Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
For some reason the UK site no longer have Anna's LE page up but Elsa's page has three pictures now...i wonder why...Disney, what's so different about Anna???

Could you pm me the link to the pages? Thanks

I don't get it, there's nothing really spoiler about singing Anna (that I've seen). Her chest lights up and she sings a song we've already previewed in the final trailer. And she's in a minimal version of her snow outfit. So I'm not sure what's the holdup with her release.
Maybe they're trying to push Elsa right now, since I think they know most people are most excited to see more of Disney's Snow Queen. Or maybe there was a hold-up with the manufacturer. Who knows

I hope this is just a one off exclusive for the opening of the new harrods disney sore, I wish there wasn't a set but I can't help it I love it!

Hope you manage to get one! They are certainly gorgeous, that's for sure. Can't wait to see the pics from Polaris and others who snag a pair.

The Harrods store does not keep all their stock on the floor, so the other day when I said that the lady told me that they sold out she was referring to the stock on the floor. When the stock is depeleted they just replenish it from the stock kept at the warehouse until all the units are sold out. So they do still have some dolls available for sale. Not sure how much they have sold overall but by the sounds of things they probably still have quite a few available.

I still think the whole sister-set-Harrods-exclusive debacle is rather ridiculous. Harrods is renowned for being incredibly expensive and only for the super rich, but how can they justify charging £500 for two dolls worth less than half that and when Anna looks identical to the individual ones?! Some of my fellow collectors on here must be quite well off to afford these dolls, I could only dream of spending such a huge amount of money in one go on something like my doll collecting hobby. I don't wish to annoy or offend anyone but Harrods/ Disney are just taking the p*** with this.

Heyy I think they are overpriced too, but to be fair lets not make collectors on here who did get them feel uncomfortable :/ More than one person has already said to me they bought the Harrods set because they liked it but want to keep it quiet because of possible negative reactions.

(I got told by other kids I was 'well off' at school and it always hurt my feelings >_>)

You don't have to be well off to get them! I'm not. I just work my *** off at work for the things I want and to do. That is my reward and worth it! I don't understand why would anyone be negative about that is beyond me. We all spend out money on different things who is anyone to judge or decide??!! Never feel bad and don't let anyone make you feel bad! Sure is hell I won't

I hope no one who bought that beautiful set feel bad bc I didnt buy one...I'm an adult so understanding reality shouldn't be too hard. I made a choice like everyone else had to which was to buy or not buy...some looked at other expenses and did not buy some looked at other expenses and did buy... by not buying one I can't have misdirected anger or frustration to someone who did...yes Disney did something different this year and we all had immediate feelings about it but they are a business and it was a good business strategy from an economical view point...we don't like it because we are on the spending end of the transaction...there are a lot reasons we all had hard decisions to make but my decision is what I have to live with and that's that...if I'm mad or happy towards anyone bc of my decision its myself bc I made the decision..I'm happy for those who have them bc they wanted them and made the decision to buy them! Congratulations to you all just like I will congratulate those who decide to get the LE2500 dolls. The joy in collecting is the not only having a collection but to enjoy the process of collecting and sense of gratification in the pieces you did obtain I love every piece I have and although I can be described as OCD towards my collection its bc its mine and I worked hard for what I do have in it even if its not what Disney says is complete lol..honestly even though its not important but I'll never be complete to everyone bc there are just certain pieces Disney released that I have no desire for (the NMBC scare me with those coffins lol) and just wont be in my collection...I know we all have different opinions and they have displayed a few times on the thread but let's not make each other uncomfortable if possible and share the joy of what the thread is about..."Frozen Disney Store Merchandise: What are you looking forward to?"...for some people its the arrival of the LE100 set ...this is still just my opinion and I hope it doesn't initiate any further negativity

I see this situation from both sides.... If you have the money to spend on the things you really want, go ahead. But if you work and struggle (been there), it is very hard. I agree that places like Harrods are very elite and upscale, which is why Disney obviously did this little special edition set; to show off their product in a fancy way for a fancy place I can't afford the set either as I'm in Texas and it would be over $1000 for me, but I'm very VERY much looking forward to the dolls on the 20th! The differences are minimal, and in the end will those differences really bother is that much if we manage to snag the girls separately? Nah!

Gah I'm so excited for the 20th!!! Gotta sell some more of my collection though to fund it due to unforeseen money circumstances making me have to spend £100 !! So now I can't afford the dolls, but I'll be spending all Tommorow evening photographing and listing stuff on eBay and selling some pins here on DPF  annoyingly I worked so hard to save that money up! I cut my food budget back by 3/4 and sold so much of my Disney collection to fund my new, smaller frozen collection! So I'm super gutted about it ! It means I have probably no chance of ever getting the DSF pins, which I've been hoping to get since the movie was announced!!! Hopefully I can find a job soon and start earning money properly

Sorry for this mini rant!! Just super gutted! I should be able to save up enough before the 20th though x

I also don't really care. I mean yes, if I wasn't a student and didn't have to struggle to get the rest of the dolls throughout the year and pay for classes and live, I would probably be really apt to buy that set too, but at the same time I'd probably still be really upset with it, seeing as for the $1000 it would take for me to buy and get shipped over to the USA, I could have saved and bought other future releases or things I've missed out on. I'm sure we all wish we had enough money to buy a set like this at the drop of a hat. My complaint is not with people buying it or solely with the price, but rather the fact that they just aren't all that different. They really aren't. Which is good for people who can't afford them, but at the same time might be a bad omen. From a company standpoint, if I released a product with a couple extra sparkles for quadruple the price and they all sold out in a month or less, it probably would be a very good indication to me that it was successful, I mean heck, my company would be $80,000 just for adding a few more pieces of plastic! That would really give me the go-ahead to create more like it. We're all human, and we forget that Disney is not just someone who paces around thinking "Wow, I hope they'll like this... I hope they won't be mad because of the price... do you think it is OK that we skimped on the normal LE dolls to make this? I hope they'll still like me..." it is a multi-million dollar corporation who is constantly trying to make more money. I fear for the 17" dolls in the future, and I truly believe this won't just be a one-time thing to mark the opening of a fancy new section of Harrod's. This time it was convenient for them to have the two sisters boxed together, but I could see them doing other things in the future with sole-boxed dolls on their own doing the same thing they did with this set... glamming them up more. They figure, "Wow, if people are willing to pay this for a few extra gems on characters they might not know anything about, how much will they pay for those same extra gems on Ariel, on Maleficent, on Rapunzel?" To me, this was a test for them, and boy did they ever get the results they wanted...

Make that multi billion dollar  but I completely agree with you! I think they did it in the UK to test it too because the uk market isn't as big as the US one and if they sold out so fast over here imagine how fast and well they'd sell in America!! Now disney needs to open a DSF here so we can get the DSF pins here too

I've already missed LE Snow and I know Ill never be to justify getting her at her current market price. So I'm not a completist already which makes it easier to pass up on the harrods set. But if I was, it would suck.

I don't begrudge anyone getting them because a) it's none of my business and b) we all spend money on stuff that aren't basic needs. What I am peeved about is the poor effort disney put into their dolls. From the LE 2500 standpoint, they didn't go all out. From the LE 100 standpoint, they really should have made the dolls more unique to justify the price for the collectors willing to spend that money.

I think we will see future ultra editions dolls based upon the success of the frozen ones. Who knows, maybe next time I'd want the doll too, but they would have to make them more unique before I'd bite.

I am so happy to finally get the Frozen stuff that I've been wanting since the merch was released!! I'm on a budget, so I had to wait for some type of sale/discount and thankfully, since I have a Disney Visa, the 25%off starts today for me!!!!! I'm going to get all four 12 inch dolls, a plush Olaf and Sven, the mugs, pen set and the snow globe can't wait for the dollies on the 20th!!! And can't wait for the movie and the soundtrack! I also have the Art of Frozen book on pre order from Amazon. Congrats to all that are getting those pricey dollies...... Post some pics and share

My dad just bought the two toddler dolls and the mini dolls set for me while on his business trip. So excited to get them tomorrow. He sounded secretive, so there may be more as a birthday surprise. Yay!

I agree with this. At the end of the day this is your collection, there's no requirements that's needed to make ones collection be considered great. So collect what you want, how you want. As long as you're happy with collecting that's all that's matter!

I like how you coined the term "Ultra Editions" to describe them as that is what they are really.

I appreciate the points that you raised as well in relation to why you dont begrudge those that are getting them as that is exactly right. What people do with their own money is their own choice, whilst some might think it silly that I spend a lot on dolls I think it silly to be spending it on things like drugs or alcohol whereas for others they would happily waste thousands of dollars on things like that but I dont let it bother me at the least because at the end of the day it is their money so who cares what they decide to do with it.

Also I believe it all comes down to perception when it comes to worth of the dolls, for example for me I think that if I miss out on this set I will feel like my collection is not complete. As a result I would end up spending way more trying to get it from the secondary market so if I have the money and can get it now then why not. That is because for me the dolls are worth it as it will mean it will keep my collection complete. But if I was running off the mindset of some fellow members on the forum wherein I was comparing it against the single sets to see what the variations were and whether or not the increase in price is worth it then I would definitely agree in that the "extra sparkle" is just not worth it. So for me the dolls are worth it not because of their look but because of what they represent, so that is sort of the way I look at it to justify my purchase.

Also like you said it is my money and I earned it so I should be allowed to spend it as I want, also I dont have any commitments or children so i guess you could say I have more disposable income? Moreso than saying that I am wealthy.

The funny thing is my partner would kill me if he knew how much I spent on these dolls but in my defense he is buying another car after buying that yellow one I asked you guys to help vote on yesterday all because he doesnt want to drive the yellow one to work because he cannot park it indoors! So really why buy it in the first place if you dont want to drive it! GOSH! LOL. So now we are going to have three cars with one sitting in the garage to be driven only during the weekend So yes based on that I am justifying to myself that it is ok for me to spend that amount of money on a doll for myself haha.

Why do any of us care how others spend their own $$$$$$$$$??????????? People who smoke and drink, probably spend way more in a month than what these exclusive UK dolls cost....

Congrats on getting your doll set. I agree with you that if you have the money to afford this doll and it brings joy to your life, then you should buy it. It's truly all about choices if you have the money and if you don't I wouldn't worry about it. This doll will soon not be the latest thing anymore and for most people that will make them feel less like they are "suppose" to buy the doll. I'm still trying to get one from Harrods and I really wish I could walk into the store and buy one! I call and get put on hold forever or told that they are gone. I've decided that if I cannot get one for retail, I will need to skip the doll!
