So we have a post about how much we have spent on our most expensive pins.

I am asking what is the best deal you have gotten on a very hard to find pin?

Personally, I bought a mystery lot of 50 pins from ebay (all authentic) for about $50 and found this entire set in the lot. I was sooo happy! A dollar a pin. Such a bargain!

I bought the new Jasmine Designer princess pin for $26.00 with shipping from a wonderful member on the forum . And I got Belle on ebay from a seller I've purchased from before for $40.00 with free shipping . So far, they are my two all time favorite pins and I'm very thankful that I got them both . I got a great deal compared to what they are going for today .
Although, they are coming down on the starting price . There is one set on there now $1250.00 BIN !

I have come across many great deals since I started pin collecting but this is always the one that has just blown me away. I would LOVE to find a deal like this one again! Crazy I tell you!

I would have passed out if I saw something like this. Even for just 2 or 3 of the pins! Wow!

I can't recall what great deals I got, but there were some I was amazed that I was actually able to trade for instead of paying current market prices for them.

I've gotten a lot of deals...grab bags from Disney which included a DA pin, a couple LE pins and a bunch of open stock pins for $10, lots from my Mom's ex-CM friends who don't want Disney stuff after they no longer worked for the company, and some Ebay deals. The most recent group was an Ebay lot of Goofy items I got for $12.50. In the lot was a pair of Goofy earrings, some buttons, a watch and cereal toys, plus these:

I would have paid $12.50 for just the Electrical Parade Goofy. But I really wanted the Magic and the 4th of July pin too.

I've been trying to collect the dsf Beloved Tales and I scored Pinocchio for around $17. They were all going for around that much a few months ago. Before the new ones came out, there weren't as many people interested in them so they were all going for around $20 on Ebay. I remember I missed a Beauty and the Beast that went for under $30. When I saw it again a week or so later I stayed up to bid on it until the end and got it for $44. At the time, I thought I spent a crazy amount on it. I had no idea it would go for the prices I've seen lately.

Ain't that the truth! I've been watching since February-ish, when I got some after my my parents went to DSF. I didn't want to pay the $20 that they were going for, and skipped a bunch of the auctions. But then I noticed the uptick in "chatter" about them. In June, Carolyn bumped her sale post and gave a discount code for DPF members. When I went to the site, one of the June specials was the Dumbo Beloved Tales for $15. She had several more that I didn't have, and with the discount I figured I wasn't paying that much more than original price+ tax, and it would be "now or never". I got 101 Dalmatians, Pinocchio, Bambi, Lady & the Tramp and the Dumbo for $80! That would get me 2 of them now? Only I wish I had bought the Cinderella and Snow White ones for $20 when I saw them on Ebay in the Spring. I have 7 more to go, and with the interest as high as they are, and my personal limits on spending, I think I will have a long, long wait now to complete the series.

I remember when she had those up on her site! I wanted to buy them but I'm a big nerd and I have to have my pins on their original cards so I passed. I should've just purchased them and tracked down those cards somehow. You got a great deal!

Free. Just about my whole entire collection has been gifted to me via my family and friends.
I've only personally paid for a few which was $3 or $4 at the time but nothing more than that.

This story never gets old to me, and it always puts a smile on my face. It couldn't have happened to a better person. Pin Karma hit you hard didn't it :P I'm guessing the seller decided to list the pins at original cost? To think, that lot is now worth well over $400.

What fun topic!

I got this on Ebay on 9/11 this year for $11.61 + $2.95 S&H

and this for $29.95 :)

Sooooo happy!

**Edit** This came in a 5 pin lot for $18.50 or something like that

Do you hear drops falling ?? That is me drooling  Great, excellent, mega find indeed!

Wow! I am trying to think about the cheapest pin, but I'm going to have to say that probably the ones I've traded for after buying pin lots (about $2-3 per pin), after doing a few trades in the parks with cast lanyards and going to PTN with those "better" pins, I was able to get:

I
traded another DSF 300 (Tinker Bell with Sorcerer Mickey, I think) for it a couple of years ago. And I had just traded for that DSF300 off a cast lanyard earlier that day!

I really almost did. It was crazy b/c back then I was not into collecting princess pins much at all. I collected more for the kids than anything and having boys that never involved princess pins. lol I was excited to actually buy some pins for ME, some girly pins for once! When they came in I was in love with them.

Aww!! You are too sweet. Thanks for making me smile! What the seller actually did was put the listing up to sell the Super Jumbo Tinker Bell. She saw it as a very valuable pin I guess b/c of the size. In the listing she stated that she was just tossing the rest in as free extras. The Prince/Princess dancing one was missing one post but the other was intact and fine. All the rest were still in perfect shape. I have never been more excited I don't think and I have come across a lot of great finds (b/c I spend too much time on ebay...lol).

LOL!! Oh to find a lot like that again. I really would fall out. I imagine my happiness back then when I did not collect them so much/know as much about them but to find that now...my goodness!! Everyone here would heat me scream. hehe

Probably this lot of pins & lanyards I got from gumtree (gumtree is like craigs list) I paid £40 for the lot <3

I'v traded away a lot of these pins now, but I got a lot of pins I wanted thanks to this load of pins ^__^!

I just love working at the auction and going to garage sales/flea markets!

A few months back for $25 I got two framed pin sets:

I didn't feel like posting the other 15 or so 20th anniversary pins that came with the Donald pin, and surprisingly the whole framed set was never listed on pp. But I've made some seriously great trades with these :)

At a garage sale recently I picked up a lot of 47 pins for $5...I couldn't believe it!

On eBay, my best deal was a lot of 5 Aladdin pins, BIN for $50. This was in the lot - such a great pin!:
