DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion

As with the Aurora dolls, people who ordered way after me are getting their blast off emails first. I really wish I knew how they work out what ships when.

I checked out with both girls at 12:02 and had also some classic dolls already in basket. They shipped, but nothing on Anna or Elsa.

Friend who ordered after me (like hours, when Elsa restocked) got her email 24 hours ago...

I have noticed that emails are delayed. Log-on to your account on DS.com and check that way (see if there's a tracking number there). If not, call them ASAP.

I checked out at 12:03PST....I have not received any notice and my order is active still. I would guess the delay is normal, since regular orders have been known to take this long.

I signed up for UPS MyChoice a few months ago to track a package. Well a few hours ago I recieved a text message from UPS that my Disney Store order has shipped (I ordered an Anna and Elsa for my sister). When I click on the link it tells me that a label has been created and I should get the packages on Thursday. Even though I checked out with both dolls together they are sending them separately. One package is 5.0 pounds and the other is 5.1 pounds.

When I go to my order history on DS.com my order still says active and doesn't provide a tracking number yet.

Just letting everyone know that they are starting the shipping process...even if it isn't showing that on DS.com yet. :)

Yeah. I called Guest Services today and they told me exactly what you said. I also got an email for Elsa telling me it's been shipped a few hours ago. I'm so relieved and happy all is well.

And I just got a Blastoff email for the other two tote bags I bought so my whole order's been shipped with (hopefully) no more worries. Do the dolls ship from somewhere different than the other merchandise on the Disney Store? Because the bags come folded flat and I didn't think another box was really necessary.

Just asked the guest service and they told me my orders are processing but they doesn't have info to know exactly when my orders would be shipped...

It seems kind of random, heh, though they do seem to have it vaguely grouped at least. I got Anna checked out at 12:00:27 and got an email for her first, unsurprisingly. Elsa's email was delayed for some reason, the site itself showed closed and the tracking number before I got the email for it, she was checked out at 12:01:20. UPS has the tracking numbers grouped as one shipment, though sadly neither number has gone live yet so I can't tracking stalk yet. XD

It seems strange that the comparisons for standard shipping times are so different between the UK and US store

my dolls were both delivered yesterday in separate huge boxes!
unfortunately I don't really have any pictures to share as I'm not a de-boxer though :)

hopefully everyone one still waiting for dolls receives them soon!

No idea how they process the orders, but it could be geographic (ie, from a shipping "zone" perspective). With the March Frozen dolls, I was on DS.com searching for them but in the meantime got links via the Disney LE Dolls Facebook page. And then as the shipment phase began, I saw in comments posted to FB that the girl who had posted the links most of us used to get our dolls (and who had of course completed her own order first!) hadn't received shipment emails while most of the rest of us had. That seemed incredibly messed up to me, but it was clear that Disney wasn't processing the orders in the (ha ha) order in which they had been received! So I don't know what method they use, but it isn't "Jane checked out at 12:00:01 and Sue checked out at 12:55:59, so Jane's order gets shipped first." For all we know, they could just throw a dart at the wall. :-P Just keep monitoring and when in doubt, call Guest Services. But sadly, even this "out of order" processing is not unusual ....

Watch them do it by random order # generator or some other completely random way.
:D My personal theory is that the farther away the shipping address is from the warehouse, the earlier it ships; most of the people I've heard from who've already gotten Blast Off emails live on the West Coast. And I hope that no one gets an order canceled simply because DS processed more orders than there are dolls; if it happens to anyone they should get their money back and a couple hundred dollars extra on a store gift card, in my opinion.

But really, the fact that UPS reports dolls getting shipped BEFORE their order status is updated on the DS website is really wild. I'm not too concerned that my order's still active (I ordered pretty early too though, lol) but I've still started to hover over my phone waiting for the Blast Off email to finally get here. :)

Honestly? I think you're better off! That indicates UPS actually has the package and is doing something with it. Often what happens is a Disney warehouse employee prints the label for your package and boom! your blast-off email is sent. So you're all, "Yay!" and then it takes forever for the label to actually make it onto a package and the package to make it into UPS's hands and you're freaking out because your tracking # isn't updating at all. Ha. Unnecessary stress! I wish they would NOT send blast-off emails until the package is actually scanned into UPS's system, because it's nerve-wracking in the meantime. But that's just my opinion based on my experience last year ... :-P

Yes, now I believe you're right! I know Disney is waiting to process my order, so an unexpected delivery from UPS would be SO much nicer than fretting about when DS will change the order status. :) At this point I just hope they ship all the Frozen dolls out before Friday when everyone starts to order the Cinderella dolls. I can only imagine how slow the shipping process would be with two major releases at once.

I have a question that will probably sound stupid to people who have been collecting these dolls for a whole but I'm new to it so bear with me. My Anna is #51 our out of 5000 does having a low number like that make her worth more money if I chose to sell her(which I am not going to do at this time or probably ever) just curious about that

That's weird. If yours is shipping internationally, I would expect it to go air and then go quicker than the ones traveling by ground within the US

Yes it is shipped internationally and that's petty weird. Last time, I checked out DFDC Cinderella&charming at 12:25pst and it's shipped the third day. But, it is still active now.

I think the condition of doll and box is more important than #.

I sort of think that maybe John Lasseter might get the doll numbered 0001 or someone like him. Just because I've seen pictures of his office with the LE dolls and he would have the pull to get that edition number. I think he'd appreciate it. I would love to have an office like his!

Not with the Designer Collections, but I wouldn't know about the 17" dolls. I've never had any real interest in looking. The edition numbers just don't matter as much to me as the doll and it's packaging does.
I am just curious. To me, the doll's condition goes first then the box, and the last is #.

Regarding doll number....there are far more people just trying to get a doll they missed out on over doll collectors trying to obtain a low numbered doll. But I do know that to some collectors, they try to get the lowest # possible. The price they pay is what sets the value of the doll that day.....so you need to research history of sales. Having said that, I know doll #1 is a coveted one to get and would be worth far more than all the rest. I doubt that doll is ever available through a store or online. Probably a CEO has it or some higher up.
