Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Yeah I agree, especially since they seem to always make it to the store releases too.To be honest changing the time items are released online will not deter scalpers it will catch them off guard but it will do the same for collectors too. So I don't think them changing the release time would be to deter scalpers but instead to make the items more accessible.
I feel that there isn't really a time where everyone will be satisfied. 12:00 PST is good for a lot of people who live on the west coast, but that means its 3:00 AM on the east coast, which is where I live. Its inconvenient for me, but thankfully these limited edition releases of things like dolls aren't too often.
Do you guys think that maybe if I could get the 17" Maleficent and Aurora doll it would be a good trade for a 17" Coronation Elsa and Nordic Anna doll or would it only be good for 17" Coronation Elsa
Sooooo do you guys think that they might have a surprise release of a 17" Meg doll or a 17" Jane doll? :anxious:
Does anyone have the slightest inkling when the next ones will be coming out?

You mean if they sell out fast?Do the preorders go fast?

Just to give you an idea of the past heirloom doll releases that were LE 5,000 and above.
back in 2012 when Cinderella came out for preorder she was up for over a month before she sold out. I remember debating over whether or not I should buy her and I eventually decided to after a whole month of umming and ahhhing.
then in 2013 we had the release of Ariel, she took about 2 and a half days to sell out, don't forget she was LE 6,000 so 1,000 more than any other princess other than Rapunzel and Merida.
then in early 2014 we had the frozen girls Elsa sold out in about 35mins and Anna in 45 mins.
I believe eve aurora will go back to the normal LE 5,000 as they only raised Ariel to 6,000 due to her being popular. That being said I think you are safe to assume that so long as if you are able to put an order in within the first 30 minutes then you should be fine.
the fastest LE doll to sell out was actually Ursula who sold out in less than 30 minutes but was only half the LE size as The normal princesses. This year I think Maleficent will be the harder one to obtain due to the fact that she is more popular in terms of villains and yet she will probably have a LE of only 3,000.
yes, I meant buying. I should be able to be online at the right time if need be.
with scalpers thinking she will sell for double the price that is another story and may result in her selling out within the hour.
This is exactly what I have been thinking. While Aurora is not the most popular princess (some people don't even know her name) and she will come with a higher price tag, I have noticed an influx of scalpers. Don't get me wrong - scalpers have always been and will always be a problem. It comes with the territory and something you have to accept as a collector, but since the release of Frozen it has gotten worse IMO. Thanks to all of the attention the dolls have gotten - both from the news so graciously putting out there how "hot" these dolls are and how much money people are willing to spend on them PLUS all of the posts, blogs, etc that are literally filled with people "desperately seeking this doll" - scalpers now see this as a golden opportunity. To them, if people are willing to spend $3000 on a SQ elsa then they will spend that on an Aurora too! We've all seen the jump in prices for all of the past LE dolls over the past few months, so I don't think this is going to go away soon.
That is why I think trying to get a hold of Aurora and Maleficent is going to be much harder than getting the past LE dolls have been.
now, look, I'm not trying to tick people off by saying any of this. I know these dolls go up in value; I know that some people sell for a higher price because that is how much it's worth on the secondary market; I know not all people are out to scalp others, so don't send me hate mail or nastygrams. I'm just pointing out that given the trend here lately the LEs are going to be much more out there then they have been in the past.
