You can either honor the auction, but privately. or you can award to the second place person. Those would be the two most logical choices. Did you PM a mod for guidance in this matter? I know they are the last people you want to talk to!

Hmm, well if this were ebay and the buyer was no longer valid, you don't have to go through with the transaction. And you don't have to offer it to the 2nd person either.

+1. Or re-auction. I don't think it's fair because you may have received other bids if whoever was #1 on the leaderboard hadn't bid. I know if I see a way over the top leader I just won't bid. But if winning seems achievable then I may. So it could have gone differently.

Well since this isn't ebay(even though they do give 2nd place a second chance offer if something does go wrong with the winner) the FAIR thing would be to award it to the 2nd place person who had the guts to put up a bid(s) and actually try to win it and had faith that their pins might be good enough!

Personal opinion: I would THINK that if the auction ended before the ban went into effect, the auction should be honored. If it is who i think it is, the ban went into effect fairly late last night. I do NOT have the address for this person or a way to contact them other than DPF and FB, so i can't help with that part.

However, if the auction ended after their ban went into effect, you could award the 2nd place spot? I think re-auctioning it would be ok too, but my personal choice would be just to award the #2 bidder.

Edit/add: I do believe that whatever you decide to do, the MODs will stand behind the choice in this instance. There really is no precedent.

I think it's up to you. If you really want the winning pins, then I would try to contact the winner... of course, since they were banned, if they don't send their pins to you and keep your pin, there isnt any recourse for you. if you have traded with him in the past and trust him, then you are probably okay.

personally, I would either reauction or go with second place, depending on if I really wanted the second place person's pins or not. I think whatever action you choose will be fine with DPF.

As I don't have the insights of the ban and I have never traded with the person, nor I know how long they are banned for, I think I will take your advice and that of others so far. I will re-auction that way everyone has a chance to bid, since there are a lot of pins that were bid in this auction (9. Total) I don't want to take the chance. I know the other bids were probably affected due to the bid made.

Thanks for the input.

If you can't honour the auction, I think it's perfectly fine to have a new auction. You shouldn't have to go to the 2nd place winner unless you want to make that trade, because the 1st place bid may have affected the bidding. For example, I want to bid but I know I can't possibly beat the 1st place bid, so I don't bother ...but if the 1st place bid hadn't been there, I might have tried to beat the 2nd place bid.

Mahrii,
if you want thoes pins prince Eric bid and won I can be the middle between you both. I know how much he wanted this pin but its all up to you.
