ZAPPED! I was the January RAK victim.
Dear Friends,
I received a MASSIVE box from Sir David the Grailslayer earlier this month. I was actually expecting something from him because he told me he was going to send some pins for the kids at Childrens Hospital Oakland where we go at least once every month or two at the most, apparently a rouse humph. My daughter picked it up from the porch and asked me who David was. I told her he was a pin trading friend and she replied "this must be the biggest pin in the world!" I don't have a picture of the box because as you can imagine as soon as I/Joy realized what was really going on she immediately took everything out and lined each LBE and box up along the couch like it was Christmas.....here is the scene.

After getting them all lined up I pretty much watched Joy open everything. Some things had her name inside and some had mine, the ones with my name she handed me for the most part but she also took the liberty of just showing me what had been sent to me lol. After having what was probably one of the most depressing Christmases because of her health issues, this was really like Christmas 2.0 and it was beyond amazing!
I read each and every single word written to us and cried my face off. The sheer enormity of this RAK, coming from what most people would consider strangers (I am of the belief that we are not) but even if it had been from people that I have known my entire life, it could not have touched me more. Of course I LOVED all the pins but the cards, letters, notes, the blanket that now lives on the couch, the artwork and handmade items hold a special place in my heart. I know what it takes to create something for someone and I feel that love. I just realized that you cant really see the gloves that were sent because she snatched them up and has worn them over and over and over....here in California its been in the 70's lol but that hasn't stopped her.

This is Joy's letter to the kind RAK'ers
To: Everyone from the RAK attack
Hi, this is Joy. I just want to thank all of you guys for the gifts.
I loved all the pins, the Cindy and Sully gloves, the drawings, the coloring stuff and card, the toys, the gift card and the JOY door hangers.
All the presents were great and I’m so thankful for you doing such an awesome thing for my mom and me.
I think you are all super cool and I love so many of the pins that you guys trade online. I hope that I can get the ones I want the most but because they cost too much money I know it’s not easy for us.
Those gifts meant so much to me and it was like Christmas all over again only better because it was like a surprise Christmas in February!

BUT WAIT.
After receiving the RAK David messaged me and asked if this was in there:Pin PD66417: DisneyStore.com - Jumbo Holiday Joy Set, some of you may remember that this was front and center in my signature but I had never actually seen it in person or obtained it. Seeing that it is not only beautiful but also my daughters name, I really, REALLY wanted these. I told him that they weren't and he blabbed that he had intended to include them but must have misplaced them. WHAT? (insert lots of dirty language here, just ask him, I sent those words to his inbox) He asked if I had ever seen them in person, I hadn't, but he refused to talk them up or down and forced me to wait until they arrived so I could make my own mind up about them.
Well mind made up they are hands down my FAVORITE pins ever!! They are the nicest, shiniest, heaviest and purrrrrdiest pins ever. David is not only the Grailslayer, he is the Rainmaker because I cried and cried and cried several times because of this....guy. Again exercising restraint with the language. I wrote this thread a few days ago but he said it was not fit to print. If you would like to see the original and much shorter thank you thread just ask him, but if you are unable to appreciate/process sarcasm and lots of bad words you should skip it.
He/Amy paid off whoever necessary to ensure that the box would be delivered on Valentines day. They are my Valentines this year Included in the box was an extra stealthy double cross of a zap. Carla gave away a Pascal Paris Christmas pin, well we could zap it to someone directly from her and I won that game! I asked that it be zapped to David because, well because. I did tell her that I loved it and it was on my wants list as well but that I was sure he deserved it more than I did lol. When he got it he thanked me of course and informed me that he would be locking it up in his collection and I could (in the words of a certain member cough cough"suck it") if I thought that he would be re-zapping it to me. Well he traded for another one just to zap me with...as if the JOY pins were not the zap of a lifetime right? This dude is killing me.
Ok again pin porn for your eyeballs. The one with my thumb was to give my sister an idea of the size. Oh did I mention that the JOY pins are LE 100? %&^*(#+_@*#@!$%^^^^$*())*****@!!!!!

So there it is there. I cant thank you enough. This was something we will remember for the rest of our lives and as you can see in the pic of my daughter, you have made my favorite person in the world flash her million dollar smile and really mean it.
