Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
.Man, I really wish I had read this thread sooner and made sure my sister was checking both tracking numbers. I fear it's so late in the game that it may have already been delivered to someone else assuming it's also a double label issue. This whole this is truly unacceptable.
I'm relieved to hear that Disney is wrong and UPS IS finding them. I just hope it's not too late and it's already been delivered.
For those curious, my Elsa is #1207 and my Anna is #172!
Wow I have definitely missed a lot since the holiday lol! They do seem to be fairly the SAME dolls but hey that just means all four dolls are beautifulHey everyone, so I got my dolls yesterday and I am so in love with them! It was like another Christmas yesterday! I got my dolls, some more pins and even got the new PS4 which I was so excited about! I didnt know where to start or what I should unpack first, the dolls or the PS4! LOL
Anyway I took photos of the dolls and compared them against the other photos I have taken before of the Harrods set so here they are. Please note that the Harrods set is always the photo on the left and the normal edition is the one on the right.
Clear difference in the skin tone of Elsa. In the Harrods set she has the pearly color just like the Ursula doll did whereas the normal set she does not have this same effect.
You can see a very clear pattern difference in the dress, it may look like the normal dress is paler than the Harrods set but that is just because of the lighting.
Again you can see there is more embroidery in the Harrods doll compared to the Normal one.
Anna appears to have fewer variances in appearance compared to Elsa, apart from having no freckles from her neck down in the normal set and maybe a few minor differences in the hair there is not much in terms of a difference.
This part of Anna's dress has the least amount of difference, as everything looks identical even down to the patter on the dress and the number of rhinestones used.
This part of Anna's dress you can definitely see the differences as more rhinestones are used in the Harrods set.
So really there arent that many differences at all, most of which we already pointed out in the first place other than that you pretty much have the same doll. Also I checked and Elsa's shoes are the same for both doll sets.
Here are pics of my dolls on display, had to make room for them so unfortunately I had to put away my designer Cinderella (since I have the silver one and they look the same anyway other than the difference in dress color).
Here is my latest pin haul

I agree, the way this has all gone down for so many is completely unacceptable. For a company of Disney's size, not only should they never have fouled up this badly in the first place, but once the problem was in full swing they should have gone into full blown damage control mode. It's especially baffling when I think how much the Disney brand has been built on the unparalleled customer service in the parks - and how that seems to dissappear when it comes to the store.
I wonder what would happen if enough people took these stories to the Disney Facebook page. You know, got it out in the public where bad company policies (like inadequate packing, quality control, and the mystery void that is the warehouse) would be more embarrassing for them.
I wish your sister the best of luck!
(On another note, those numbers are really cool. Anna's is so low! And I think it's neat how similar they are.)
You only have to look at what happened in the UK with the price increase to see if enough people complain publically they will listen. The petition that was set up gained over 150 signatures in a matter of hours so I'm sure this helped those in the UK that did buy the dolls. From what I read from you guys in the US you always have problems with UPS I wonder why Disney still use them given all the issues encountered.
Anyway if you do decide to set anything up you should put it here too as you will get a lot of support.
We call Disney Store. All they can say is "call UPS, they have it" and that they have none left, the woman being very unhelpful. We call UPS and they say they never picked it up, so it should still be with Disney so call them. We do, and get a somewhat more sympathetic woman. Again, she reiterates that UPS must have it and they can't send what they don't have. She offers a refund and $10 coupon and my sister's despondent enough to accept. We try several times to see if she can be put on some sort of waiting list in case they get a return. They won't, and state they haven't received any returns and if they do, they'll be relisted and she can try to buy it again with her refund money.
We get off the phone and try UPS once more. This guy is again more helpful than the last, telling me that I can have it listed as lost and open a tracking ticket with Disney. He even calls them at my request to set the investigation up. My sister gets upset because Disney didn't even make this seem an option. So UPS is currently tracking Elsa and the tracking page stats it's starting with our local hub. It should take a few days.
Now she's worried about the refund. I tell the UPS guy that if they mention it we want the doll, not the refund. She calls Disney once more about it and talks to a supervisor. At this point she's still pretty upset and the woman isn't helping. My sister can't even get a clear response on what happens if UPS finds it and sends it back to Disney now that they've started a refund she can't get them to cancel. All the woman does is reiterate that "UPS lost it", claims it was last seen in California (which surprised me as this was before I saw the updated tracking. Yes, she confused the lost item request as stating it was in Ceres), never entertains the possibility that it was lost in their warehouse (there's no origin scan on the doll at all) and, the icing on the cake, states repeatedly and emphatically that, "I've never seen them find an item that they've lost". As far as they're concerned, it's lost, they didn't lose it, it's sold out and even if they get more we're not guaranteed one and they already said she'd get her money back and a coupon small enough to not even buy the classic doll so everything's good to them. I couldn't even get an answer on what if they find the doll, ship it to us and she still gets the refund other than "they never find lost things". Sounds like they don't even care if she winds up getting it for free.
Do singing Elsa and LE Elsa have different facemolds? Singing Elsa looks like she has more of a lopsided smirk and smilier cheeks, and the difference doesn't seem to just be due to the way she is painted. If so, it's pretty unusual. The only other 17 inch doll that has a different facemold for LE vs singing that I can think of is Snow.
UPDATE: my doll (Anna) came in by her lonesome self. I am on the phone with DS.com right now.
Friend's doll(s) have the same problem. One tracking number and the package weighs 4.9 pounds. Looks like one more Anna being sent by herself...
