DSF release guidelines for June 1 2013 release
But from DSF's perspective, they shouldn't care about what happens at the trading tables.

And if pins stay on the shelf for 2 weeks, that's a good thing for them because it means that when people come in they have something to sell. Empty shelves are not always a good thing for retailers, because it means people leave disappointed, and are less likely to come back (why bother, they won't have what I want). It leads to inconsistent sales, and while DSF won't have the problem because pins are small and don't take up much floor space, in general when people see empty shelves they think something is wrong.

And back to trading, in a growing market, eventually those LE500s will move. Just like the LE300s that followed the LE150s eventually moved. As traders, we should want the market to grow, but it can't if the supply is too limited.

There is nothing wrong with a LE500 Skippy or Ray. Look at it, LESS people have them to trade than Rapunzel, and it's right in line with many of the LE300 pins. The rest disappeared into collections. Availability should play a role in what determines trade value, and the availability of those pins is just as limited. And they still sold out twice as fast as the PTD pins did in the previous years so from DSF's perspective they shouldn't fear them.

hm... **thinks**

some of the PTD's, one or two marquee's last a couple days.... In fact the finding nemo marquee, le500, is not as highly tradeable as others. trading: 56, wanting 76. not good numbers, especially for a marquee.

Heres what I find for le500's when i search them in pinpics:
**link removed, didnt work.**
I know there are others, for instance in this search the nemo marquee didnt even show up. However, in general le500's tend to not sell out for a little while.

When at the trade tables, if someone sees a dsf pin, they like it. The instant they see its a le500, not 300, the want factor changes, and they won't trade as hard to get it. doesnt matter what it is, le500 DSF pins do not do as well in face to face trades.

link removed, it didnt work....

Being available for a couple days does not change a pins profitability, it only increases availablitiy. They STILL have LE 300 Secret of the Wings pins if I am not mistaken. And they had those Peter Pan pins for close to a month, LE 300. Monster's inc saw the LE 300s sit for months while the LE 500 marquee sold out. Wreck it Ralph Marquee gone in a day. Iron Man 3 LE 500 Gone before 10 am. 300 + people in that line. its not necessarily the LE size, as it is the subject of the pin IMO.

popularity wise... while it does have a punzel... its an ugly punzel... some of the older DSF punzels that are ugly trade horribly. Maybe this one will be just as bad for trades.

While I agree the Rapunzel pin is not too attractive, I am hoping I can afford the pin to add to my collection! :hsd:

I am so super jelly as I sit here at the break table at work, wishing I was there having a great time visiting with everyone. Hope you all stay safe and warm, miss you all.

Someone eat a PTD for me!
