Heroes & villains collection first look
I love love love that the sides each have a character. Unlike the other sets where both characters are on each side.

I agree with people in that Snow White doesn't look too good from this picture, but I will reserve further judgment until we get an actual announcement.

When I seen snow and the witch I was like "omgosh pictures finally!" I was sad to find out it was just a little picture of the box but, it makes me
more excited to see the rest.

Snow White and the Hag is real. OMG, Snow White and the Hag is real.

Gulp. The accuracy of these rumors really has me worried that the Elsa/Hans D23 exclusive only rumor is accurate too.

OH MY OH MY OH MY everyone was right and this set is totally real! (heavy breathing)

I still wouldn't count out Elsa/Hans as part of the five set series though. The D23 Exclusive has always had a variant, and I don't think that'll change just yet.

Okay, now I'm getting a bit nervous. After seeing the Snow/Witch release confirmation, I know I won't be getting her, but I'll probably try for a couple of them at least (like Elsa and Hans, for example). However, I will be pissed if they finally announce this set and Aurora and Maleficent have been excluded after all. I mean, isn't Maleficent the most iconic Disney villain? Why wouldn't they include her in the first wave of Heroes v. Villains?

I wouldn't worry about that. I would absolutely LOVE a Maleficent and Aurora set as well, but even if we don't get it in this wave, we will probably get it next year. I would assume we would get a second wave of dolls seeing that this is still considered a part of the Fairytale designer collection.

I agree, I think we'll see another wave next year. I would also be very upset not get an Aurora/Maleficent match up.

I am disappointed they actually used the Hag in the set. I figured the rumor was true, but held out some hope it would be different. Snow White doesn't seem to sell as well as the other dolls to begin with (I just bought the designer princess Snow White for less than $100 on Ebay), but the evil queen is fairly popular. Having the evil queen as part of the set would make it much more well liked. Honestly, I'll likely still buy it and it's sure to sell out, but if I have to make a choice it's kind of towards the bottom.

I find the fact that they are using the hag very exciting! To me it's going to be a fantastic change of pace, as the hag really has no prior doll form, so they have to branch out! Much better than if they stuck with the typical Rapunzel/Gothel, Ariel/Ursula, Aurora/Maleficent sets. A Snow White/Queen set would have been a little predictable. As great as those would be, this is shows they are actually willing to branch out to previously unexplored characters!

+1000

I have to admit, I too am happy Snow White is with the witch/hag. I have the Villain Designer Evil Queen so it will be awesome to have her in both forms. And I agree, there's a lot more merchandise with the EQ than with the hag -- I think that is why the rumors were so unbelievable and why everyone is so shocked now. No one thought Disney would really go there. I think it is great that they are doing something even slightly different from their norm. Now all we need is for Disney to make a 17" Evil Queen!

HQ version of the box. The witch has some really nice rose detailing on her cloak! (got this from the disneylimitededitiondolls tumblr page).

Hmmm that pattern on Snow's dress isn't the greatest looking on the box, hopefully the pattern looks better on the actual doll.....

Yep, it's the one thing I'm not thrilled about, but I'm trying to reserve judgement until I see pics of the dolls.

So far I'm not feeling this set... I already wasn't blown away by Ariel's top, I own the big Elsa so I'm not really wanting a second coronation Elsa... and now I'm not in love with snow's dress... I like the pattern but the dress looks too much like her original dress for the pattern to work... There's just too much going on.

glad to see a different more unusual character though, hoping this is Disney testing the waters and means they're experimenting outside of the basic characters they re-use over and over.

Snow White's pattern looks better in HQ, but it doesn't look like it'll be embroidered. Probably printed.

I seriously can't see this set being worth $120.....

Wow, thank you for sharing! I love the rose pattern on the Witch's cloak too! I'm still not sure how I feel about the florals on Snow White's skirt though, but then the dolls are never a 100% reflection of the box art.

If you look at the edges of the hags cloak on the box (especially towards the bottom opposite the basket side) it looks like it'll be a lace type fabric, I was imagining a simple suede like fabric, so maybe the hag will be more intricate than she appears.

If you lighten the the image you can see some kind of patterned trim along her hood and sleeves and she has a fringed shall with a floral print draped around her. Add that to the pop of red liner inside the sleeves and the lace like black fabric overlay on the cloak and Id say we're in for quite the doll!

LOL. Snow White looks like she doesn't believe for one minute what the Hag is telling her. "Hmm, yeah, okay, you old witch. Right..."

Her face in the artwork looks a bit haughty.

I'm thinking that Snow White's floral design is maybe to represent when she's woken up in the spring, or just to do with the forest. I actually really like this set even its just the artwork and not the actual dolls. I wonder if the queen is going to be fully articulated with an entire new body mold, or the regular classic body with a few modifications such as a different forearm shape, and having the body posed to make it look like its a different shape. Either way I'm excited for this set and I would love to have it. I find Snow White's expression funny as if she doesn't believe what the old bat is telling her. Ooh and one more thing, is snow White's bow to the side again, I really hope it isn't?!

Because they are already putting out the popular Ariel/Ursula, Rapunzel/Gothel, and Elsa/Hans (unless those rumors of Anna/Kristoff are true) sets. They have to put some unpopular sets to go with the popular ones. Kind of like what they did with DFDC1 and 2.

I don't think I am going to preorder the set like I did last time. The first set I received was in horrific shape with water damage all over the slip covers and the dolls looked like they'd survived a hurricane. I had to send it back, and it took forever to get my replacement set. I don't like that you have to wait until ALL the dolls are out before you get your pre-ordered set, and that if something is wrong with one doll you have to send them ALL back, even the good ones, for a replacement. I am going to take my chances at the store each week and, then online, if I don't get picked for the in-store lottery. At least that way, if I get one damaged one, I don't have to give up my other dolls.
