had already warned that he seemed padded and not really a full Beast, but I think it's very short sighted of them.

No idea, there is speculation that it was due to cancellations (don't believe that) or the held back dolls (also don't believe because held back dolls would be held until all other dolls were delivered, in case of damage to the shipped dolls).

Another poster mentioned that people who were able to order previously sold out dolls got letters in the mail saying thanks for the order, but it has been sold out, and btw, here is an advertisement to purchase DVDs, lol.
 
So someone in my Facebook doll group has seen what the Moana LE doll looks like. He is incredibly reliable and usually gets to see this stuff ahead of time and confirm information on upcoming dolls. According to him the dolls details are as follows:

"The LE moana doll is featured in her island outfit as seen on her classic doll and in trailers. Beads of water can be seen on her embroidered skirt. Her doll is embellished with a flower crown, arm and leg bands, sandy feet and decorated oar. By her side is hei hei and pua

So basically it sounds like her main outfit from all the promotional images and trailers but with elements of the outfit from the singing doll. I believe lordofanime shared a piece of concept art a while back that sounded similar to this description too. Getting really excited now!

I would love if they did a second rapunzel with a braid covered in flowers! I am also dying for a Flynn doll! I just hope Flynn doesn't end up being a platinum doll.

among all the disney princess i think belle is the one they have difficulty in getting the face right..oh look she has olive green eyes here no wonder the something there belle has one..i thought it was a mistake and should be brown...
