Well I can't really vent to my parents and friends about pin trading they think I am silly. I traded a stitch admission ticket for a minne admission ticket. I didn't mind doing my first internet trade with a $2.95 pin. We emailed each other our address last Saturday to mail the pins out. On Monday I mailed out my pin and emailed the confirmation number but didn't receive a email back. So I emailed again and asked about the status of the pin being mailed out to me and if they had a confirmation number. Still no email reply. So now I have to wait another week and I can go through the process of filing a complaint to the mods and turning them in the the postal service. I may even file a internet scam report and a police report if I can find out if that's the persons real name and address. I know its a lot for a small dollar pin but they could do it to someone else for a higher cost pin. I am bummed on my first pin trading try.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. Made a trade with someone, sent my pin right away. Now it's been almost a month and still no pin. On the 17th, person said they forgot, that they sent it and gave me a delivery confirmation number. Looked up the number yesterday as i felt it was just taking a little too long even with holiday mail. D/C number doesn't exist. I hope it happens to show up tomorrow. If not, I need to email again and see what I get.

I'm losing my love for pinpics. I'm finding it is a waste of time between no responses (the majority) and no thank yous. I really think it needs updating to weed out all the inactive people.

So sad Good thing it's only one pin!

But don't despair, it could just be the holidays and all that people are busy and not responding to messages! Maybe it will show up after Christmas!

I actually had a fail with my first trade too. The person said they were out of town and that they would mail the following Friday. Then when I sent a follow up email they seemed surprised that I had not received it yet but they said they did not use DC if less than 3 pins. I wrote it off a a bad apple in the bunch. I have done many trades on pinpics since then with no issues whatsoever. I even have a couple regulars that I trade with.

Don't let one bad person ruin this glorious hobby/addiction for you!

ICK! bummer. Yeh i dont know what to say. Did you check their references? I have a whole write up i use and if i offend or turn off traders then fine. I ask everyone mail with a dc#....when i get the number i run it immediatly. If people have little or no reference i ask they mail first and when i see it scan with the post office i will mail immediatly. Also i have weird stuff like people offereing ME PINS AND I REPLY and send my addy and then never hear from them...and then like 2 weeks later another ofer? And then no response? so weird. Im trying to trade more in person/at events and with folks on here.

Someone from here sent me a picpics request, so I PMd them and havent heard back
xD

Yeah lol, that happens to me too. First I send them a Pinpics request and no response, so I send them a PM here...still no response. I send them a 2nd PM in case...nope, nothing lol Yet their activity is on nearly everyday. And it has happened multiple times, I think 2-3 members that has happened to me lol A simple "not right now" is fine because then I know to stop wondering, but until that I always wonder if maybe the trade could have gone through but they haven't seen it yet

In terms of the OP, I agree with you about never getting a response back. I finally nearly got a trade on Pinpics off the ground, e-mailed them my address...and nothing lol I have much better luck here, but sadly sometimes people on Pinpics just have the perfect match ^_^

Thanks for the info. Sorry for all the bad trades. The trader didn't have any feedbacks but I gave them the benefit of doubt since I don't either. I probably will not trade with anyone if they don't have feedback and guess if they want feedback from me they can look at my ebay profile. Trying to trade on here too but I guess I need 30 post to post in the trade forum lol

You do need 30, but I made my first trade with I think 20 or something posts. You can still PM people which is great and it is a polite way of asking certain people what they might be expecting to trade for those pins so that you can look for those pins in the future

Oh 20 post is much better I am almost there. Yes its a lot of work but I do look at members wants and keep a look out for them I actually got some pins that I saw some members wanted but forgot who it was. So now I have started to write it down and keep track of them.

It can be incredibly discouraging to recieve so few responses with pinpics trade assistant. And your right, they really do need to delete inactive members.

I take the good with the bad on pinpics and utilize it mostly as a way to track what I own or want these days. I have not sent a pinpic trade request in 2 months. And my replys to TR's are generally done only if I have time.... It is the holidays and I am a mom of 2 little bouncing pixies.

make sure your pinpics account is totally up to date and check out this thread i wrote for tips and tricks.

Sorry to hear this I never use pinpics because I NEVER get any responses and the one and only trade that actually went through I got 3 counterfeits >.<

I'm sorry to hear that you got counterfeits so hard to trust people anymore. I think I am going to just try to trade with members on this forum everyone seems so nice and a family away from home. Its nice to have other people to talk/vent to and also love Disney so much. Not everyone I know likes to talk Disney as much as I do and I think I bore them.

I'm sorry to hear that. I for one had the same problem once with high end pins happened twice.
I stopped trading on line for a very long time. Now I'm afraid to send pins out, so I'm trying to do my trades in person at pin meets.
Well the at least it wasn't an expensive pin.
Have a wonder Christmas sweetie !

My sister got a scrapper once (the Silver Mist gold card collection pin) with a very obvious border. She figured it wasn't worth the postage ($2.50 to send back plus the postage she paid to send her pin to the person $2.50) since the pin wasn't going for that much anyhow. We eventually got a real Silver Mist pin and the scrapper was thrown away (before I decided to paint!)

Don't given up hope. Things happen, especially during the holidays. I have had several good trade experienes with PinPics trades. I definitely look at references when considering multi-trades or for "high want" pins.

Thank you everyone, I got my pin on Christmas Eve. It came in a regular postage envelope. It has some scratches and dings in it but it will do until I can find another. Hope everyone had a great Christmas.
