Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
I agree! The movie is Disney's version of the snow queen and named Frozen! I was not impressed like most said back when the photos were first released! My cast members held one for me when they first got them but I passed because I wasn't inspired and hoped Disney would give me a better option...still waiting...lol

Aren't we all. I don't know what Disney is thinking. They could make a killing off of us if they made some larger, more detailed Frozen snow globes. Fingers crossed that one will come out with the new merch for the Blu-ray release.

So it turns out that the rumours about them changing the box for the toddler dolls from the Frozen one to the DAC one are true. I went to one of my local Disney stores today and of course no Elsa, but they did have Anna and she was in the DAC boxes. From what I was able to see it appears as though the outfit she is wearing is the same one as before although I may be wrong as I did not take a lot of time to compare the two.

Without starting a riot ... in the past few weeks, I've been in four different DS locations (hey, this is NJ ... home of the shopping mall!) and have heard different things from CMs in each. (And we all know how reliable that information can be!) One of them told me that the Anna and Elsa Animators Collection dolls would be Limited Edition, and another told me (while insisting that he/she/it "knew" nothing) that if such a rumor were true, it might mean different outfits at least. Again, no idea if any/all/none of this is true, so don't get your hopes up. But since the topic of Toddlers vs Animators Collection has come up, I figured I'd toss it out there. Personally, I hope it's true, because my Animators Kristoff is lonely and I don't like the Toddler versions of Anna and Elsa. (Elsa, in particular, creeps me out.) I guess we'll see what happens in the coming weeks as merch continues to roll in and fly right back out again!

Im so confused. I thought the Toddler dolls were completely different looking than the DAC dolls. Why do the same dolls but in different packaging. Makes no sense to me. I dont these, and was hoping for cuter dolls.

Well I guess Ill just hold for some new Non Frozen DAC dolls at some point.

For me the Disney store Anna and Elsa toddler dolls looks completely like the other DAC dolls.
I think they did the different packaging to make them easier for people to recognize when the dolls were first released - since if they were in a DAC box, just with their names, some people might not know who they were (at first). Think it was for better sales.
I have them in the Frozen packaging, would have preferred them in the DAC box, but not going to buy a second pair. Then I'll just see the Frozen box as a first edition and the new DAC as a second edition XD Like with the other DAC dolls (where I'm still missing Aurora, because I hate her 2nd edition and the 1st one is way to expensive).

what rumor? I stated a fact when I gave everyone this news. I don't spread rumors. If I tell you guys something, ts because I did my research.

I was not trying to infer that it was a rumour it was just the word I used due to the fact that people were talking about the boxes remaining the same or changing. I was not trying to discredit the information that you provided but was trying to support what you had said as some people were saying "if they change the box". I believed what you had said and wished to help prove that your information was indeed accurate nothing more.

Wait so they are the toddler dolls, will be the same but in DAC packaging? Im confused.

I was really hoping for new dolls, as I dont like the Toddler ones that much.

It would seem that Rapunzel set the precedent for this. Picture above of doll that looks just like the later Animator Rapunzel, face-wise. It would seem the movie-release boxed doll is the face mold you end up seeing on the later Animator boxed doll. The outfit is usually the only thing that has been different (e.g. Rapunzel and Merida).

And then there are the almost Mattel-like generic toddler dolls found in Disney Stores. I still think it is strange that they made the toddler Merida, using the Animator face mold instead of creating a Mattel-like face mold to fit in with the generic look of that entire line.

Is Disney planning to phase out the Mattel-looking toddlers in favor of the Animator-style?

As for Frozen, I really like the Anna face mold and hair, but, yeah, something about Elsa's face mold doesn't work for me. Even so, I bought them both.

The Anna doll is so adorable! I love her. Elsa on the other hand... I love her clothes, but her face is a bit... off. But, I also bought them both for my collection.
And the mattel style should just stay far away from Disney dolls... (-_-'')

. I agree, but I guess those generic Mattel-looking dolls are meant for the kids. Leave the Animators for us! LOL.

The box had sketches, right? Were they these ones? Who was the artist featured/photographed on the back?

(The boxes of these dolls are my favorite part - I couldn't resist getting Anna when she was on sale, but I'm happy to wait for Elsa in the new box.)

Yeah, this is my beef: Why just change the box? I was hoping there would be completely new dolls, but that doesn't seem to be the cost-effective method. :-P Elsa's eyes are just "off" somehow; I would have purchased an Animators Collection version IF it were actually a different face mold. But it sounds like it is literally the same doll in a different box. Blah!

I know!! I had an original Aurora but then decided I didnt want to collect the DAC dolls because they were so clunky, so I sold her. Now I love them, and have to get her again. I dont like the second version of Aurora either.

Ok makes a little more sense I guess. Ill have to look at them again, but I wasnt that impressed the first time I saw them. But at that time I also wasnt collecting DAC dolls.

Maybe some day they will release some new ones?

I am super bummed. I was hoping to order the Elsa plush doll (along with Anna plush doll) when my next paycheck comes in, and I got online tonight only to discover that Elsa is currently sold out. Add that to the rest of my crappy day (actually, this whole weekend has been pretty crappy) and well...I'm kind of an emotional mess right now.

I'm hoping that Elsa's classic and plush dolls will be back in stock soon. And the Sven and Olaf plushies...I missed out on those, too.

Yes I was waitin to order the plushes for my daughter until Sven had come back but when Elsa sold out I went ahead and ordered Hans and Anna, hopefully the others will be back in stock soon and can get them then

What I NEED is a vinylmation set with 12 different figures, a 2 pack with the parents and a 9" marshmallow.... T____T

I'm just waiting for the Japanese Disney store to reveal their Frozen merchandise when the movie is released in Japan - not getting my hopes up, but they must release something... and it's often different from the other disney stores. Buuut... who knows, I'll probably get disappointed. XD

I`m pretty positive you will be disappointed. Its a little more than a month to the release date and there really hasn`t been much in advertising.
