Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
So I wound up ordering my dolls online, I just couldn't risk missing them in store (and hoo-boy am I glad I did since I go to the same store as Mali and I would've been heartbroken to choose just one). It's been nerve wracking reading everyone's horror stories of dolls getting lost especially when my own fell of the map - Elsa in particular showed nothing after her departure scan in Memphis. I convinced myself to wait for the delivery day before panicking all over the customer service phone lines, remembering Ariel and Eric crossing half of America without getting scanned, but they still came. Still couldn't help checking the tracking every few hours. And lo! In the middle of the night they both just scanned into Washington (I know I shouldn't celebrate victory before they're delivered proper, but I'm so relieved right now I can't even...)

Man, I really wish I had read this thread sooner and made sure my sister was checking both tracking numbers. I fear it's so late in the game that it may have already been delivered to someone else assuming it's also a double label issue. This whole this is truly unacceptable.

I'm relieved to hear that Disney is wrong and UPS IS finding them. I just hope it's not too late and it's already been delivered.

For those curious, my Elsa is #1207 and my Anna is #172!

I agree, the way this has all gone down for so many is completely unacceptable. For a company of Disney's size, not only should they never have fouled up this badly in the first place, but once the problem was in full swing they should have gone into full blown damage control mode. It's especially baffling when I think how much the Disney brand has been built on the unparalleled customer service in the parks - and how that seems to dissappear when it comes to the store.

I wonder what would happen if enough people took these stories to the Disney Facebook page. You know, got it out in the public where bad company policies (like inadequate packing, quality control, and the mystery void that is the warehouse) would be more embarrassing for them.

I wish your sister the best of luck!

(On another note, those numbers are really cool. Anna's is so low! And I think it's neat how similar they are.)

You only have to look at what happened in the UK with the price increase to see if enough people complain publically they will listen. The petition that was set up gained over 150 signatures in a matter of hours so I'm sure this helped those in the UK that did buy the dolls. From what I read from you guys in the US you always have problems with UPS I wonder why Disney still use them given all the issues encountered.

Anyway if you do decide to set anything up you should put it here too as you will get a lot of support.

Actually, it seems UPS isn't the issue, but the main warehouse assuming they're the one's labeling the package wrong. Or at least UPS is more willing to do something about it.

Thanks, Kabe. I also hadn't realised how similar the numbers were. Very cool.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your sister's order, Klingon Jedi... Yes, a lot of the problems do seem to stem from the DS warehouse. From my observation, the the problems start with the UPS labels being printed triggering the DS "Blast Off" e-mails. I think that we really should not be getting those e-mails until UPS actually receives and scans the item into their system with some sort of movement activity away from the warehouse. That being said, one of my ordered dolls became a victim of UPS delivering the doll to the wrong address, even though the order and the label all have my address on it. This whole thing became such a hot mess.

FYI, for those who took the cheapest (free) shipping option in the US, UPS will not update it everywhere. It will show its departure in TN and its arrival wherever the nearest hub to your delivery is. At least, that's what has happened on my prior DS.com orders because it is shipped UPS GROUND.

I never received an email from DS.com asking for the tracking numbers so I called again this morning. The nice gentleman told me that an email was sent on 11/29 (which I never got) so he gave me the tracking numbers.

It turns out that even though I was billed on 11/22 and the order is marked as "shipped" on 11/22, the UPS number I was provided shows it being ready for pick up on 11/27 (day before Thanksgiving) and it being picked up on 11/30 (since UPS is closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday). It shows it departed TN on 12/2 (yesterday) so it should hopefully be here by the end of the week!

Crossing my fingers!

Wow I have definitely missed a lot since the holiday lol! They do seem to be fairly the SAME dolls but hey that just means all four dolls are beautiful thank you for the side by side comparisons...yea I know what you mean when you had to do some rearranging lol..I received my Alice and QoH right before Elsa and Anna released so now I had four 17" dolls to find space for...I feel I have given my three designer sets a push to the side since the 17" dolls are taking over lol..but I still can't wait for the next doll release since I can never have too many

So I received my Elsa yesterday (with no problems like I had with Anna) and the UPS guy came to drop it off at 9:30 PM!!! Super late at night! I haven't seen a UPS truck that late at night before, especially in a residential area.
I was so shocked I didn't notice that the guy walked straight through the front yard to our back house without looking out for dogs (we have four). I finally snapped out of it long enough to ask my husband to follow him out to make sure that the dogs were not going to try to bite the poor guy!!! That was simply shocking and scary at the same time.

After we were assured the UPS guy was safely out in his truck, I quickly opened Elsa and was relieved to see that she came in in good condition. There is a tiny bump on the upper left hand corner but it can totally be overlooked since Elsa is so striking. I'm glad that is done for now and that I have the sisters safely at home.

On to next year!!!!

Got my delivery emails today! Funnily enough, even though Elsa was behind Anna, it says they arrived at exactly the same time. I guess big sis refused to be beaten to the finish line. Now it's just a matter of finding an available day to trek to the states to pick 'em up.

Do singing Elsa and LE Elsa have different facemolds? Singing Elsa looks like she has more of a lopsided smirk and smilier cheeks, and the difference doesn't seem to just be due to the way she is painted. If so, it's pretty unusual. The only other 17 inch doll that has a different facemold for LE vs singing that I can think of is Snow.

Polaris, I think Anna's bodice does have a difference. There appears to be black crystals on the bodice that the regular limited version does not have. I think I see the sparkle of one of them in your pictures.

Finally saw Frozen this weekend at DTD and now really, really bummed that I missed out on the LE dolls. Just have to add to them my wl and keep stalking ebay and here.

YES! I completely agree! This is what I've been trying to say all along. And I think we should totally band together and bring this to disney's attention!

I think it's disney that's the problem and not UPS and that's why they still use them. At least that's what it sounds like in this situation.

I have had a similar experience. Mine was scheduled to be delivered on the 26th but didn't have any tracking updates. 26th came and went (Anna arrived as scheduled) and now it says its scheduled to be delivered on the 5th but there still aren't any tracking updates. The tracking says it never left TN but if you call UPS they say its in CA (I am in PA so why it is in CA is anybody's guess). UPS is saying it is lost or Disney never gave it to them depending on the rep. When I call Disney they tell me its going to come on the 5th. The rep said they are out of Elsa dolls and "IF" it doesn't show up tomorrow to call back for further resolution. When we ask what that is apparently my options are either to pick something else or they will give me a refund if they haaaaaave to. She actually emphasized the "have" like that. We called UPS again after I read your post regarding the lost investigation and they told me we had to contact Disney to do it so we contacted Disney and they refuse to do it until the 5th even though the delivery date has already been rescheduled once and there have been no tracking updates since the 22nd. Nobody seems to question how it is going to get to PA from CA via UPS ground in less than 24 hours. Sigh My husband has forbidden an ebay purchase of Elsa so I am out of luck if UPS/Disney doesn't magically come through.

This is just awful reading about all of these countless problems. I can't imagine WHAT is going on and what has caused all of these foul-ups with deliveries. The issue I had with my own shipment seems so minor now compared to what many of you are going through. I wish I could help you all in some way!

I hope everything works out for everyone with missing dolls. This is just ridiculous.

Yeah Lumee, they told me to ask Disney to set up the investigation too but was nice enough to do it for me when I asked. I tried calling the Ceres and Memphis locations and all they said was since the investigation is now open, I have to talk to Disney. I'll try to ask again tomorrow.

My sister's starting to consider trading her extra LE Ariel too.

My Elsa LE arrive without problem, my Anna LE is another story, disney open an investigation after I refuse to receive a gift card for $100, UPS didn't receive the doll and the disney store supervisor with whom I spoke said that I have to wait until the investigation is complete to receive a refund, she told me literally, "please be patient we are having minor issues with the shipments I'm sure your doll will arrive very soon and have a magical and wonderful day"

I would argue that the only LE doll with even a similar face mold to its singing doll is Merida. All of the other dolls are drastically different IMO. I think for Merida they were stumped on how to even make her doll so it was hard to make them "different" (or so they would probably say! Haha). Anna and Elsa are different, although Anna is more similar than Elsa in regards to the singing dolls.

UPDATE: my doll (Anna) came in by her lonesome self. I am on the phone with DS.com right now.

Friend's doll(s) have the same problem. One tracking number and the package weighs 4.9 pounds. Looks like one more Anna being sent by herself...

Oh no! It was as we feared! I don't suppose that any returned LE Elsa stock happened to be available when you called? From what I gathered from my phone conversations with the DS reps, that was the only way for them to ship out a replacement doll. Sadly, they will not form a waiting list in the event of any stock being returned to the warehouse. The only other chance is if a doll was actually sent to you from the warehouse and was incorrectly routed to another area of the US, but can be recovered and re-routed. What a mess!
