Earlier in the summer, the Disney Blog mentioned a set of 10 DLR Haunted Mansion gingerbread mystery pins to be released in the fall, using an online wristband distribution. The pin were also previewed at the PTNs in WDW and DLR as well as D23. Did I miss the posting of the actual release date as well as the signup for the online wristband distribution?

Before I go, there is one more set of pins you might want to get your taste buds ready for. The Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread Mystery Collection debuts October 8. What a tantalizing “treat” for any Disney pin fan. The collection features replicas of the gingerbread displays that have been the focal point of the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction for almost 10 years, created by our Entertainment Designers Brian Sandahl and Tim Wollweber. Brian and Tim will be on hand for a special signing of this collection as well, so mark your calendars now. Reminder: An online wristband opportunity will take place for this release so please watch DisneyPins.comfor more information.

It's so weird to me to see Brian Sandahl's name in this. I've known him for years through a theatre group in San Bernardino called Junior University. He's a very talented guy and I'm so glad to see him being so successful at Disney.

This might sound stupid, but ins't this a nightmare before Christmas set and not haunted mansion? Am a little confuse. I saw the pics and I was specting haunted mansion not jack and oggie boggie. Lol

At Disneyland, during the holiday season the Haunted Mansion is transformed and completely updated with set pieces for NBC to become "Haunted Mansion Holiday." They swap out the stretching portraits, hitch-hiking ghosts, and a ton of other things. If you've ever wondered how Jack Skellington would bring holiday "cheer" to people when he pretends to be Sandy Claws, this is your answer. These pins are based on the changes they make on the ride. Disneyland also has a holiday "overlay" for "It's a Small World." Kind of like what WDW used to do with the Country Bear Holiday show. Although, the HM overlay is at a whole other level, since it's not just some Christmas theming but the incorporation of the characters from a completely different project.

Florida residents know that the chefs of the WDW resort hotels and the DCL ships have a holiday tradition of creating large gingerbread Christmas displays and there have been annual WDW "gingerbread" pins to celebrate those gingerbread creations. However, the Disneyland resort hotels do not have that holiday tradition of creating gingerbread displays in the hotel lobby. As a consequence, there have been no yearly DLR "gingerbread" pins.

There have been the yearly holiday overlay for the Haunted Mansion, which included different gingerbread centerpieces in the main room of the Haunted Mansion. This mystery collection recognizes those gingerbread creations and may bring the tradition of holiday "gingerbread" pins to the California parks.

Um I need those. Willing to pay if someone went for me. If anyone wants pins I will offer them. I will do what ever it takes. I adore the gingerbread houses in the ride and those will be amazing in my collection. Hopefully by next week I will be done fighting with my bank about my account so I can set up paypal since everyone has such nice pins for sale

Sweet! Seventeen posts in and I can still be the first person to complain that this is another Saturday event, screwing people who don't have higher-level passes! HERE I THOUGHT I WOULD BE TOO LATE TO SPREAD MY NEGATIVITY! >_<

You win, DLR. You win. ;_; Clearly I need to upgrade my pass.

I'm with ya Gloomy. I'm not about to upgrade my pass to get Saturdays just to get this set. I would rather have someone pick me up the pins.

I don't know, I like the way some of them look but they aren't really doing it for me (thank goodness, not like I need more pins on my wants list :p), though I really like that gingerbread coffin. It's hinged, I wonder what it looks like "open"?

If it's like the original, it will have a gingerbread man in it. The one in the haunted mansion opened and had a gingerbread man in it that sat up.

As for it being a saturday release. I came to the conclusion long ago that as a pin trader, the premium pass was a necessity for this very reason. As well as the 10% (now 20%) discount. Any other pass would just not cut it.

Given my bad luck, I will end up with five pins of one design and five pins of a second design that Saturday. Any one want to suggest a meeting place to trade these mystery pins.

good idea....mayb after we get our pins...if we are the lucky ones to get picked.... than we can all meet up an trade any extras we may have.. Im sure as a team we can make a few sets.. or at least get a good head start.
