Well I guess to jump on the complain train, since this is what it has become, my only true complaint is Coronation Elsa being the one who got the exclusive treatment, DARN YOU DISNEY! LOL

I think the true problem lies in people having all these expectations of what they expect these dolls to be or look like and when it isn't exactly what was expected or personally hoped for out comes the complaint train. That's just my take on it.

I'm thrilled I'll finally get to have a SQ Elsa, Ursula and Ariel as I missed out on the 17" ones as I didn't really follow Disney dolls until I found out about the designer villains, but again to each their own but felt to throw my opinion out there when I usually keep mum but seeing all the complaints I just thought I'd say my peace, take it or leave it.

Y'all enjoy em who will try for them (myself included)

Yup, they're similar but those who think that they're to close to the classic ones can just get the classic ones instead. More for us!
BTW the smirk they added to Hans is so good! I think it adds miles to the design!

i can't wait to see the merchandise for this line. I will have to prepare myself when it comes to the probable pin set - "let it go..." :lol: But at least I should have a good chance at most of the other merch when it eventually comes out ^.^
 
I too am stoked about the merchandising for this set! I know I will have to get the journals and mugs for Helsa and Ursiel. Also make sure to get the print set as I missed out on last year's print set (don't know how but I did) oh money how easily you spend! LOL

So true! I keep telling myself it won't be so bad since I prob won't shoot for the dolls, but then thinking about the merch adding up, I might as well shoot for the dolls :doh: =p

I'm excited all in all- Ive always loved the designer journals esp since I'm a writer, and so that should at least be a fun way to hopefully guarantee having one thing at least for each design I like.

Disney did really well with these ones. While the original two designer collections are always my favorite, these by far are my favorite of the fairytale designs! (It helps that I've always secretly loved the pairing of Elsa and Hans - in my universe, he redeems himself eventually :lol:)
 
I agree the new Elsa set looks nothing like the classic dolls! I'm in love with the new Elsa, so pretty maybe my favourite Elsa and I have owned the coronation, SQ and regal Elsa dolls! So excited for this set and glad the coronation was the exclusive.

I've noticed that the designer Elsa dolls costume is actually modeled more after the Harrods version! All the extra details on the sleeves and dress are from the Harrods version since the original didn't have all those extra details! So it is nice to see them appear!

Disney knows what they are doing. They just made about a million Frozen fan fiction writers scream with joy lol.

But seriously, now that you pointed out that she is inspired by the Harrod's Elsa doll, I can't help but like her a little more now. I still think she could be better, but I do have a better opinion of her now.

I am just curious now if she will have her snow heels since it looks like Snow White is in the flats versus the artwork heels. Plus Rapunzel doesn't have shoes and Ariel has a tail.
 
She is a great substitute for those who missed out on the original Sq Elsa. For one I prefer the make up and face of the new one and the hair looks less yellow. The bodice is almost identical on both, the only downside is the Cape I wish it was embroidered but then I thought the original LE dolls Cape looked too thick and not much like Ice. I can't wait to get her!

I hope she does. It seems to always be hit or miss with the designer dolls. If I remember correctly, didn't the designer Cinderella from last year's wave have blue or clear flats instead of heels?

She sure did come with those awful clear flats.....I was so pissed about it that I snuck in and gave her the proper glass heels that she deserved! I just don't understand why it is so hard for them to make the shoes accurate!

Man...those really do look terrible. The clear heels you used were exactly how I was hoping they would look, though I figured Disney would at least put the little heart on the front like how they look in the movie. I think Disney assumes that no one will be looking at the shoes where they are hidden by the dresses and boxes most of the time, so they don't really try unless you can see the doll's feet.

I think wearing glass flats would be harder to walk in since you wouldn't be able to bend your foot while dancing! Lol
 
Do we know how much each set will be? and the individual release dates yet? or did I miss it in the thread?

Individual releases start on September 29th. They will be $129.95 plus tax. They have not announced the order yet in which the sets will be released however they usually end with one of the more popular sets as seen from previous designer doll releases.
 
Speaking of the release order, what order does everyone think they will be released in? I am gonna say:

Snow White and Hag
Peter and Hook
Ursula and Ariel
Rapunzel and Gothel
Elsa and Hans

If we get that random Anna and Kristoff set that is supposed to be an "add-on" of sorts to last years wave, I think we will see it released not long after Elsa and Hans are released.

Since last year it had the most popular and second popular 3rd and last released. Plus they need that gap filler like Mulan and Shang was before Briar Rose and Phillip.
 
Thank you! I'll be in Disney during the first set release - so I'll be up at 3:00am in my hotel room shopping on the Disney Store's website - while at Disney....yeah, I'm obsessed! LOL.
