I was wondering, on the LE releases of these dolls are they basically the same as the 11" ones? I know they have more elaborate costumes and rooted eyelashes but I wanted to know if the face mould and body are still the same? I have never purchased one (though Im sorely tempted by the new bell/beast) but Im not sure if I want to splurge or continue modifying my own dolls. I was planning on getting them new bodies and rooting thier eyelashes soon...
also, do you think LE Anna will still be half bald?
 
I hope we'll get a decent amount of time before they officially announce the 17" doll. I need to scrape up some money! haha
 
I guess I need to go bug my CM's again. I haven't heard anything about there being a pre-order for Anna. Usually they don't do a pre-order this late....well that is if they were going to release her when the movie hits theaters. May be they are planning on doing a pre-order for her then releasing her with the DVD release....these dolls are going to be the death of my bank account!

Well the LE Merida had a different face mold from the 11" doll. She did have a very similar (if not the exact same) face mold as the 16" talking doll. I don't have the LE Merida and I'm kind of kicking myself over that.

Anyways, I am guessing the LE Anna and Elsa dolls will be in their coronation outfits. The dolls are usually of the princesses in their "princess" outfits. Ariel seems to be the only exception to that.

There is a huge difference between the 11inch dolls (which I am assuming you are referring to the classic dolls) and the limited edition by which I am assuming you are referring to the 17 and 18 inch dolls? For starters there is more detail in their clothing and as you mentioned the rooted eyelashes and the hair. Also the face moulds whilst similar due to the fact that they have to look like the character is more detailed and refined. Finally there is the fact that they are limited in release hence have had more work and care put in to them when being made.

If you are referring to the designer line then yes there is still a difference. They put more detail into the costume and they use a completely different mould to the one that they use for the 11 inch classic dolls, this was explained in the video promoting the D23 expo released late July. Also like the LE line they are limited in number hence have had more care and work and care (supposedly however that is questionable after all the faults with dolls).

I thought that too but was then reminded that Merida and Elinor were released as a preorder and they were released early November so this supposed Anna release could be the equivalent of the Merida and Elinor which means that Elsa should be the equivalent of Calhoun last year which came out around the time that Wreck it Ralph was due to be released. So I would not be surprised if the preorder came up around mid to late October for an early November release.
 
I really, REALLY, hope that it's not going to be a two pack with both Anna and Elsa =/. I can do 100$ for one doll, but 200$ for two and truly only wanting Elsa, well it's just a bit much. If it is a two pack I wonder if someone will go halves with me so we could both get what we want.
 
I don't want it to be a two pack either. I have no interest in Anna and I don't want to pay extra for a doll I don't want. I didn't buy the D23 dolls because they came together and I don't want to miss out on an LE Elsa because they put her together with Anna.
 
I'm not saying of course that a limited Anna wouldn't be gorgeous and I wouldn't love to have her in my collection. But I agree with you Evlover, in a choice between Anna and Elsa (And I will have to make a choice, because I'll never be able to afford them both) I'd pick Elsa. All the way.
 
I am will all of you guys. I only want Elsa. If they do her correctly and with the extravagant detailing and glamor (THAT THEY SHOULD DO!), then it would be a bit of a let down if she was crammed to one side to allow room for the two of them in that one box. I mean...come on, she has a glorious and original gown concept as the Ice Queen. She needs to be coated in rhinestones, elegantly posed, and taking up all that space in order to beautifully showcase it.
(Just in case you couldn't tell, I am a huge fan of attention to detail.) ;)
 
I want both, but I want Anna more. I like her old country dress style more than Elsa's more modern and fashionable elegant snow gown.
 
I asked at my local store yesterday about a pre-order for Anna. She seemed really surprised and said that they hadn't heard anything yet (she didn't really seem to know much about the LE dolls though) so not super helpful!

If Disney does a 2 pack like they did with Merida and Elinor, the dolls will be $200. They just doubled the price since there were 2 dolls instead of one. Which is why I never bothered getting them.

I would go halves with you. As much as I love both characters, I want Anna more and can really only afford one of the dolls. I would take the Anna doll so you could get Elsa.

Oh wow, sorry for my ignorance! This is the first time Im really interested in getting one of the limited release dolls and I dont know much about them. Ive only seen belle at my local disney store ^^;
I know its not the popular vote but I would like if Anna and Elsa were offered together. then you only have to stress about the release once ^^;

I don't know if you saw the pictures of Anna & Elsa in the D23 set. They are in the same outfits as they are sold now, but just together in a box!
 
I went to Toys R Us today and the Frozen stuff was CLEANED OUT! Geez there was like one of each "coronation dress" doll, a plush olaf, an elsa crown, and the magiclip elsa set. Everything else was completely sold out! So popular and the movie is not even out yet. I'm trying to convince myself I don't need to get any of the Frozen stuff but I don't know how much longer I can hold out :P

The wait is killing me!!!!!!!!!! But thanks for sharing. At least now I know Elsa has a braid. From the leaked pic, I had no idea what was going on with her hair. I also didn't realize they were so far apart in age (judging by the size difference in these pix).

I've been trying not to whine too much in this thread, but has there been ANY word on when the toddler dolls are coming out? My local stores don't have them yet, nor does online, but it seems like everything else we've been waiting on is out.

I'm guessing here, but I think Anna is supposed to be around 5 when the accident happens (ie when they're children) and Elsa is supposed to be 7-9ish. But like I said I'm just guessing.

I did did hear that some disney stores might have the toddler dolls now, but we're also still waiting on the 17" singing dolls, which I think have probably been held back due to spoilers.

Shooting: let's hope so. And let's hope for a good edition size. I dunno what I'll do if I don't get Elsa. I hate scalpers. It's one of the reasons I don't really shop on eBay unless I have to.
 
Oh, wow, I totally forgot about those 17" singing dolls! Those are the ones the actors were posing with at D23, right? They looked damn good. Imagine how much better the LE dolls will look. *off to check DS UK*
