Okay, so I have been looking for this pin for years now...

pin39460

:dunno:

I know, it seems weird because it's not like else I collect - but I've wanted it from the moment I first saw it on PinPics. 53 has been my lucky number for as long as I can remember. (As a child and teenager, I was just drawn to it, the same way lots of people like 7 or 13. After my father died, it took on more of a significance, as 53 was his birth year. I later found out that one of my favorite movies, Peter Pan, came out the same year. Whenever I get a lottery ticket, or sign up for a game, like on this forum, I always try to get a "53".)

It's an older DSF pin that came out with the release of Herbie: Fully Loaded, which I did not think was a very popular or successful movie, so I am at a loss as to why this pin is SO hard to find. I used to think it was an LE 300, but PinPics now lists it as not being limited edition at all. Either way - Are there really 300 "Herbie: Fully Loaded" pin collectors out there? Are there even 300 "Love Bug" pin collectors?

I have sent out multiple trade requests and I actually follow searches on eBay related to this pin, but it never comes up. ("53 dsf pin" "herbie disney pin 53" etc.)

At this point I'm just looking for clues.

Has anyone actually seen this pin in person? Do you or someone you know actually own this pin - and if so, why? Do you too find yourself strangely drawn to the number 53? Do you worship the white bug known as Herbie? Did you actually enjoy the "Fully Loaded" movie enough to want pins from it? (No judgement if you do; I'm genuinely curious!)

Also, would anyone care to take a stab at it's current value? (It originally sold for $6.95. And as much as I love this pin I probably will not continue pursuing it if the last ones left in existence are going for hundreds among diehard Lohan fans.)

Lastly, what is the most random pin on your wants list?

53 was the number of Herbie. He was called Ocho (5+3 = 8) in one of the older Herbie movies. Besides Herbie Fully Loaded (a blech movie, but I still watched it because it was Herbie), there were five other Herbie movies, which I am sure there are lots of fans of [I myself recall watching repeats of Herbie in the 90s on KCAL-9.]

Oh, I know 53 is Herbie's number. And I know that Fully Loaded was not the first Herbie movie... Just (what most people feel is) a really bad sequel. I loved the Love Bug when I was little, too. I'm still surprised by this particular pin's elusiveness. :)
