Man, I wish I lived in the US and had a Disney Store nearby... I love the 17" dolls so much! I adore the size; it's perfect!
 

LOL. That's why I've learned to open from the bottom

Me too. Besides, I could preserve the factory label without breaking it by opening from the bottom of the box. I am kinda of like labels but without knowing why:lol:.

Usually, I am doing this on my bed and always keeping the bottom about 5 cm above the bed. When the doll's inner box reaches the bed, move the outter box 5 cm higher and do it repeatedly and you would never drop it hard.:lol: Just hope you understand what I mean.

I'm usually sitting on the floor in my room, slice open the bottom (well, slice through the packing tape) and then just hold it a few inches off the ground. I hold it on the sides but not too high up, until the inner box starts to come out then I move my hands higher up the shipping box.

Really? That doesn't work on mine- I just stand there, over the couch, looking like a moron as the doll stays firmly in the box. As it is, we can barely get ours out with him holding the top, the bottom open, and me coaxing it out gently (thus, the birthing metaphor...).

Haven't tried the opening both ends and laying flat method yet. If he's not here to help me, I might try that on the next doll.
 
My exchanges with Disney have always been pretty positive if I have an issue with something. And they usually get back to me very quickly. But honestly at this point in the game I don't understand why the quality control hasn't gotten better. Like thee are $100+ I dont think it would be to hard to ensue theyre packaged better.
 
I just noticed that the COA number is not only printed in a piece of paper but in the doll's plastic body as well and I felt that I still have so much to learn about Disney limited edition dolls. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/75427004@N04/13530672714)
Now I am possessed with the history, design , production and of cause older dolls searching/collection. It is really a fascinating new hobby I never had before.

This will be my first attempt at such a project. I will try valiantly, most likely resulting in a complete hack-job of a "custom". Luckily I've enlisted the help of some family members to minimize the damage. As they say - the best way to learn is to do it.

Comon, you're the one and only Disney's Freaking Princess. You can do this. Pick up that phone, dial the number, take a deep breath, and give 'em a piece of your mind. You may have a better chance at a more favorable resolution if you communicate verbally with customer service.
 

I've read somewhere that they do that, but I've never seen it before. I thought it was something that was actually stamped into the plastic, not just printed on top. Interesting! I do like that they have another way to verify that the doll is legitimate though (assuming I ever take my dolls out of their boxes).
 
I was wondering if anyone here knows whether the neck joint on a 17" LE doll / 17" Frozen singing doll consists a simple knob connector (red circle) or a pronged connector (blue circle).

I believe the singing doll has a modified version of the latter of the two.
 
If I remember when I beheaded my Wedding Rapunzel and singing Elsa for re-rooting, it was the red circled one.

EDIT: Actually it looks more like the blue circled one but it's like a big arrow head shape if that makes sense...

this was so cute!! i emailed them again, but they said again they would rather have her back and give me the money. i called them but i panicked and hung up lol but i am just going to keep her i am glad her box is fine and she too. i am always afraid a doll would fall off a boat or anything
 
Thanks for clarifying it was the Harrod's one, Quasimodo. I should have realized it when I saw the sheen on her, but somehow it didn't register.
