Am I the only one looking at Jafar and thinking that he's a rip off?
I mean.... what exactly did they do different with this doll? I love the staff, and the squished headwear is okay... But his clothes look so plain. I mean... We got that one embroidered panel but it doesn't wrap to the back! The bottom looks very simple and plain and so does the cape.... It's like we went from lavish thought out details to Disney saying "Eh... Just release the doll, it'll sell out". Remember Maleficent and how she had embroidery all over her clothes?
Same with Aladdin.... His vest is impressive but this doll was just a horrible choice. They should have gone with Prince Ali. It just doesn't make sense to me! Compare Prince Phillip with Aladdin.... One looks amazing and the other just looks meh...
Well for jafar, I think he's pretty decent. I think they probably didn't want to embroider the lower half of his clothes or it might look too feminine like I guess it would resemble more of a dress, even though that's what it is basically:lol: Aladdin I think looks pretty good, I guess they could have don his prince Ali outfit, but when he's wearing that outfit he's basically lying that he's a prince and even feels guilty about it. I guess it could have been done, but his street rat clothes are more fitting to him in my opinion. What I like is the fabric choices for his clothes. His vest is nicely detailed, and his pants look like they have this nice texture to it that makes it feel more special as opposed if they did plain satin. For me personally, I like dolls with interesting embroidery and fabric besides satin.
