DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I have a question: I have never boughten a doll that has not been released in store first, thus making the sku/item number available before hand to type into the disney search function and was wondering what the best way to find the dolls on Friday would be? It seems when they are in store first, the dolls can be sold out by the time they show up in the search function... Is it best just to watch online here and the Facebook page for links or is there a better way? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

I found this information myself on their website. I understand that you're sceptical, but I would never do something vile like that to my lovely, fellow collectors.

Sorry, I thought you may have gotten this from another source! It's really cool that you found him though! Congratulations!

i have my doubts too . All LE male had rooted hair. I think it's a fake. Or maybe the classic doll and it's a mistake.

Well, if it's not true we'll know by tomorrow when the shipments come in, right?

To be honest, I don't think they will release Hans on friday. I think he is a project in the works as the edition number wasn't stated on the website.

Pupuce, I wish I could update more stuff, but I don't want to ge sued by Disney.

Well, this is how they describe his hair on disneystore.co.uk. And no, I didn't photoshop this. -.-

... Hold on, NONE of Hans's jackets are blue. They're all shades of grey/white. Wtf? Dude, this is obviously fake/not Hans.

I'm one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" types, and the likelihood of them releasing an LE Hans this week is, I think, next to impossible, but if this does turn out to be a leak from a future release, then that'll be great for all those who've been interested in seeing him. Plus, that'll be another villain to add to the LE line.

The new LE Hans looks great! It's an updated version of the classic doll but WITHOUT rooted hair (thank God!).

I personally like rooted hair on the guys better, especially now that I am getting a better look at the LE Kristoff. Which leads me to a question: for those of you who own Eric and/or Kristoff, how do you think they compare to their princesses and the other female dolls? I thought about this today while looking at Blue Aurora and Phillip and wondering why Phillip and the other 17'' men have such a bad reputation with collectors. In my opinion Phillip at least is very well made and his outfit and accessories have the same high-end detailing as the other dolls, and his hair (which I remember a lot of people complaining about when he was released) is fabulous. Maybe I just got one of the better-looking dolls, but I think it's odd that he and Eric are so often criticized for having rooted hair when the boys in the Designer Couples sets were just as maligned for having plastic hair. :)

Personally, I find that the designers at Disney rooted the boys' hair, but didn't fashion it in a way that suited the character. They're used to doing women's hair, but they severely lack in the men's department. The good news is that they give you plenty of hair to work with for a restyling, which is what I did with my Kristoff!

I'd say the princes are just as detailed as the princesses, minus rooted eyelashes and rhinestones. Phillip in particular is especially well done. I love the fabrics they chose and his accessories. The likeness isn't that great, but I don't really think the likeness is ever REALLY there. Aurora, for example, looks like a dollefied version of herself.

But princesses are just more popular than princes and villains. And Phillip's pictures were horrible on the site. Eric sold our in about 30 minutes, but he and Ursula were hyped a lot more than the SB dolls thanks to D23.

I MUCH prefer rooted hair. I don't care if it looks a little funny or doesn't get styled nicely. It just looks better. And at least I can fix it. I had to do so for Phillip--and I didn't even remove him from his box to do it.

I didn't love the designer princes having molded hair, but at least they gave the hair a lot of carved details. Rooted hair probably would've been a wreck at that scale.

I like my Kristoff's hair. It might be a tad long, but it doesn't bother me. I'm so-so on his icemaster outfit, but not because of lack of detail. I think the medal is what throws me, even though it's movie-accurate. It just makes me think of an athletic medal.

BTW, this might be leaning towards being off topic, but the Film Collection 12" prince's outfit is fantastic. I adore it.

You're right, his jacket isn't pale blue, but that's how they describe it. I think they're referring to the pale blue embroidery on his jacket as the full description says: "Pale blue suite jacket with embroidery detail".

Here's a picture of his jacket. Now you guys will probably say that I bedazzled the jacket myself... Oh well! :coffee:

Thanks so much for giving us a tid bit more info! I'm satisfied to say that when it comes out, I'll probably go for it!

No problem! I don't want to burst any bubbles, but keep in mind that it may also be a prototype or a test item.

Yeah, I know that many of them in production never got made. For instance, the horses that they have a mold for as well as several others.

That's the same pic in the link from RDC. I have seen the full sized pic and it IS a shopped pic of the classic doll. And, yes RDC did get in trouble for posting it. The "embroidery" on the jacket is very obviously doctored, even in that small capture you've shared. It's not that I'm calling you a liar. In fact I know what page you've seen.
