We haven't done this in awhile, simple question (poll incoming)

Yay! Hope! Smart lady = awesome topic.

I started in October 2009 in WDW with little toddler princess pins. Collected a nice chunk of scrappers and happily came home to discover Pinpics and Dizpins. Then my whole world crashed because I found out that I had a whole bag of scrappers

Oh you are fast. Now vote

So me... I got my first Disney pin in 1990, when my Dad brought me two, as souvenirs from a work trip. I had decided to collect lapel pins as my "vacation souvenirs" in 1989, so that's why my Dad brought me pins. I had a couple dozen when pin trading was officially announced. Just got worse after that.

Yes, that is the intent. If it's 3 years, 7 months and nine 9 days, go with 3. I first had it 1-3, 3-5, but then I worried that the people who were 3 years wouldn't know which one to pick!

My first pin was at DLR somewhere around 2002 or 2003. I've collected off and on since then but became real serious in the last 2-3 years (attending releases instead of solely going on Ebay, joining Pinpics, reading pin news and pin forums).

It will be 10 years this spring for me.... My daughter was doing the College Program... and just let you imagination go wild. I have been out of pin collecting for about 4 years. Going to WDW in Feb. and have spent the last week drooling over my pins and finding this site! I have that new pin trader feeling! Can't wait! Patti

While technically I've known of pin trading and my family has collected for 10 years, I put myself in the 1-3 year category because I didn't start seriously collecting until 2010. That year my mom bought me the first DLR classic D pin because she knew my love for classic mickey cartoons and it had Mickey and Minnie from the Ye Olden Days cartoon... and ever since I've been allowing Vinylmations and Pins to share my budget

Less than a year. I'm a newbie. I started collecting with Brave but I ended up disliking most of the pins... My main collections are The Little Mermaid and Snow White. My mini collections are Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty.

Two things:

1. My group (1-3 yrs) is still winning

2. Let's do this again at the beginning of 2014 to see how many people actually stuck around.

I seriously collected from about 2003-2007, and then got distracted and stopped for a while. I returned to serious collecting last year and my goodness... It's a lot harder and more expensive than it used to be. But I'm definitely having fun

I'm going to be hitting the month mark this weekend. I've always liked the pins, but with a trip to disney world planned for this year and my fiance working at disney, I got sucked in on my birthday.

April 22, 2000..my birthday, it went downhill from there..lol About a billion pins later, I'm still here after almost 13 years.

Well,I bought my first pin(Simba of course), when I went to Disneyland back in 2009.
Then I decided to make it a tradition to buy a pin every time I visit, but since I haven't gone in 2 years since that time, my mom has gladly bought me a pin of a character I love when she has gone these past 2 years.
Then I started to look at other pins and how nice they looked then bam, I started an account here to learn more about pins and trading.
So little story aside, I say I started pin collecting in September 2012.
and I don't regret ever starting this fun collection of mine.

I bought my first Disney pin (E Ticket PotC) at MGM Studios in Dec 1999. That makes me in my 14th year of collecting and trading
