But from DSF's perspective, they shouldn't care about what happens at the trading tables.
And if pins stay on the shelf for 2 weeks, that's a good thing for them because it means that when people come in they have something to sell. Empty shelves are not always a good thing for retailers, because it means people leave disappointed, and are less likely to come back (why bother, they won't have what I want). It leads to inconsistent sales, and while DSF won't have the problem because pins are small and don't take up much floor space, in general when people see empty shelves they think something is wrong.
And back to trading, in a growing market, eventually those LE500s will move. Just like the LE300s that followed the LE150s eventually moved. As traders, we should want the market to grow, but it can't if the supply is too limited.
There is nothing wrong with a LE500 Skippy or Ray. Look at it, LESS people have them to trade than Rapunzel, and it's right in line with many of the LE300 pins. The rest disappeared into collections. Availability should play a role in what determines trade value, and the availability of those pins is just as limited. And they still sold out twice as fast as the PTD pins did in the previous years so from DSF's perspective they shouldn't fear them.
