DSS/DSF/GSF January 2014 flyer has been released + rules for 1/18
Maybe some one can answer this question. I will be at DLR for the Tink Half from Jan 16-20. We are staying at the Hilton Anaheim, so right across from DLR. We are not getting a rental car though.

What is the easiest/cheapest way to get to GSF? Id love to go. Also how can I find out if there is anything going on/showing at El Captain? We can probably take a cab, but does anyone have any idea what that would cost etc. Is there a bus/train option?

Thanks

It is really far from DL, I think you could rent a car for waaaaaay less than it would cost you to take a cab. GSF is in Hollywood, check it out on a google map...faaaaarrrrrr away. Maybe a forum member can take you? Ask around.

Given I'm an east coaster who doesn't live be either park, I can't really tell you the perfect way to get to GSF, but when I went in August, I can tell you from the perspective of an vactioner that it's smartest to rent a car and make sure the car has a GPS in it (or bring your own).

From the GPS I had, it said an average ride from DLR (we stayed at a hotel 2 blocks from the DLR main entrance) of 36-45 minutes...that's a lie. It's 36-45 minutes without traffic, traffic (especially right at the end) can delay you 1 hour at its best, if you go at the worst times (not sure when they are) I've heard people in traffic for hours upon hours.

For this reason, if you want to get to the BT release and not miss the wristbands (since it would suck if you guys rented a car and did this whole thing only to miss the release due to traffic), since you guys probably aren't CA-master drivers, you should leave hours in advance (I know that early there is less traffic but at least leave probably 6 am if you want to be there by 8...IDK when the wristbands are released, if they're released at 7am, leave by 5am). That's my recommendation.

People who actually live in CA could provide much better information when it comes to going to GSF, once you're there, etc. but I was just shocked at how hard it was to get there due to traffic :) So be prepared...

All Saturday releases. I will be in Tennessee for the first one so cant go to that, but I can attend the BT and Valentines. Ug... of course. i can attend the ones that are gonna be nut-ballz crazy. Figures.

The cheapest way for you to get there would be to take the bus to the Anaheim train station, take the train to LA and then the subway to Hollywood & Highland and there it is. But, getting times to line up without wasting a whole day is a challenge, especially on weekends.

Personally, your best bet is to hitch a ride with one of us locals and split the gas. I wouldn't even consider a cab; you could buy all the GSF pins released in one month for less than that price.

What time so they start giving out numbers?! I will be there the weekend the beloved tales comes out for the tinker belle half marathon and need to go get those!!!!

DSS doesn't announce it until 2-3 days before the release, so look for it around January 14th or 15th

Rent a car, it'll cost maybe $50 max. If there's a group of you, that's good :)

Tinker boy how many of you are there? If you can help with gas and parking money, you can ride with me depending on how many people you have. I can fit three extras in my car!

Wow, GSF bringing in the new year with nice pins!!!! While we have not seen the Envelopes, the 2 we can see are NICE! I almost wish the villains one could be a full-blown set as opposed to just these 4. I'd love to see a whole bunch of villains decked out like that, but for any villains collectors, wow those are nice O_o

As for the Beloved Tales, thank heavens the actual characters are the 3D aspect, I still have no idea what was the thought process behind some of them (like why is Flit the 3D part in Pocahontas, and why is the Rabbit 3D in Enchanted, not Giselle?!?!?)
