I'm always gonna pop in with a Treasure Planet idea! I think Jim and Sarah would make a cute Mother's Day pin, maybe with either Sarah holding little Jim or something like the scene at the end of the movie with Jim in his school uniform dancing with his mom. Also, maybe a Mommy Captain Amelia pin with her holding her four babies from Dr. Doppler. Just one pin with those babies would be awesome, they were so cute!

Oh, boy, psychology and Disney movies...this could get weird. I've read a few people's beliefs in Belle suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Hard to really see, in my opinion, given that Beast never treated her like a prisoner; gave her a room, clothes, access to pretty much anywhere except the West Wing, etc. He tried to be as accommodating as possible, and didn't actually kidnap her, she willingly stayed to save her Dad. You could say due to his obsession with trying to find someone to love him, Beast suffered from Lima Syndrome.

Commenting on Gothel and Rapunzel, I do wonder if maybe there was some small amount of actual love there. I just can't see someone being able to raise a baby to adulthood without becoming attached in some way. Yeah, Gothel did it to use Rapunzel's powers, but she didn't have to be so motherly about the whole thing. She really could have gone a different way completely and forced Rapunzel to be a servant, letting her know exactly what her purpose was to her, but she didn't. If you think about it, she was actually a pretty good parent; she obviously taught Rapunzel a lot of what she knew and was encouraging towards her talents. We see Rapunzel sew, bake, play music, read, make candles; given the fact she only had three books, I'm guessing those skills came from Gothel.

And that's my ramble for the day.
 
I am glad that they made a pin without Minnie in it, so I have to applaud. I never understood why in the world Minnie would belong to Mother's Day pins.

I would love to see more pins from Ariel & Melody, well mainly because my daughter likes Melody. Also, as IsaacandAmanda mentioned above, Tiana & Mom would be great. Maybe Tink & Queen Clarion or Tink & Fairy Mary ? I would get a kick out of seeing Fairy Mary on a pin :lol:

Oh Pamela !! Awesome idea this is. Maybe Coral dreamily looking at her eggs and a school of little fishy swimming in a dream bubble or something like that. Now, that would not be sad either.
 
Going back to the Rapunzel and Gothel topic. I do belive there was actually a great deal of love on bothe sides like Lady Armonua said Gothel did teach her a k=lot and remember she was willing to take a long journy to get Rapunzel the paints she wanted for her birthday. Plus even after Rapunzel figured it all out she still showed love for Gothel in this scene
she reaches for Gothel when she falls out of the window.

Also I love the Tiana and mother idea. And what about Cinderella and her stepmother? Also hoe about Ursula and her eels? in my opinion she actually loved them! She got pissed OFF when they died!

You have some really good points here! I suppose I could get behind a Mother Gothel Mother's Day pin. But I'd MUCH rather have a Rapunzel and Queen pin first.

OH! Maybe a spinner, where Rapunzel is with Mother Gothel on one side, and is with the Queen on the other side!

I went last night at like 6 and was able to get one but I think they only had a few left...
 
on the rapunzel/gothel psych::

She may have loved her in some way, but she abused the girl... Many times in the movie Gothel verbally abuses and bashes on the girl. Just listen to the "mother knows best" lyrics.

"sloppy and repressed, immature, clumsy. Ditsy and a bit, well, um, vague... Plus I believe, gettin' kinda chubby."

Then later in the forest, Gothel clearly states, "why would he like you?"

Complete, utter, mental and verbal abuse for the specific purpose of control. I had a boyfriend like that once, he said he loved me too. LOL yeah, sure.
