Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
You know, I don't really care about the extra bling. I think the dolls we are getting are gorgeous. If I really wanted to (which I won't because I'm lazy :p) I could buy the crystals myself to add to the gowns. It is not a hard thing to do and they would look exactly like the LE 100 ones (IMO). Sorry, it just seems silly to me. They added crystals so that makes them better quality than the LE 2500 edition? I don't really see a difference in the face molds or the fabrics they used. It looks the same to me, the only difference I see is the added crystals which can add a lot to the clothing. But I like the way LE 2500 look. However, I do like simplicity so may be its just me. Plus, many complain about the dolls at first until we see them in person. Pictures don't do these dolls justice they always need to be seen in person.

It's possible that the official photos show prototypes that have since been enhanced. The leaked photo of Elsa looks like it has more embroidery than the official does for example. Though nothing justifies that price.

Sorry but I had to put this up.

Okay, so just gonna point one thing out before I go back to dying over this situation...

This is pretty much the LE equivalent of the D23 twin pack of Anna and Elsa... right? That was $40, which is like $10 more than it would be to buy the dolls separately I THINK... this LE set is like £380 more than the separate versions (£60 each, so £120 together)...

It boggles my mind, extra crystals or not

It looks like Elsa's cape has more snowflakes. Am I the only one who's annoyed with Disney since it looks like they gave the LE 2500 dolls less detail just so they could make more detailed LE 100 dolls with a much higher price tag. That just doesn't seem right to me. It's as if to say that $100 for a doll isn't enough to expect their full effort.

I need clearer photos really to make up my mind, but yeah, this. I'm a little put off the 'regular' edition Elsa/Anna because of it.

i may end up skipping these after all. At least that's good news for the rest of the forum though :)

I personally don't care about the fancy-smanshy dolls that are UK exclusive. Meh. They know that people will pay that much, so let them. It's their money. I'm going to get Anna, definitely, and I'm thinking about Elsa...it's likely I will pick her up as well.

Still. I cannot wait to get my hands on Anna! I will be up and ready at midnight with you guys! Here's hoping for lots and lots of pixie dust and love from the wonderful link fairies!

I'm trying to think of dolls that cost that much:

Some really high end amazing ooak art dolls.
Some high end porcelain dolls.
Limited edition dolls NO LONGER being sold that are hard to come by.

but these? They look like the versions of Anna and Elsa we should be getting for $100 each. I don't think a few extra crystals and details warrants that much extra cost. Maybe they won't sell well and Disney will never do this again. They look too much like the regular ones to be anything that much more special.

I don't think it's the way they look. I think it's what they have.

If you add crystals/diamonds/Swarovski I can understand the price.

Like the ariel mirror that was D23 exclusive. Some people really like it when they use stuff like that. Elsa is pretty much a smart decision because she can be accessorised with the most expensive clear bling and she would look better.

But eh. I'm just pissed cause we should have gotten those sleeves in the regular ones.

And wow. It sounds so weird calling these $100 LE 17" dolls "regular"

I have been thinking about the price and wishing that I could buy the set, but I just can't justify it at this point. I would love to know in-depth details about the crystals and everything else. Also, does it say UK exclusive? Are we sure about that part of it? Haven't there been items released in the European market that had a sub limited amount (like Eric was 1 of 500 in Europe)? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I am just wanting find more info about whether the US will get her or not and whether that is confirmed.

There are definitely not real diamonds on there. There may be crystals but even so they just look like slightly blinged out versions. If the dolls had different outfits then maybe I'd understand. But this seems lazy.

I would have made the two-pack the coronation gowns and the singles with Anna in her snow outfit and Elsa in her ice queen gown. At least then the difference would be semi understandable. But the production cost of these must have been minimal, considering not much was altered from the LE 2500.

I was wondering why the Elsa doll wasn't more glittery. Guess they saved the bling for the LE 100...

I wouldn't worry about it too much guys. We know such little about these dolls for all we know the price tag could have been an estimate that had not been finalized yet. But until we get more details I would just worry about the original single set dolls. I for one still believe that the single set ones are amazing and to be honest because of how much the doll is listed for our brains are possibly tricking us into seeing more of something just because we are trying to justify something. Don't forget these are low light and poor quality images of the dolls. One thing for sure is that depending in the lighting used it will affect the sparkle of the dress. I wouldn't read into it too much until more detail is released but right now I would like to think disney would never do something silly like this. For starters Disney's main market is the US so why would they just do a doll as exclusive as this in the UK only? Especially with a price tag as ridiculous like that where there are fewer collectors in the UK so who would buy it? Also why would Disney only give Harrods exclusivity to sell the doll when it is in fact a Disney Store doll? Finally the movie is not coming out in the UK until Dec 6 so it doesn't make sense that they release something so expensive before people actually know what it is.

It it is because of all this that I definitely think that we shouldn't think too much into the dolls as nothing official has been announced. Because right now it just sounds like Disney is making a huge marketing error or they just sold out their Disney LE line to a third party like Harrods. It's just odd because nothing at the moment about this set makes sense so don't let it get to you I still think the original single sets are amazing and are worth the $100.

Very well said :like:

Not a fan of the sisters boxed together like that. Let alone the HILARIOUS price, my OCD can't get past the fact that Anna is in her coronation gown and Elsa is in her regular gown. If both were in their regular outfits (Elsa in snowflakes, Anna in winter gear) or in their coronation outfits and boxed together, I'd be far more interested. It just looks... off. I just don't like how those outfits look boxed together.

Also, A+ for the Malibu Stacy reference earlier. Well played, well played.

The only way I could see (not even really ...) jacking up the price like that is if those crystals were real precious gem stones. Like diamonds or rubies , ect ect lol no way it's that much.

You can buy real Swarovski crystals on eBay for craft supplies and they're not that expensive  could just buy some and stick them on the same places hahaha (jk I wouldn't do that xD)

LOL I like this idea haha. At this rate it would be cheaper to this rather than buying this set haha

My personal opinion is that they are the same two dolls put together in one box like they did with the D23 set. I do not believe they would sell these in Harrods (been in many times) and not once seen a Disney store item ever there. Plus £500 for these would be a joke. The UK market isn't like the U.S. Most of these limited edition dolls take a while to sell out. Only the really popular ones have been a fast sellout. Up until now there has not been a huge lot of publicity in the UK for frozen. Yes we have the dolls and toys here and people do look but they just comment this must be a new Disney film coming out. Only the real fans and collectors purchase. We won't see a frozen sales boom until the movie hits. It's usually always the case

I agree with you Mel, even with the boom after the movie comes out do you think people would even pay that much for them? And even if rich people were to buy them I still think they would struggle selling 100 units especially since you don't really expect to find stuff like that at Harrods. Is there a UK disney store blog equivalent that releases information in stuff like this? As I'm surprised nothing official has been announced about it.
