The downside of chloroplast is that it doesn't shape to the pin like cork or foam does. Since it's plastic, you're just making a hole. When I tried it, my pins would consistently try to fall out.

ive found it depends on the book material if the choroplast works well.. if its the spandex material it works great if its the 'older style' fabric pages doesnt hold well at all.. i ended up putting one of the disney sold felt stiffer pages between to grip the pins better...

I keep my main collection (Figment of course!) in one of the old style bags with the thick, felt, double-sided pages which velcro shut, no zippers. There are zippers on the interleaves, but really I don't even know why they put zippers in ANY bag. Metal on metal anywhere is bad news!

I've tried to keep them well organized, but I inevitably ran out of room! I've got the overflow on a large cork board until I can find another bag in the style I like. There's also a few themes I keep in some of the smaller bags I have, like Annual Passholder Figments, and pins that specifically mention pin trading.

The jumbo pins are, sadly, in a big box until I can figure out how to display them. My side collections are in there too, but I have plans to frame a few of them this year! :)

As for the PTNs, I've never been to one, but I did make the rounds at the tables at the WDW Imagination Gala event last September. I found that most people were very friendly and helpful. Some people eyed me cautiously as I paged through their pins, but that's really it. I did end up making several trades. I had my list of wants on a sheet of paper, and a helpful trader even directed me to another trader who they knew had some of them. :)

I, too, have my collection sorted by movie, i.e., Alice in Wonderland, Lilo & Stitch, etc. But, I go even further and sort within each movie by where the pins are from, i.e., Disney Auctions, WDI, DLR, etc. I have my bags labeled on the outside so I know what is in each one. I go through my bags when I put pins I've obtained away as this helps to remind me what I have. Occasionally I have accidently traded for pins I already have. I end up putting the duplicate in my trading bag.
