Hi guys, I got one of my 2 ultimate grails today. The hades no smoking pin. As I was drooling over it I decided I would really love to wear it but wouldnt want to loose it, so eventually I would like 2 to fix this. It got me thinking how many other people try to collect more than 1 of the same pin for reasons other than traders?
So what pin do you want multiple of and why?

I sometimes buy 2 of the same Haunted Mansion pins because I REALLY love the design and knowing once they're sold out, that's it, gone. That way, I have a good trader or gift for someone. I especially bought 2 of the HM Piece of History released at DLR on 11-15-09 in the stand-by line no less!

I keep most of my pins in pin bags, but I've put some pins in frames to go on the wall. For some insane reason, I decided that I needed to get spare pins to go in the frames so that those pins would still be in my "collection" in the bags.

I have my major collection of Chip n Dale on a big board and have all the others on other boards. If a pin is part of a set that lives elsewhere in my collection but also has Chip n Dale on it, I may need 2 of them!

I think that yes, if I were to collect more than one it would be the same reason as you.
I'm scared to take my collection pins out of their storage (I have a special box and they're all bubble wrapped like five times), LET ALONE wear them. But that would be lovely to do that. So good thinking, thanks !

We have kept 2 of the same pin if they are commemorate an event or some special memory.

For example we both have the two pins that started the whole thing from our WDTC starter lanyards, both of our 'I Was There' pins from the DLR 50th celebration, and our pins from the 'Walk In Walt's Footprints' DLR tour.

Sometimes I do, as I collect such a Niche character in Scrooge McDuck, sometimes having a second of a pin might help as a trader.

I don't usually buy more of one pin. However, I made an exception for this pin, as I want to use it as part of a costume idea I have for next year's MNSSHP at WDW. So, it's kind of a similar reason as yours, though this is not a grail pin by any means.

I dont generally. however, on occasion I will have one in my collection that is scratched, so I will pick up a second if I can find it.

PODM's seem to the be main pin people collect multiples of. However I kinda think eventually that will slow down a bit, and people will pick a favorite and trade away the rest.

YES! This little guy to be exact

I have a few of him because I LOVE Pascal, so he lives everywhere! On my bag, in my pin collection, on me sometimes xD I love how accurate and adorable this pin is! I want more of him! xD

Can you tell why he was once a grail?

I am sooo guilty of this...LOL...

For Frankenweenie... I am trying to keep up with two of every pin... I want one for wear and one for my personal collection...

For new releases... first set to collection, second set is for trade or Goofy Auction House...

PoDM's... Well we wont even go there... lol... Can you say every scene is wanted...

What I normally do is buy two or three if it is a popular pin then keep them for awhile then trade the extra ones off. I keep one and trade off the rest to get better things. Like I will collect numerous copies of DSF pins and trade off the extras when they sell out at DSF.

I have a couple pins I like that are duplicates.

Most the time I will steall any and ALL lion knig pins off of lanyards even if I have them already...they make wonderful traders. Not only that but I don't use them as traders to get things I want.

I give them back to cast members I like to put on their lanyards. The better pins they have for the day, the more people like to talk to them and the more people talk to them the better and less boring their day is. I may not be a cast member anymore but I remember those days when I only had scrappers on my lanyard and i literally would pray for someone to drop a soda or something to make my day more interesting.
