Its always been a pretty rare day when I get responses to my pinpics requests. Which is always just fine. I can understand people not replying when they aren't interested.

I have gotten a couple rude responses before. Some people "educating" me on why their pins are better than the ones I'm offering.

I haven't gotten completely sworn at until today though. Which would be wonderful enough if I wasn't dealing with a giant work overload and running back and forth at the hospital for a family illness.

So, I think I'm now done with sending out pinpics requests. I'll just try and trade with people on the forum or if I go to a nearby event like Disneyana Dayton. Or zap them out to people when I can afford it.

I just want to try to keep pins as something that brings happiness to me and others, especially when the world isn't being too nice.

I hope other people don't have this kind of trouble when they use pinpics. :(

Wishing happy and good trading to everybody.

Someone used curse words at you? I am pretty sure that is not allowed right...? There must be a rule somewhere through pinpics that everyone's responses should be cordial.

I think it would be a great option if you send out a pinpics trade request that the person your sending it to get an email or a online form and click yes/no for the trade and that the form or email get sent to the person requested the trade.... Now do not all the pinpics users are still trading I think? But just an idea :)

Good luck trading! It is not right of people to be rude about pin trading. If I think it is not fair I either don't answer (which I know is not polite but when I send out 115 requests and not one of them respond no thanks then I think it is the norm) or say no thanks or take them up on the trade. More and more my trades are from this board, but I still try pinpics because it is worth a try and have made some good trades there also.

Trying to combine responses so its not all a mess.

I have gotten a couple rare sweet responses which are always nice whether they are agreeing to a trade or not. A few really negative responses, but this one was too much for me.

Supermannino - Hey, you're helping me out! Thanks. I'm going to the DLR PTN on March 15. You want either of this pins? PM me if so.

You don't have to do anything like that for me. I was happy to be able to help you. :) You just go and enjoy the PTN.

disneypinqueen - I think we all feel your pain! I looked at our trades/wants and we don't have a match :( Hopefully you're able to find a trade soon!

Thank you very much for the well wishes. :)

The only pins I'm crazy after are my Enchanted pins and other grails. All other requests I send out are just for fun.

I def wish pinpics would send out some "are you still active" surveys every now and then. Its hard to know who just doesn't want to trade and who is not there.

I wouldn't want to do away with people's ability to send out any response to a trade besides yes or no though. Sometimes people want to ask about pin condition or whether it comes with a card and I would hate the people that find that important to have to wonder about it until their trade comes.

I have traded with a couple nice people through pinpics and would hate to not be able to tell them how much I appreciated it.

Yeah, even as a newbie my experiences with it haven't been great. Basically given up with it. May or may not use it in future.

For me it just seems to come in waves. I go weeks with no one responding to my requests and no decent requests from other people (although I try to always respond politely), then suddenly I'll set up 5 or 6 good trades in a week. If you want to trade just keep trying and don't let the #$@holes get to you.

I replied to a request I got from you today. It was for the WIR Jumbo pin. You had offered the Stitch pins. I hope I was cordial enough! Please feel free to respond back!

Don't be discouraged! Hang in there!

You should not give up on it. Yes, there are some real interesting users out there, who feel the need to lecture, etc, but there are plenty of good people out there who trade regularly. If you did get sworn at though, there are e-mail addresses and mods you can report that to by forwarding the e-mail to them, as that is not allowed in the least.

But I think you get that in any environment, including a place like DPF here. A wide range of opinions concerning different topics and how to handle them.

There are those who are doing it for the fun, and try to be courteous, polite, and even try to teach a little to help others, and there are those who might just keep to themselves and might even be a little curt in their responses. To me, that is not a reason to give up, but to try harder.

I totally agree!

I love getting Pinpics requests, I dont have great traders, and rarely get trade matches, so I dont get that many trade requests. I find trading goes in waves, I can have weeks or months of no trading, and then ten will come at once! Having been trading for years, my wants are now probably the harder to get pins, so I really don't expect to get regular trades. Trading experiences can be different for everyone, it depends what sort of pins your after and what you have to offer.

Hang in there!

So sorry for your bad experience. I thought I would share on this as I have been both on the sending and receiving ends of some ridiculous offers via pinpics. I am a fairly new user and just the other night I somehow sent out some seriously stupid offers, upside down is an understatement. I honestly do not know how to use it so what I thought was just looking at what I "could trade" to get a pin ended up being sent to who knows how many people. Needless to say I was totally mortified which was yet compounded by the most polite, I mean like most Disney Princess behavior at its best response from what turned out to be a fellow DPF member which was something like "thank you so much for the offer but I already have that pin" (not verbatim) mind you I offered a DSF Cupcake for this Pin 86668: Disney Store Europe - Young Charlotte and Tiana

On the flip side of that when I first joined I got a LOT of insane offers, like my PODMs for their highly scrapped hidden Mickey SINGLE pin! I was honestly offended like do you think I am stupid type of offended. After my own crazy offer being sent out I have a new found patience for crazy offers as who knows if they know what they are doing or not. I have to admit (shame face) that I may have sent a not so nice response to an offer of something totally crazy but even I (admitted potty mouth) refrained from tossing any sailor worthy words at them.

Soooo I personally would suggest that you brush off the one meany d-bag response and keep on truckin! If one bad apple ruined the whole batch nothing good would exist. If you consider the possibility that either the offer really was terrible (kidding, no offer should be met with dirty language, you could be a kid sheesh) OR that they like me, and every other person that uses it is/was at one time a new user that may not fully understand the reasoning or the place that an offer came from, OR they are just an $%^&*()@@$% face and they needed someone to spew their nasty attitude at.

Good luck either way and be safe out there!

This type of thread has been showing up more and more. Im shocked you got a nasty reply, i never have and i have made some real insulting offers (sometimes on purpose cause im a real stinker) I dont rely on pinpics but anytime i get a pin thats a trader i do the "what can i get for this pin" search--just once and see. I agree with all above that trading for me has come in huge waves.....a dead 2 weeks and then BOOM 6 trades in a week? YOu can look at my crap--i like to trade.

Tinker...A why is your name different? Are you hiding from someone? and B---why would you even go get thinds churned up with the pinpics issue up there^? girl you be crazy!

I just want everyone to have their happy place....one thing to remember, i think overall the number of traders is about the same....BUT accesibility is crap. No more disney auction/disney shopping/disney store pins....so if you dont live near a park its much more difficult and frustrating to trade via on-line. My advice SAVE EVERY PENNY, do you homework online andget to the big event in WDW in sept, cause i traded my butt off and got lots of most wanted pins---just sayin. It can be less expensive than you think.

Thats a shame :( I did my first set of pinpic trading last night - had some great replies! It helps if you start off the emails like "Hi Im a noob! Please excuse me if you think Im trying to pull the wool over your eyes...:"

I find this works great! Hey, if you want some easy pin trading - look me up on pin pics. Im y2kcbr Ill do some trading! Im addicted!

Thank you everyone for all your kind words. I really appreciate it.

Like I said, I don't really get discouraged when there is no response. That is just fine to me and I just assume my pin didn't catch the other person's fancy.

When I get responses like, "Come on now?" or "Yeah, not worth my time." and then an eventual blow up from somebody, then it is bad times.

I try to look at LE size, trades/wants ratios, and sometimes ebay prices if I know I am asking for something pricey. I don't think I have any hidden mickey's that aren't a part of a specific keeper collection.

It was just a really bad experience.

I don't think I can send more requests out there through pinpics.

I love trading though when I get the chance and won't stop that. :)

I in no way blame pinpics for anything and really greatly appreciate having them there.

Cowcio - I'm sorry, for some reason my email was hiding your message from me. I found it and sent you a reply. It was a very nice and cordial message. :) Thank you so much.
