i know that feeling. that's why i don't like my doll's current residence atop of my bookshelf, because she is a little too high up to see. i'm hoping to move her. she is gorgeous. i am finding it hard not to take more pictures.

Omg amazing photo, i love it! Her face looks sooooo pretty, my sisters didnt like the 12inch face mold and were saying that the 17inch looks odd too from the disney oics but from your photo i think she looks beautiful. I cant wait for her to arrive, i watched a review video on youtube and someone mentioned using nail polish remover to take the glitter off her neck and chest but i would be too scared to use something so strong? I cant wait to see more photos of what you have changed on her

I think its safe to say that we will probably be getting dolls for each of their live action fairytales now. I assume that we will be getting more live action fairytales than just Cinderella and BaTB. Disney will probably announce more films at the D23 Expo. I am not too fond of them remaking all of their animated classics, but Cinderella impressed me enough to have more of an open mind on future films like BaTB (it felt like I was watching a tribute to the original film).

But I expect them to go all out with Belle! I am already imagining what her golden ball gown will look like!

It was my all time fave disney movie as a child, i agree i think they will do a 17inch belle and i wouldnt be surprised if they did a cinderella wedding doll version of belle too. I was really tempted to hunt down the 17inch belle that was released a few years ago but from reviews I've seen some people think her dress was too simple and they could have done more with her? I hope disney go all out with the live action version.

I cant wait to see what other limited edition items they will release for the movie and what the packaging will look like? I hope its as pretty as the cinderella merch. I wonder if they will release the enchanted rose? I know they already have the LE Arribas version, which looks beautiful but the measurements put me off, it looks tiny! so maybe they will make an LE version of the mirror the beast uses to look beyond the castle? Disney have already released a stained glass panel and a beautiful tapestry and throw so it will be interesting to see to see what they release for the movie? As the cinderella merch has been so popular i hope disney make lots of beautiful things for BaTB.

I wish Disney would explore other options so people weren't so upset and taken advantage of by scalpers. There's the option of a limited time pre-order without a fixed number assigned. I've seen that work well for small doll companies. I also really would like them do a second run on some of the dolls, just change them up a little bit. I know that would royally tick some people off, but overall more people would be happy. I'd love SQ Elsa, but $2k is not something I am willing to do. It'd be cool if they even varied the design a bit by changing size or changing packaging. I personally don't care these are LE. I just really like the dolls. I buy mass produced dolls to runs of less than 100.

Yes! It would be great if Disney did a preorder with no limit where people had to pay immediately (so no one changes their mind and hurts Disney's bottom line) and then everyone who wanted that particular doll would get one. It would be great on both sides. Disney wouldn't overproduce dolls like Prince Phillip or the Villain Designers and they would help collectors avoid the secondary market by not underproducing dolls like Cinderella. I believe that a LOT more than 500 people would have paid $500 for her. I was ready to and Disney could have gotten my money instead of someone else. I really wish they would consider something like this but I guess "limited edition of 7,435" doesn't have the same ring to it?

Please Disney, do something though! If they release Frozen Fever Elsa, I'm scared for what will happen...so many people including me want her because they missed out on SQ Elsa.

This. Exactly my thought when I saw the stock photos, especially with her in the box. Lunch box was all I could think of. But I'm among everyone else that when I saw her in person, the box was more beautiful than any of the 17-inch boxes I've seen. As for the doll, the more I look at her, the more she's growing on me. Every time I step into the room with the dolls, I'd look at her, then look at the rest of the dolls displayed with her. I'm so glad my husband convinced me to go ahead with this and believed that she will grow on me.

Also late to the convo but agreed that I'm thankful that my husband gets the hobby and is actually the one who will push me toward getting a doll if I'm on the fence about it because of poorly taken Disney stock photos. He'll laugh at me that I'm excited like a little child when I receive my dolls but am very supportive of it. I am actually afraid of bringing this hobby up to any of my friends, or coworkers because I know the kind of look I will receive if they hear that 1) I collect dolls, and 2) the amount (albeit retail) that I pay for the dolls. And don't even mention my mother, which is funny because my mother is the exact reason I'm starting to collect Disney dolls now. I remember distinctly that when I was a child and wanted Disney princess dolls (this was back when Disney princesses were very successful in the 90s), my mother will always tell me no they are too much or no you have enough toys. Gosh I can only imagine her expression if and when she finds out my shrine! :lol:

I started with the animator's collection and were picky with the classic dolls as I don't think the recent years' version do the original animation's any justice as far as resemblance of face mold and costume goes. Not that I could've done anything to help it but I really wish I had known about the limited edition dolls much sooner. I had spotted some of the designer villain's collection when they went on clearance on Disney's website but never knew they were just part of a bigger collection (and it were the designer beautified ursula and queen of hearts so they didn't do it for me). I didn't find out about the 17-inches until the second wave of Frozen dolls were being picked up in store. I love the first two waves of Frozen dolls and especially Snow Queen Elsa but can't find myself to justify $2k for a doll; I'm glad I got the chance to own the recent Frozen dolls and am hopeful we will see a Frozen Fever LE dolls. Also attending D23 for the very first time this summer and am excited to see what merchandise, doll announcements they'll be making and crossing my fingers for a D23 Elsa!

i was a "closet collector" in a way, no knew about this hobby of mine except for my husband and immediate family. i've collected little over the years until the 17" LE dolls came out. my friends and co-workers didn't know about my collection. i have most of my dolls and figurines are in a curio and closet of a guest room and most are still in boxes and no one really sees them and are surprised, maybe giddily shock when they discover them when they spend the night with us. i recently discovered that one of my co-workers also collect disney dolls and prefers villains...she's recently bought a few that i had knowing she'll enjoy them more than i will.

i stayed away from the forum for a while until i realized that i missed out on the 1st&2nd frozen sets and pink aurora...fortunately, i was able to trade a Maleficent for the pink aurora...now i make sure i keep up with this forum and FB groups so as not to miss out again. also fortunate to have a supportive husband who understands the obsession.

i was not going to get the new live action film Cinderella, but after watching the movie, had to have the blue dress...but missed out on the wedding cinderella fortunately - it was just too expensive, still can't justify that $500 price tag, but the dress is gorgeous. wished i knew about the slipper as well, missed out on that one also. can't wait for jasmine though and i hope they start to show more d23 previews/leaks...

You're very welcome! I'm glad that my thread helped a fellow Disney fan become aware of these forums! I just got so excited for the film that I had to make a thread for it despite the fact that it was a whole year before the film was released lol.

As for what Disney could release for BaTB, there certainly are a lot of possibilities! A replica of the rose would be lovely! I am just really excited to see what Emma Watson will look like in costume and how well it will translate to doll form.

My anna and elsa from this release both had a paint smell or something chemical when i opened the box. does someone have this with their Cinderella. I wonder if it's because of their shiny skin because kristoff did not smell. I would like to know because I won't get my Blue Cinderella before friday 🙂

So my Friday went like this~ I wasn't going for the Cinderella dolls. I only liked the wedding Cinderella but I really wasn't going to pay that much, especially a doll I wasn't crazy about. I was really waiting for LE Hans but I was very suspicious. So I tried to help some of you guys by posting the item number for the UK site, and disclaimer, I have no idea how to find that info or how to make early links. I got it from another site and wanted to share here as well.
Now after the morning's release I went to see the earliest showing of the Cinderella movie. Because I'm a crazy diehard Frozen fan I was obviously super excited for Frozen Fever! But I loved the Cinderella movie too. Being a cosplayer I just loved loved loved all the costumes and designs. I loved how they mixed different time periods. I find the Prince was really charming and Lily James very sweet!
By the evening I was already dreaming about the LE blue Cinderella! 😀 I'm just not really sure how I like the more realistic look. And of course I had already missed my chance to get it that morning. I think I'm going after the Mattel Cinderella doll. I think the dress and box is nicer and the Disney Store movie doll. 🙂

And now I'm hoping and waiting for LE snow gear Kristoff and a Hans doll, and I hope he's in the light colored coronation suit rather than the blue hued outfit from his first appearance! And of course Frozen Fever Anna and Elsa. I loved Anna's new dress (^ ^) Can't wait to cosplay that one too! (I have already coronation dress and snow gear, and epilogue dress in the making!)

Yes! I noticed they had a really pungent smell unlike any other dolls I have! I don't think Maleficent smelled like that either even tho she has "shiny" face. But I think it's because of the skin glitter anyway. I had the boxes open for couple days until I put them back.. I hope the fumes won't build up again when I open them next time!

Did disney release the maleficent LE at the same time as the movie was released on DvD? Im just wondering what the chances are of them doing a lady T or fairy godmother LE when cinderella is released on dvd

Talking to people about doll collecting as an adult can be difficult. My coworkers and friends think it's insane to spend that kind of money. My mom is super supportive and helps camp out in line for the dolls. I just started this to do something special with my daughter. We have talks each time we get a new doll about how these dolls are not to play with. She told me that when she grows up and they're hers that she will open them and play with them, since she doesn't want to be a mommy and give them to her daughter.

haha your post really made me laugh, i can imagine my daughter saying the same thing when shes a bit older. I'm actually considering letting her maybe open one to play with in the future. I only have 2 but will probably get more from the upcoming collections. When i got my first one (aurora) i told my mum and sisters i bought her for my daughter (shes only 18 months lol) of course i actually bought it for myself but didnt want to look like a crazy doll lady. I think i will let her open aurora one day as i want to collect the live action dolls.

oh yeah I agree about the plastic on Elsa's box! It was like weirdly bloated and difficult to fit back! Never experienced that before. Well I hate trying to put the plastic back on the boxes the most, anyway! Especially with dolls who have big hair or dress cos they get on the way a lot 😀


I have a hard time deciding whether to debox my new Frozen dolls or not.. I have deboxed my Rapunzel and Snow Anna (and put them back in the box like they were). I do enjoy them a lot when they're deboxed but it's a hassle to put them back. Also seems like the new Anna and Elsa are secured quite tightly to the boxes this time around!
I just admired my Maleficent&checked her COA. All the pictures of her deboxed look sooo pretty I'm so tempted! hehe (^ ^)

I did exactly the same! My first doll was pink aurora, then blue. I said they were for my daughters when they're older.
I managed to get the new Anna and Elsa, so now my eldest says they're hers.

Dont know what to do with Cindy (1 doll, 2 girls), will have to say she's mine!

I don't have the best pics (these were just on my phone to give my friends at work a laugh at my insanity).

Cardboard cover--I put a gold gem on every dot on the box (including over the I in Cinderella)


On the plastic cover, I put a white gem on each dot on the box, and a couple others that you can't really see. The backdrop is a leather sofa, so it may be hard to make out.


I didn't take any pictures of the backdrop inside the box, but I put little white, blue, and purple gems to "light up" the night sky. It's hard to capture the look in pics since gems only look nice when they're moving / sparkling. I'll post more pics once the entire project is done.

Wow! Maybe she came back up due to declined credit cards or something? The more I see wedding cindy, the more I like her. I REALLY wish DS would have sold her lesser version separately...I do not care for the prince in that box, and you are paying for him at $70 bucks for the pair. I was at Target this morning, and looked at all the Mattel versions....wow, it really helps to see them in person. Their faces all look slightly different (I think it mainly has to do with the painting of the eyes)...so, I passed on the 2K eBay ones, and the $70 DS one, and got good one at Target. Lots of them have squished hair and dented boxes, but I found a perfect one. I also got a blue dress mattel one too. For anyone who cares, ToyRUs is having a sale on them, and Target will price match!

I'm really regretting not getting Blue Cindy now...sigh... I was up too, I could of....WHY OH WHY!?!?
