Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
@lordofanime Really sorry to hear you went through that today. Even though I'm a college-aged girl (yay for midterms and finals - not), I still sometimes get an odd look or occasional off comment in relation to my love of Disney and dolls (MH and Disney specifically). I always figure if others can wear Pokemon, Adventure Time, and My Little Pony-themed stuff, I can certainly show my love of Disney and it's related merch.

One point I'd like to make though is this: if you never express your passions or talk about the things you love, you'll miss a lot of people who love the same stuff. Heck, they start opening up more when they see how enthralled you can get with 'childish' things. XD Just last week I found a girl in my class who's just as obsessive over Peter Pan as me, if not more! And I never would have learned of my best friend's love of dolls if I hadn't shown her my collection and reminisced together on past childhood favorites (which we secretly still wish we owned).

I'm sorry people make you feel bad for the things you love!!! :( It sucks that people cant just let people be themselves...and societies stupid gender roles ruining the way people think!! I dont understand why people get mad at others for liking certain things! Surely everyone is entiltled to their own opinion and can enjoy and like what they want!! You always have us guys to obsess/go crazy over disney stuff with :D

So cute ^_^!!!

It's a shame you had to encounter this idiot today, you know people like that are all talk and think they are the big I am. The thing is I bet a lot of people who say these silly things would probably watch Family Guy, Simpsons or South Park so they love cartoons/animation just as much as any Disney fan. Biggest difference is ours always has a happy ending haha!

I'm 27 and I've recently had a baby girl so my love of Disney will only grow. My husband is 33 and has a "man cave" in our house where he plays his xbox/ps3 and he will probably still be playing it when he is 43. He also loves transformers and comics.

We we all have our own hobbies and interests which is what makes us unique. If everyone liked the same thing the world would be a very boring place.

Oh and I love the Lion King too :)

Anyone in the UK and Europe that is not happy with yesterdays disgusting price rise I am writing to the Director of the UK Disney Store. Anyone that wants the name and address to write to please message me. I need an answer as to why this has happened.

I've been saying this to my friends all week so I decided to make a meme XD ...so worried about the dsf release on Friday @_@ I just want it to be over with.

She's so sweeeet! I saw that costume on a mannequin a while ago it's so beautiful I was really impressed by the quality

Guys.. I need to vent.. something shitty happened today.. please scroll down if you don't want to hear me vent cause it has nothing to do with the dolls but with frozen :'(

So.. All of my life, I've been hiding the fact that I love animated movies because a guy can't like animated movies. Well, a couple of months ago, I decided that I will no longer hide it.
You don't know how hard it is for a Middle Eastern 19 yr old straight guy to admit that he likes animated movies.
So for the past few months, I've been getting **** from everyone. My family, my friends, and even strangers. I remember my parents and siblings getting mad at me for buying Disney shirts and for watching Disney movies and listening to disney songs. My sister even goes as far as to hate Brave because I was obsessed over the movie. But the straw that broke the camel's back happened today..
I was sitting in class and I was talking to my friend and I told him that the excitiment for frozen is killing me. Suddenly, this random guy is like "Is that that kids movie?" and I responded by saying "Yes, It's the animated movie". He then says "Dude, would you keep it down? You don't have to embarass everyone around you!"

WTF was that? Why is it so bad for me to like animated movies when other people are obsessed over sports or about games that are full of prostitues?

He then proceeded to tell me to be careful when I go to the movie, cause I'm going alone and I'm a guy!

When I told my family that I'd be going alone to Disney World cause the last time i went with them i couldn't explore the entire place (They got lazy and we ended up skipping Animal Kingdom (Big Lion King fan here) and Epcot!) my parents stopped talking to me and are still pissed off. My sisters don't bring it up anymore because they get upset too.
I know it's not about me spending money, because I am spending money that I have earned by working myself to sickness. working the crazy shifts when no one wants them. I saved up for a year and a half and then I finally decided that it is time for me to take a vacation froma very stressful schoold year!
The only person who has been comftrable with me liking frozen and disney and my trip to disney is my best friend. She isn't excited about frozen at all, but she is enjoying seeing me freak out about it because I AM HAPPY! That is why yesterday I ended up getting her both Anna and Elsa. She put up with me for the past month and didn't complain once! It's sad when there's only 1 or 2 people who like you the way you are, in a world full of 7 billion people.

I am sick and tired of this treatment. I'm seriously thinking of going back to conceling it all within.

I am sorry about venting.. but I failed my quiz cause I was pissed off about what that idiot said.

That's horrible! I am so sorry to hear you feel that way! That guy sounds really unable to think outside the box, and just cause he doesn't understand he shouldn't make you feel crappy about it.
I kind of get it, I'm a 25 years old I'm a woman (sorry if I act like a brat on the internet sometimes disney does stuff to mea and i get over excited -_-) All my friends love animation cause we are in the business but about half of them snub Frozen because it's not very 'fine art', and it's not 2d, they think it lacks innovation blah blah...gawd, so even if you do an animation degree filled with people who love animation and go into a job in kids animation surrounded with people who love animation - there will still be people who tell you a particular cartoon is too childish. There's just ultimately going to be people like that absolutely everywhere!
Also, I can't always tell people just how much I love doll collecting, aaand my little pony, and monster high which isn't even a retro nostalgic thing. My parents know, but the rest of my family don't know because I just never talk about it with them as I don't think they'find it interesting! I think they'd think it's very childish. They also don't know the level to which I'm excited about Frozen coming out :D
But, it's ok because some of my friends get it and are excited and I can just tell them :D It's really nice you have that friend to share with and you might make more friends with the same interests as you get older because particularly in high school/college age a lot of people still worry about what people think. Theres probably a lot of people at your school who are excited for Frozen but don't express it
One of my friends is always repressing his mad love and enthusiasm for tractors because no one wants to hear, so we listen to him talk about them...it's kinda boring but its nice to see him him so happy haha

Thanks Guys!!!

This just made my shitty day!! You guys are the best! I'm whipping up a surprise with someone in the forum here to keep y'all occupied until the next LE release! So look out for that!

And seriously. You guys are awesome!! Thank You Thank You Thank You!! T_____________T
chin up fella life is too short! Screw what people think. If people think like that they are not worth your time ;)

lordofanime- I'm a little late on this but don't worry about what people say. I have multiple straight guy friends that also enjoy Disney as much as I do and they're amazing people. If it's a part of who you are then be proud of it.
Also, not sure how much this would interest you, but if you're in school I strongly recommend applying for the Disney college program. It was such an amazing experience for me and I never felt ashamed for loving Disney because most everyone there feels the same way! Just an idea :)
best of luck~

@lordofanime I seriously cannot believe the ignorance of some people, people should be free to enjoy what that want and as hard as it is its better to enjoy yourself than change for others. It took me a long time but I found friends and hobbies that like me as a person and support me for who I am, it will happen, i'm sorry.

thanks to discount codes and early christmas presents I got the toddler dolls! I cannot wait to pose them how I want but here is a test run :)

Y'all are great :) so wonderful to see everyone being so supportive. As a 35 year old guy, I know how negative people are about guys liking dolls. Everyone picked on me, except my mom - she started my Disney doll collection back in 1990, ever since it's ever growing!!! Chin up fellas! We rock ;)

Has anyone else ordered something on the Disney store website, and customer service stated that it was processing even though it only shows up as active on your order history? I'm going to end up with an extra set of Anna and Elsa because they would not cancel my order.

@lordofanime

Hm, I guess my first thought is, where on earth do you live that it's frowned upon to like cartoons? I've liked them my whole life and never really had any outcast issues. I was the annoying guy in my group who was always belting out lyrics to Disney songs, and those around me who were used to it joined in (some rolled their eyes or stormed off, but who cares about them?). People hate on you because you like Disney? That's a new one to me.

I guess it comes down to what's more important to you: things that make you happy or what you can do to make others happy. Personally, I've always been in the mentality of, if their opinion should matter, they'll be on my side in the first place.

When I was a kid (grade school), I was into girls' toys (My Little Pony, Jem, girly things like that). Needless to say, I got picked on All. The Time. But I really didn't care. I played with those things because I llllllloved them. I didn't get upset when my peers questioned me; I owned being "different".

If you like things that make you unique, you need to man up and see the awesomeness of it. I'm not going to go on about how shitty your family and friends are, because that doesn't even matter. The important part is you have passions, so you're the lucky one. A lot of people just float through life doing what everyone around them is doing. BORRRRRRRING!

I think you should focus on the people who get you. I'd love to have a friend who dorks out with excitement over Frozen coming out (or over anything else for that matter). I'm sure your best friend loves it, too.

I know you just needed to vent and probably weren't even looking for advice--but you're getting some anyway!

That is great! I hope I get my blast off email soon! If they ship today we will most likely get them on Monday which is what I pretty much thought. Can't wait ♥

It's a "wipe the sweat off your brow" moment for me too. I'm always worried that disney will end up canceling my order. So hearing that she's shipped takes a load off my mind. Now hopefully she'll get here in one piece.

My order has shipped too! I just hope it reaches me this time and in one piece!

I shall be crossing my fingers for all of us that we get the blast off emails and that they arrive in one piece. The downside of ordering online is that we are biting our nails hoping that they arrive unharmed especially since they are sold out. Pixies for all! ;)

I'm so sorry about what you're going through. As a Middle Eastern also, I totally understand how it feels. My family (especially my mom) give me the hardest time about my hobby and my mom went even into saying that I should sell my Disney collection, many times, even though I'm an adult and I bought my collection with my OWN money. I used to love showing them my collection but my OWN family & friends were so judgmental and emotionally hurtful that I decided it's best if every time I add a new doll, they didn't have to know about it. That's why I love spending my time online with collectors like me who truly love & appreciate the love for Disney to share & talk to about Disney collecting. Just remember you're not alone, and hold on to what Walt Disney said, "Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever." so ignore those IGNORANT IDIOTS and keep your chin up

I can't wait to go see Frozen in theaters, Elsa is my new favorite princess, and I'll even take my Olaf plush with me and enjoy it, I couldn't care less what 'idiots' will say or think! :)

@lordofanime: I'm a 20 year old male as well and I also love Disney to death and I'm a Disney doll collector. I totally get you, I'm not open with my other dude friends about my love for Disney and dolls. But we have amazing examples that some of our favorite Disney characters have taught us:

With Mulan, Ariel, Belle and Merida we learned about doing what we feel is the right thing for us even though it's against the Status Quo in society or even your parents´ will. Rapunzel taught us that we have to persue our dreams and aspirations in life, even if we have to escape from our Mothers to do so, lol.

And as Elsa would say: "Let it go!...I don't care what they are going to say!"

You forgot Pocahontas, lol. She's up there with these rebellious women :)
