I was wondering, was there an announcement in the last couple of days about them finally culling the "inactive" accounts from the wants/trades ratios, as I went to do a few trades this afternoon, and noticed there are quite a few LESS wanters on some of my previously very high wanted pins, like

[pinpics]51972[/pinpics]: DLR - St. Patrick's Day 2007 - Mickey's Irish Band - Jumbo.

It previously had around 75 people wanting it (last weekend when I sent out requests on it), and now that is down to 48. I do not remember the people trading it, but I think that dropped a little as well

I know this had been talked about previously, but had not seen any major drops in the counts until today. I noticed it on like 10 or so other pins I just looked at, which makes me think this is across the board.

There has been talk recently on one of the boards that they are getting really close to releasing their new website so maybe they culled out the dead weight before the big release?

I haven't seen any announcement, but they have been hinting that they're close to having the new website ready. So it might have been something that they were doing in preparation. There was a specific pin that I was looking at a couple of days ago, that previously had 32 people trading, and now its 23, so something did happen. I also remember something about the new website only allowing one account per email address, so I don't know if they removed inactive users, or if they did something with the duplicate accounts.

I remember them doing that a few years back. It's refreshing knowing this are more 'real' numbers and that we aren't trying to get in touch with 'dead' accounts.

Just asked on Pinpics, and Samantha confirmed. Accounts with no activity for 6 months or more have been set to inactive.

If you haven't visited the site in 6 months, and logged into your account then you're inactive.

As long as you do that, you're active.

And all you have to do to be reactivated is log in.

I was wondering the same thing as i too noticed changes. Although there are changes, I don't think I believe 6 months or older. There still seems like there are a lot of traders in there that have trades and/or wants that are dated.

Also, you may have noticed recently that they are trying to update the picture sizes and a lot of images are bigger than they used to be as the small pictures will likely not be transferred to the new PP, so if you have any of those pins with low resolution pics, it would be the time to take a pic or a scan and send it in to the info email, so they can resize the image. I did this with a few recently and should do a lot more if I find them and open up the frames.....ugh, lol.

People can still visit the site to see what's new, look up info for a specific pin, etc. even though they've stopped updating their trades/wants. That would be enough to keep them active, if they logged in.
