Disney Store Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion - 2016
This is the picture that originates from my doll group. I didn't want to share it mainly because I figured the creator wouldn't want it getting around, but looks like someone else beat me to it lol. I really wanted people who didn't like the original reveal picture to see this, because I think she looks SO much better here.
I'm sorry-I didn't know and just said where I found it. :p I can take the pic out of my post of you'd like.:)

I wish I saw rooted eyelashes but no matter how I look at the image they just look painted on.

someone from the fb group who knows a lot of things, told us even before the sneak peek photos was released that she wont have rooted eyelash. so probably she has none like merida...

I don't mind if she doesn't have rooted eyelashes, to be honest. Moana doesn't strike me as a "makeup-y" character, although I think shorter rooted eyelashes might look nice.:)

If the first set of Frozen LE dolls and the Frozen Fever LE dolls stand next to each other the difference is striking. I prefer the shorter lashes. :)

I can't decide Moanas case, I could only choose if I saw her with and witout eyelashes.

She looks pretty and accurate.

The original Frozen LEs and the Frozen Fever ones do look strikingly different, I agree. It's weird how the lashes look that different...:p (SQ Elsa's lashes are ridiculously long in my opinion, lol!)

I bet someone who's used to customizing could give his/her LE Moana lashes if they wanted to. I wouldn't be able to (my limit is doing doll hair; I like to think I'm okay at that), but I'm sure it's possible. :) I kinda wish I still did not care for LE Moana because now I want her, too...

They dont have to make moanas eyelash look like she put mascara on...just a small normal one would do...everybody have eyelashes..it would be nice to see her with rooted one but not the thick one that seem to look like she put mascara..if you get what I mean

me, Even if I know how to customized a doll ( like restyle hair, put rooted eyelash or reroot hair) I would rather not touch my LE dolls. I feel like i wasted my money on these dolls by remaking them...i would do it with classic ones or singing dolls but never the dolls I spent lots of money on. Thats my opinion.

Hm, the articulation on all the Moana dolls makes her arms look a bit disfigured. It's a shame, because otherwise they look nice.

Mcandy-Yep, I get what you mean about the mascara-eyelashes! And I understand about not wanting to touch/customize LE dolls...although I would definitely take them out of the box all the same.:p And be very tempted to mess with their hair, although knowing me, I probably shouldn't do that, lol.

Vellerie-I think Moana's arm articulation looks different simply because she's built differently (ie., more like a real girl might be:p). Since we're all used to seeing all of the other princess dolls being super skinny, Moana's athletic build looks different. Just my opinion :)

TheDisneyFanatic-Oh, okay! I just figured I'd offer since the pic isn't mine and I evidently didn't credit the right person.:)

Sorry, I know everybody has moved on from BatB to Moana, however I just picked up my winter Belle and Beast dolls (I have them sent to a friend across the border and wasn't able to make the trip until today). My Belle is fine, beautiful condition, but Beast's box and plastic front is pretty bad. The box mostly has wrinkles in it which I can live with, but the plastic is very bent, scratched, and warped- I can barely fit it back onto the box after removing it to get the CoA. Anybody have any luck getting a new one from Disney or fixing the plastic themselves? It's not a huge deal as the doll itself is perfect, I just hate that the plastic is so ugly. Any tips would be appreciated as I don't think I'll have much luck tracking one down from a deboxer.

Please keep in mind I'm NOT an expert as I don't have any LE dolls yet, but depending on how squished the plastic is, maybe you could put the plastic on its side and slide a heavy book in so it'll smooth out a bit. Then if it works on the one side, then try it on the other three sides. :) (And now I'm thinking that explanation made absolutely no sense at all...) Could you post a pic of the squished plastic?

Call them. They may still have replacement dolls. What they will usually do is issue a return shipping label so you can attach it to the doll and then go to a UPS store (not sure if they have those in Canada). Then, two weeks after they receive the doll, they will send you the replacement.

Unfortunately I don't think this would work out, as I had it shipped to the US and am now back in Canada. If they did end up replacing it, I assume the shipping charges would end up costing more than the doll itself and it doesn't seem worth it for the plastic piece between the box as the doll is fine. Thank you, though!

Thanks! I might try this and maybe add a bit of heat from a hair dryer to help it along. I'll try and post pictures when I can- I took pics when it was a bit dark and the flash reflects off the plastic so you can't really see the damage too well. I will wait for a sunny day if it's not fixed by the book and heat technique. I guess worst case scenario I just display it without the plastic or try to track one down from a deboxer.

The return shipping is paid for by Disney - they send you a prepaid label via UPS.

I understand that, but Disney may only do a return from the order's shipping address, especially as UPS has a very large brokerage fee. I had it sent to the States for free shipping as I'm only about an hour away from the border, but last time I ordered to Canada UPS charged about $50, plus an additional $20 from customs. I assume that for them to pick it up and send a new one to Canada, it's going to cost them around the same amount as the doll itself so they'd ask for it to be picked up and redelivered via the shipping address. There's a slight chance they would do it from the billing address in Canada, but I also don't want to get stuck with any further customs fees on the new delivery. No guarantees that the new doll would be in any better condition either.

Yeah, I had this issue with the Sleeping Beauty release - I was one of the poor souls who got an extra Phillip instead of Maleficent and so had to send him back. I'd assumed the return label I was given would be good for any UPS store, but was informed by the person behind the desk I had to send it from America :( Granted, I just sucked it up and hoofed back across the border, so I don't know if you could request a label be made for an alternate (Canadian) address...

But I've seen people selling Belle boxes, and at least one Beast. So I think with patience you could find one! Best of luck whatever you choose!

I was able to get a replacement for my Belle doll and it's in better condition (box-wise) than the first one I got from DS. The original one had a big ding in the front of the box, cracks in the plastic underneath the ding that I could fit my index finger through and a ding on the back.

This one has a gouge missing at the nameplate, next to Belle's name (so it's brown cardboard and it really looks like bad)

They packaged it with bubbles (the air bubbles, no bubble wrap) and only on the front. The back, where the creases are, just had the Disney Store "tissue" paper :P It was packaged in a larger box, and the shipper box was nowhere to be seen :P I wish they had opened the shipper box to examine the box, put it back in, then put it inside the larger box :P

Couple of dings on the front of the box too.

I hope it works!:) The hair dryer idea sounds like it should at least help.

Just noticed there are a lot of Winter Belle up for sale. Considering people were so disappointed for not getting her I would have expected the ones who were lucky enough to get her to hold on to her. Either everybody is having money problems at the same time or a lot more people bought her with the intent to resell her. I noticed on some of the Facebook pages that people wrote these long rants about scalpers and then the same people turn around and are trying to sell those dolls at scalper prices. Am I missing something?

I will wait until I see better pics(if that exists with Disney lol) but I am not overly impressed with the LE doll so far. She looks pretty and accurate to the film but something is just missing and I cant put my foot on what it actually is. I think I will still pick her up though as from what I have seen i think im going to love Moana as a character plus there is a lack of different ethnicity dolls in the LE line. Now I cant wait to hear details as to when she will be available and until next year for the LA beauty and the beast dolls

Something I read on a facebook group was even worse, a girl that stayed the night to get Belle took one extra ticket from someone who needed to go or something like that and instead of give it to someone in that line she gave it to a "friend", next day she sold the extra one for 350 eur. People will do anything for money, sadly.

LE Moana’s face and body look too masculine to me. The 11-inch dolls are prettier and more accurate.
