Is DPF running really slowly for anyone?
I hope someone who gets on more often can get on soon because with every day a lot of members are using FB and PinTalk more and I like it here on DPF.

Ditto. I like PinTalk (I mostly lurk) but I am shy and it is hard for me to get out there and meet people/ make friends. I'm still working on meeting all of you! I don't want to move to a new forum :( I also dislike their lack of a feedback system. Hopefully this issue gets sorted out soon. It seems to be a little better today atleast.

I feel the same way. It's taken me quite a while to learn to navigate the waters of DPF and I'd hate to start over. I still don't really "know" anyone here but I'd really hate to just do it all over again.

Yep same here. Just over the last week or so I've found pages very slow to load, or not loading at all. Plenty of "503" errors too.

Plus, I don't know if anyone else has this, I know it was a problem for a while, but it seemed to get better; emails with PM notifications taking hours or even days to come. I know I lurk on the forums quite a lot, but it's handy to have timely emails about PMs.

I hardly ever get the email notifications. I would say 1 out of 10. I wrote a post to the help desk, but nothing worked. Still not getting them.

It has been painfully slow and I have a cable modem. There has been several times this last week I just gave up because the pages are loading so slowly and now I have been getting 503 error messages.

This site has been slower for me in the past few days than it has ever been. :(

Who actually runs the servers for this site? Are they going to address this issue?

I have been avoiding the forum mostly because of this issue....Like Moe said, I have very limited time and when it takes MINUTES to load ONE page, its just not worth the time.... its sad, really.

I think so many people are avoiding the forums lol that it is start to run a tad faster. I can't be the only one who noticed that today it was dramatically better than what it was a few days ago, not anywhere near what it used to be when it was good, but not bad...

I have to admit i just joined pin talk.... I cannot believe the amount of people from DPF I saw on there! However I prefer DPF so i hope all these issues get fixed.... I want people to stay in the dpf community....

It would be nice to have the owners address the issues for us. At least let us know if we should give up or keep our fingers crossed that they will actually do something about it.

Yeah, it really seems odd that it has been days and besides dancecats we have not had 1 other moderator (which is understandable since the admins run the site) or admin more importantly address this issue anywhere, whether or this thread or to anyone that we have heard from.

If there is a DoS attack on the servers there is really not anything they can do about it.

With the way the site has been running I would bet that is what had happened.

So everyone calm down. Your life will not end if you can't send a PM or complain about the price of a pin.

kuppo ,
Actually I have held off responding to this thread , partially due to either my computer or the site causing my pages to jump or time out and disappear as I type replies, now you think its tough to post a want or complete a trade, try repling to 3 to 5 complaints/requests for help and having the same issues, <ie slow server response, pages timing out etc>

I understand completely your frustrations. As has been mentioned, things do seem to be improving, and yes we have been under attack<see all the spam PMs, and wall messages, which we try to either delete for you or respond when reported.> This has been equally upsetting or more so to those of us whom have our names in green type... We cant do the job we are here to do becuase of this situation either,
Please be patient , we have done everything but call in the Armies of Narnia to help with this spambot attack, even as we speak, the Avengers are assembling on the Shield Hovercarrier to try to formulate a solution<ok not really but I am just trying to lighten this alittle,it is very annoying>, and we are aware, unfortunately we as mods are as helpless in this as everyone else.

Please alittle more patience and you may find that once more Psycho is auctioning off everything, some folks will again be overbumping thier threads, some folks will be complaining about prices on pieces for sale, and most of our newer folks will be going"What is this insanity Ive gotten into"

in short , it will all be back to normal............

I hope.......

Thanks for getting back to me Lucan. Anyways, perhaps it is the decreased action on the forums, but DPF has been surprisingly better today and yesterday compared to the day I posted this thread. Is it just me or are a lot of people experiencing it?
