hi...first post here but I've been lurking and following the threads for a while! Anyway just wanted to know what you all thought regarding the secondary market price of the coronation Elsa doll. Since people are only selling their pre-orders now, do you think the price will go down at all once the doll is released in March and most likely there will be more dolls on the market?

I have the coronation Anna and would love the Elsa to go with her but the pre-order was a really bad time (I was literally on the road moving haha). It would have actually been much better fore me if there was no pre-order and they just went on sale in March but now hoping to get an Elsa at a decent price....just wondering when would be the best time, also don't want to wait too long. Thanks!
 
you just really never know. I don't think any of us would have guessed the prices that snow queen Elsa is currently going for. I think that anything Elsa at this point, is going be in high demand because of her popularity. On the bright side though, coronation Elsa has a higher edition size so maybe, the market will be flooded with her but I still don't see her going for less than $200-250
 
Interesting to note that Wedding Rapunzel has also gone up in price - I've been watching her for a while because I am still on the fence about getting another 17in doll to take home but she was regularly selling for retail or lower but now she's at around $150

Still contemplating getting her or trading/selling my 17in Ariel and getting Rapunzel instead. Still worried about getting these dolls home and I already have Snow Queen Elsa and Snow Gear Anna pre-ordered :/ oh at Designer couple Ariel and Eric >.<
 
OMG this is so sad, but so true.

Ive noticed with the craziness of the prices of the Frozen LE dolls on Ebay some of the other LEs have gone back up. Another reason I cant wait for the Frozen craziness to die down, hopefully the prices on the other dolls will settle back down. I was hoping that they would go down as focus shifted to the Frozen dolls but that doesnt seem to be the case.

I doubt Ill ever be able to afford Snow Queen Elsa now, so Im tempted to get rid of my Snow Gear Anna and put the $ (or as a trade) to the other dolls that I missed and really want a little more like LE Belle.

Aww I want Belle too And Tiana and Rapunzel for that matter. But, can't really afford to spend 500+ dollars on a single doll right now.
 
Snow Gear Anna and Coronation Elsa will be my first two 17 inch limited edition dolls. Out of the past ones that have come out, I want Alice, Snow White, Merida (either her alone or the set with her mother), Lady Tremaine, and maybe Tiana and Cinderella. Starting so late in the game, it pains me to see the prices on eBay for the other dolls that I missed. I remember I was dying to have Snow Queen Elsa and couldn't get her, and when I seen the prices on eBay, I was flabbergasted at how high she skyrocketed in price. Its depressing, especially seeing Snow White, Alice, and Tiana have been known to go up to near a thousand dollars. At least Merida and Lady Tremaine are still around retail :sad:.
 
I ordered Cor Elsa and SG Anna. Im gonna plop Cor Elsa right next to my SQ Elsa. I can't wait!
 

I think Aurora will be LE 5,000, unfortunately I don't think she is as popular as Ariel so they will probably revert her back to LE 5,000. Maleficent on the other had is one of the most popular villains therefore I would suspect that they will increase her LE to maybe 3,000? Also depending on how Aurora does look I would suspect that her preorder will probably last maybe a week? That is as long as if the whole Frozen craze has not affected the Disney doll demand making scalpers think that all dolls will sell for this much hence will bulk buy any other princess dolls thus causing them to sell out faster.

Either way I think gone are the days where these dolls lasted for greater than a month online (i.e all the dolls heirloom dolls released pre-Ariel) so we will probably see these sell out faster due to more people knowing about these dolls and the increased popularity.


To be honest the best time to buy these doll would either be straight away when people are still deciding on whether or not they want to buy them, or think that they still have a chance to buy them. It really is a risk because you are pretty much gambling here, if you buy it straight away you are cutting your loses because as you saw with SQ Elsa she actually initially sold for around the $200 mark initially. Also I think it more likely for the value for the dolls to increase over time rather than decrease. The only time the dolls sort of decreased was with Eric and Ursula but they are not princesses. Elsa and Anna on the other hand are just getting more and more popular as time goes so really as much I dont encourage buying from ebay where possible I really dont see these dolls becoming available again later down the track so if I was faced with your situation I would buy the dolls sooner rather than later.


To be honest if you really want Snow, Alice and Tiana, I recommend getting them sooner rather than later where you can. Especially Alice, the reason being is that Alice is such a low LE, so the more people learn about these dolls the more collectors there will be on the market, hence when an Alice doll sells to a collector that will mean fewer will be available on the market. So the longer you wait the fewer there will be available and the higher the seller can demand for the doll, so definitely try to avoid that situation where you can, even if it means forking up over a grand for the doll :S.
 
Well as long as Aurora won't be sold out within minutes, I'm happy. Since the Frozen sisters were my first LE order, I have no idea how things normally are (except that I know that they're an extreme case) - So as long as I know that I have a good chance at getting her if I'm ready online at her release time, then I'm happy. Now I just hope that they make her a good looking doll - especially considering the original beauty of Aurora.

Do you think that scalpers are seeing the popularity of the Ariel LE and now the Frozen LEs and will just think that they are all hot tickets? I think Aurora wont sell so quickly this year but I know Maleficent will sell out pretty quickly.
 
I don't know about everyone else, but I am still wondering if they are going to make a 17" (or 18") Kristoff or Hans doll. I really hope they make at least one . . . and if they don't hopefully they will put one in the designer dolls line. I feel so anxious waiting . . . but it's fun
 

To be honest as much as I would love a Kristoff doll (I dont care too much for Hans and really he would just look like Eric with a different face so I really id prefer something different) it is starting to look less likely that we will be getting one which is really unfortunate.
 

I think how fast Aurora sells out depends a lot more on how she looks than her popularity. Or at least that's the way I decide my doll purchases. I don't really love her as a character, but if the doll is stunning, I will buy her regardless. It's why I bought Snow Elsa and Coronation Anna 'blind'. Even if the movie had sucked to high heavens, I would have still had two beautiful dolls. If they had been ugly I wouldn't have bought them no matter how wonderful the movie was (this incidentally is why I didn't buy LE Belle when she came out and have no desire to ever own her even though Belle is one of my favorite characters). I think LE Aurora has the potential to be as beautiful and classic looking as LE Snow if they changed her facemold to one that actually looked like her and put her in her blue dress or Briar Rose dress, although whether her dress is blue or pink or peasant is much less important to me than her face.
 
Do you think I should try for Elsa or Anna in March?
I'd get both but having just got Blonde Rapunzel,Ariel,Ursula,Cinderella on the secondary market within the last two months and just bought my first car and theirs Tinks I want next week, I can't really afford both, but I'm going to try to save for both but let's just say worst comes to worst I can only get one, which do you think I should get? I already have a Sq Elsa so I was going to get Anna to match Elsa but it would be nice to have both versions of Elsa so I'm unsure:/ Do you think I should have both Elsa's or Anna & Elsa.

I wish they would leak more pictures of Elsa so I can see what I think lol. For those who have seen them in person which one looks better? In the stock pictures I prefer Anna but the pictures people have taken seem to make Anna's outfit look less full.
 
Well, if you later on plan to get both, Coronation Elsa is the one to buy, because no doubt she'll be more expensive to get on the secondary market if you decide you want her later on. She was the first to be sold out in the US and she's also already the most expensive of the two on Ebay.
If you just want them as a set, of course Snow Gear Anna is the perfect match for Snow Queen Elsa. I haven't seen any of the dolls in real life either, so I can't really judge.
 
I think I'm going to try for Anna and if I have some spare money at the time get Elsa too. But I think if I had Anna it would be nice to have the sisters in both their more iconic versions and my favourite versions. I had no interest in coronation Anna but love the Snow one. Elsa is pretty no matter what you put her in lol but I think I'd be more disappointed missing Anna than I would Elsa as even if I can't afford the Coronation Elsa, I will always have the Sq one which I prefer anyway
 
I wouldn't be so sure the Snow Gear Anna will always be her iconic look. Once she gets inducted into the line up I think they will start marketing her in her princess dress. I'd say go with Elsa, but because she is so popular Anna's prices have been bandwagoning. Will it bother you if they are not a matching set, or do you just prefer Elsa? It is a tough decision, I hope you are able to get both!
 
I think it will stay iconic when it comes to how people remember her from the film, which I think is the most important thing for collectors, no matter how they try to advertise her later on, the snow gear look will still be the iconic look of Anna in the movie. At least to me.

You can actually order more than one doll, you just have to put the orders through one at a time as they are usually restricted to one per order unlike the pins which are restricted based on your address. So if you can find someone in the UK to help you then it should not affect their orders either.
 
As far as I know, Europe restricts it to being one doll per. household, not per. order like the US.

Disney UK: There will be a global edition size of 5000 per doll with 500 of each available in Europe. Anna and Elsa will be £60 each. They will be available in selected stores (to be advised) and online with a limit of 1 per guest, 1 per household.
 
I too think that Anna may be marketed in her coronation dress in the future. There is a park dress in the works, and logically, it makes more sense. There is way WAY too much blue in the lineup, and so far they have been putting her in her winter gear without her cape, making her overly blue with the sleeves and skirt. I think that they are going to go with the green dress. It represents the spring, complimenting Elsa's winter blues, and there is minimal green in the lineup currently.

Also, the poor face character would probably perish in the summer if she had to wear that winter costume constantly. Who knows, maybe Anna will switch back and forth?
 
I am going to try to get the coronation Elsa, just in the hope that I can then trade her for the snow queen one as I missed the release in November But think the snow queen one will always be worth a lot more ahhhh!
 

Wow thanks for clarifying that milaya, the restrictions on the UK site are great but I do hope that they never do that to the US one because of Disney Store's track record of losing items or stuffing up the postage processes so restricting it to one per person per household can be a little harsh.
