Ok, so I was recently at Downtown Disney in the Pin Trader store and when I was headed to the counter to pay for a pin I noticed the CM closing what looked like a huge pin board. Can you ask the CM behind the counter to look at those pins and trade from that or do you have to be like an annual pass member to trade from the board? Im really new to this so I hadn't noticed the pin board when I had been in the store before. But like I said she could open and close it so I guess unless you are in the up and up you wouldn't really know about it. Is there other pin boards like that in other locations throughout the parks? If so would you mind telling me where? Thanks to everyone who is helping a newbie out! :wiggle:

Ok great, thanks! I had seen a family leaving from doing the pin trading and I didn't know if you had to say a special code word or what. I don't have pins to trade yet so I didn't ask but this is very helpful. I found another post that had a lot of info about other pin boards in the parks and even some pin strollers. After I get some trading pins I'll be sure to keep an eye out for more of these trading spots.

Well, for the big trader board at Downtown Disney in WDW, they will NOT open it for you if you ask (at least they've always told ME that). You just have to be in the store when they randomly decide to open it up. Usually you can trade two pins off the big board, but there's a time limit (about a minute or two, I think).

I've been on trips where I've seen it open several times, and on other trips I've never seen it open. Just random luck, I guess.

Most of the gift shops in the resorts have pin boards too, but sadly unless they have been refreshed there's not much on them. You can just ask to see those any time you want though.

Awesome! Thanks so much everyone. I've been in some of the pin stores at Disney before but I guess since I hadn't caught pin fever yet I never noticed this stuff.

The pin board at Down Town Disney is timed for 2 minutes, they open it at random times, you stand in line and are able to see the pins from a distance, it helps to have your pins ready to trade and have their backs off as you will need to keep your backs.
