Do you regret deboxing?

I opened a LE for the first time tonight because I want to change her up a bit. I don't regret it (because I'm excited to personalize her) but there's no way I'd make a habit of it. My Flickr friends told me LE are so easy to open, but Cinderella was a pain in the *** to remove!!

Other than that, I buy 2 of each OE item if I want to debox. I really love how they look in their packaging. But I also want to open them up and see their details or personalize them.

i haven't deboxed any of my LE dolls, lord knows it'll save me so much display space if i did!
but i have deboxed all kinds of other dolls and have mostly regretted the decision. it makes the dolls look cheaper for some reason.

i don't really play with my dolls and i lack the talent to customize them, so for me it's more of a display thing and they generally look better in their boxes, to me anyway.

I only deboxed my Frozen march set and Elsa's cloak looks really more beautiful than in box. But I would never debox my incoming Coronation Anna bought from ebay and 2015 Frozen set because I have no space to place another 'Really Big' sealed show case to prevent them from dust.

To answer your question: No I don't regret it I have way more fun deboxing my dolls and taking photos of them.

I have never taken any of my LE dolls out of their boxes because I'm too scared that I'll regret it!

I know theres a chance that I would prefer them deboxed but as I do love them in their boxes I have decided to keep them as they are

Thanks for sharing your stories/input! It's a very hard decision to make, especially with dolls like Alice and SQ Elsa... I deboxed my Coronation Elsa, and getting her back in the box in the same position was a hassle... I don't know if I want to debox another 17"!

I might just do the classic ones..... but I have many double boxes (like the new frozen fever Anna & Elsa) which I think should stay boxed.

I only debox to remove the plastic and all the million ties and whatnot. (such an eyesore!!) Plus, sometimes I like to reposition them and whatnot. But they go right back in the box to stay protected from dust and all the other things. Now if/when i get Wedding Cinderella, SQ Elsa, etc. , I most likely will not debox them due to how high their after retail price is. Its really a personal choice

I know what you mean. The secondary market price for the first Frozen LE dolls is really high. I unterstand why most of the collectors would never debox them. I got both dolls from my Mom for christmas in 2013. I deboxed them because I got them from her, so I could never bear to resell them anyway

I don't have any Disney dolls sadly; But we collect Monster High dolls and it depends. My grandma is a deboxer while for me being an artist:

If the box is apart of the character they stay in the box; if it's a lame box or a big boxed set (Like a 5 pack) it's instantly deboxed!

I always debox my dolls. For some reason I can never last longer than a week leaving them in the box, but if I need to, I can rebox them to look exactly like they were in the box. I tried this with my aurora because I wanted to see if I could be able to do it if I ever wanted to store her. Either way, I debox my dolls because I love taking things out of boxes, it feels like opening presents! And my room doesn't have any space for all those boxes, and it's hard trying to rearrange items so it doesn't looked cluttered. Another reason is that I feel like I enjoy a dolls beauty out of the box since I can pose them or even do phot shoots with them.

do you maybe have any tips on deboxing them back. I want my ariel back in her box but i am struggling

I totally debox my designers because I don't like how much packaging comes with them. I find it really takes away from the dolls. And I was so nervous to do it, I let them sit in their shipping boxes for about a year and a half before I took them out, took a deep breath, and decided to doctor them. I put them back in the case afterwards, but they look a lot less restrained. I also cut off the cardboard backing off from the base, and then because I still want the COA displayed when I turn the box around, I paste a piece of scrapbook paper that matches the colours/design on the doll on the front of the cardboard. I think they look a lot nicer that way! Just be careful cutting. Get a craft excel knife or razor sharp scissors, go slowly, and cut away from you. That last one is a biggie because I accidentally got the excel blade embedded in my pinky finger and bled all over Ariel and Eric's cardboard backing (luckily did not get the COA or the dolls themselves or anything) because some of that plastic is thick and difficult to cut.

The LE dolls I only have 2 of, and I did remove the plastic backing off them which I sorta regret. I find they haven't got as much packaging as the designers, and so they looked fine enough untouched. I only regret it because if I move I will have take them out of the box to roll them in tissue paper or something so they don't get damaged on the drive over. But it's totally up to how you feel about the packaging because it's not as noticeable as it is on the designers, so if you're fine with it, I say leave it be

Here's my first designers with the scrapbook paper. I haven't gotten paper for the DFDC but they've all been removed from their boxes too.

I've deboxed LE Merida and designer Zarina and have left Coronation Elsa boxed. (Part of the reason i bought Zarina, actually, was that I was itching to debox a doll but knew I shouldn't debox Elsa because she was inevitably going to become very expensive)

My first expensive/collector dolls were Tonner Snow White and peasant!Belle, who are meant to be displayed (their boxes are like shoe boxes - there's no 'window') so I had no problem with it.

Both Zarina and Merida have so many details that I can't imagine keeping them boxed! They both came with weapons, too, and it's fun to pose them.

de-boxing is super fun. i experienced a sort of rush de-boxing my 17" singing elsa, but now that i don't want the doll, i regret it. she was supposed to be displayed in my curio but i have no space for her now so i might just sell her.

i would not de-box the limited edition ones. i feel like their boxes are fantastic enough settings for them to stay in. i was tempted a couple of times to de-box the live action cinderella doll but i know i would regret it. i already tilted her hand and head the way i wanted in the box (she looks the same as all other dolls, i haven't changed anything drastically at all, just moved the hand a millimeter and the head more to the right) so i have no incentive to take her out other than to take pictures of her and "play" with her and display her in a different position. but i'm happy with her as she is.

i see the appeal in de-boxing though, especially if it's a doll you are going to keep. i am obsessed with packaging of things though so even if i keep things, i still keep the packaging too. hahaha, so it's a little counterproductive (not sure if the right word) for me to de-box things. might as well just keep it in the box.

honestly, it depends, but i don't think i would de-box a limited edition doll. maybe the classic disney ones, if i alter them.

She looked poor postured and somewhat pregnant due to the dress sticking out in the front. She has a huge full skirt, but they pinned and tucked it all in the back so it has no flow. Deboxed pic her cover is off, but she is displayed with the cover always on.

rabbitunderground I also have the singing 17" Elsa (one boxed and one deboxed) and I actually somewhat regret the boxed one. She has a battery in her that I can't take out, so even though it has that little plastic thingy in, I worry that the battery may not stand the test of time. At least with your deboxed one you can easily take out the battery if you store her, and not worry. Plus, only deboxed can she startle you with bursting into song every time a breeze blows by her...or is that just mine? lol!

I must say I never liked that Snow White doll BUT what you did to her, and I can see it's just the pose, make her gorgeous. I can't believe :-D It's just another doll completely different. Congratulations. You should send your cv to Disney :-D They are in need of a new photographer too ;-)

I have never liked this doll very much but after seeing your photos I want her now! It is incredible how much difference the pose makes.

I haven't deboxed any of the LE dolls I own yet but I plan to. I do think the boxes are very nice but I would prefer the doll,in a curio case like I have for my Hot Toys marvel figures as it takes up far less room than stacking the dolls in their box and IMO looks less like a cluttered mess. I do keep the boxes and COA in the basement incase I have to move someday. So in short no I don't and won't regret deboxing it really depends on the person and their preference though

No skill really....camera phones are hard to hold still and let in little light, so I don't use one for picture taking. Big old school looking digital camera and outdoor light - 'click' - you're good to go Your pics look great btw.
