Wow. Hope the rules work better this time. Pretty harsh changing it to random numbered lot drawing, but I guess this is what they've been forced to do

That probably is one of the fairest ways to handle it based on past events.

Hopefully having 200 vouchers discourages ppl from lining up too early. How early would ppl get there without being guaranteed a pin?

Still not going to stop the madness leading to the opening of the esplanade 12 hours prior to the release for those first 200 fighting for a spot. Unless of course the release isn't as popular as one might expect.

This actually gives me faith in the chance at getting a set for trade. I am willing to attempt this release if they stick to their guns and remove early lines. The random drawing is good, because the first person might get #200. lol

But at the same time the random draw is still wristbands and folks will still want to be in the top 200.

whew...i thought it was gonna say something about handing out bats and clubs and letting the chips fall where they may...nurse and dentist on duty....but this sounds good to.

I love Bongo also bongobear...maybe someone will trade or sell me one...hint hint

Good. I wasn't sleeping over for this release anyway. Once the low priced presales that are not selling fade, I can trade for the Rapunzel pin. Of course, my main concern would be for a Surprise pin as I do any DSF release.

So I'm assuming the PTD won't sell extra Friday night?

I will get my PTD ice cream no matter what when I get there friday night. If I achieve 2 sets then I will decide what to trade from there... If to many people show up, chances are DSf will just switch to 1 set per person, they did it before, they can do it again. No big deal.

I am feeling laid back about this release. I hope others feel the same. :)

They're getting closer to solving the problem. Raffles kinda stink, but I think it could really stop people from going crazy and waiting for days on end. That way it also gives the little guy a chance to walk up at the appropriate time and still get a shot.

And here are the first glimpses of the lottery system, but why limit it to only 200 voucher chances?

Seems to me that there will still be a mad scramble to be the first 200 for a chance at the the draw.

Lines will still form and people will continue to form multiple lines and call themselves the "official, by the rules, line". Which we all know is hardly true in either case.

The only effective thing is that only 75% of the 200 draws will "win" and that alone may discourage enough people from showing up to make the crowds a little less. Absolutely would not work, in the case of a BT release though.

The obvious root issue is clear: The LE size is too low.

The part about groups paying separately or together with the person who has the best voucher number seems worded a little unclearly. I hope that doesn't cause a problem of, y'know, twenty people claiming they're all in a group together so they can all get the good number...

I am also perplexed why they chose to do 200 vouchers, as opposed to 150 bc of the edition size. It will be interesting to see how this new system will turn out, give that the #'s are kinda off. I must admit I'm now nervous/skeptical of arriving too early, in the fear I will somehow draw #151-200 bc of my luck  lol I hope to shoot for being in the middle of the line.

And yes the root issue is the edition size of these pins are just too low. Plain and simple. Hopefully this new system will exacerbate that fact and we'll see LE 500/750s soon. It's a good start that the 4th of July pins are LE400, although I'm not sure if that was coordinated to the fourth of July (4=400) or they're finally understanding and trying to raise edition sizes to see how it goes...

It says "highest voucher number", that means if the group has 5, 10, 15 and 20 then you can each pay individually in voucher number line order, or get together with "20" and pay together.

For this release I have a feeling they won't sell out till noon. Punzel and mad hatter will go quick. I'll pick up whatever's left if anything at all.lol

Actually it says "or can pay together with the highest voucher" so my assumption would be that if your group is # 5, 20, 140. you all stand together as #140.

Let's wait and see how this works. It seemed that a lottery system was the most supported idea on DPF so let's see whether proof was in the pudding or not. I do think the LE size should be increased but I think that of every popular pin in the world. At the moment, I think we need to see if this causes problems or not. I can see there being a problem with "the first 200 in line getting to get a chance" but if they made it 1 per person, they could have up to 400 people in line who could get a chance.
