Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
The nominees for best animated feature are "The Croods," "Despicable Me 2," "Frozen," "The Wind Rises" and "Ernest and Celestine."

With Frozen's success at the Golden Globe Awards, I think it is a pretty safe bet that it will probably win the Academy Award, too! :)

They closed my local store last June and now my closest is a 3 hour drive away :(
ah that's so much worse than me!! i'm sorry! :(

*gasp* no Pixar?!?!?!!?!
i was surprised too, i was pretty surprised they didn't make it into the golden globes either.

now i need to go look up what "Ernest and Celestine" is about!!

EDIT:
i have not watched "the wind rises" yet but i've read the synopsis and some reviews and it seems like a REALLY controversial film. i'll be really surprised if it wins the academy.

The wind rises might win. Because it's Hayao miyazaki's last movie and it's a war historical movie.. And the academy loves movies like that.

It's not actually his last movie. I dunno if it's been confirmed or not, but his pattern is to say that he's going into retirement and then like three months later he comes back and makes another movie.

I hope Frozen wins, it deserves to win imo. It's one of the first Disney movies in a while to take on a more progressive view. And we know how much of a traditionalist Disney likes to be.

how did you guys even manage to watch "the wind rises"
i read disney took the NA distribution and they even dubbed it and everything but it was only in theaters for one week? in november? is that right? was that what happened?

the dvd's not out yet, at least not on amazon and i even tried to find somewhere to stream it. but no dice.

I would hope that Frozen wins best animated picture because it is a really good movie and it's been a long time since Disney was in command in this category. I would love to see "Let It Go" win for best song but it won't beat out U2 song  . I really think it's an outstanding song and with most of the movies songs.

I just got the large olaf toy and the Anna and Elsa mugs from the disneystore, now all I need is the snowglobe. I really hope it comes back.

I hope so too!! I keep hearing conflicting information on that. I spoke to a cast member from the online store today and she was positive they would be coming back in stock. She told me to just keep checking back everyday!! Keeping my fingers crossed she is right =) Best wishes on finding one soon =)

Quite a Few things are back in stock on the Uk site :) including the Hans doll!

Yay!! Please send some of your good luck our way =) It looks like different things are popping back up everyday, so hopefully that is a good sign for those of us that are waiting for those special items to reappear!

Does anyone think the dolls (12" and singing Elsa) will ever be back in stock? I managed to get Elsa right before Christmas. All my Disney Store has now is Animators Anna and 12" Hans. I want that singing Elsa but she's going for $90 on Ebay now!

Dont buy her on eBay!! The stores will get her back sometime between now and the release of the DVD. She also came back online the 10th, but sold out!! I'm sure they will probably get the 12" dolls back as well! Just keep checking online and with your store on a regular basis. Hang in there and good luck =)

My apologies to any U2 and/or Bono fans (not intending to offend anyone), but I have always thought Bono one of the most pretentious people. While I like that he fights for important issues, his self-righteousness while doing it is revolting. "Ordinary Love" is okay, but it is far from memorable. Because it was written for the Mandela movie, the song got the support of the Golden Globe judges and most likely the Academy judges. I hate politics playing into these decisions, but it is what it is. "Let It Go" is more memorable, in my opinion. I have listened to "Ordinary Love" three times and can't remember any of the lyrics other than the title words. Many comments on the YouTube video I watched assured us that if we just listened to "Ordinary Love" a few times, we would love it too. Yeah, watched it three times, and I still don't like it. Doesn't really matter what I think, though.

Yeah I told my wife that I thought it won really because it was a combination or U2 and a movie about Mandela but I didn't think it was a good song, now I'll have to watch it in the movie to see if it really does lend itself to be a good song and relevant of that title. Frozen suffers from being an animated film (that has a broadway soundtrack) and people that are voters that just don't like animation won't give it a second or third look. Oh well, we know how good "Let It Go" is and that's all that matters in my mind!!!

Yup. I agree. I, too, want to see the movie. But I doubt it will change my mind about the song. And, as you say, the fan base knows "Let It Go" is better. I believe views on YouTube are way over the number for "Ordinary Love."

As for Frozen merch on eBay, I just watched an auction on 12" Classic Elsa end at $66. Wow. I bought my Singing Elsa January 10th, after I finished the preorder for the LE dolls. At one point, I foolishly thought these dolls would hit clearance, as all the previous Singing dolls have in past years. Silly me. When I saw it this time around, I figured I had better buy her (and Anna). THey came the other day--both are so pretty.

quick rant: my brother in law and younger sister have been singing 'do you want to build a snowman' all day! oh my gahh!! hahah! :end rant: hahah!

My husband already told me to stop singing "Let it Go" because he doesn't want to hear it so much he gets sick of it. Sad thing is, he does this with everything I sing and so I just feel like I can't sing around him.
:(

Sorry your husband is a grump. You shouldn't let him stop you from singing if you enjoy it.

Saw this and I couldn't stop laughing:

So the thing that bothered me most in Frozen wasn’t the animation or the story. It was this part:

“And by the way I don’t see no ring!”

OF COURSE YOU DON’T YOU DIMWIT

DO I NEED TO SAY WHY

I remember us talking about this a few weeks ago.

Reporter: A big question people are wondering is whether you’ll perform at the Oscars.

Idina: I will if they ask me! I’ll be in the middle of tech for If/Then, but hopefully we’ll tech a part that I’m not in. I’ve already got permission if they ask—cross your fingers!—that I can get out there and do my thing and just try to really have fun with the idea.
