Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Well my point being there is no need to get into a panic that the LE time will suddenly be at random times. Obviously they will still be released at midnight. as always. And with parents getting angry about product being sold out so dang fast is that yes maybe they are trying to throw off the scalpers . And not everyone is at work, there are stay at home moms/dads. Not everyone has a 9-5 job. With product being sold out so fast and Disney getting flooded with hate mail, I'm not sure what else they can do to please everyone (until they fully restock) except change up the time. they are not going to send out private emails to actual parents that the product is back in stock.

Yeah I agree, especially since they seem to always make it to the store releases too.

I agree, its really a pain in the butt to wake up at 3AM to get a doll, then have to get back up at 5AM for class.

Luckily *knocks on wood* Ive been able to get every doll Ive wanted by getting up and getting them online.

Lately I've been looking for March Elsa to buy on eBay and ridiculous thing happened! I found Elsa with only 4 numbers higher COA number than my March Anna! At first I almost had a mini heart attack cos I thought it was the exact same! XD I would looooove to get this Elsa but the price is too high..

Thought I'd share! It's been quiet for a while over here

Do you guys think that maybe if I could get the 17" Maleficent and Aurora doll it would be a good trade for a 17" Coronation Elsa and Nordic Anna doll or would it only be good for 17" Coronation Elsa

I dunno about Aurora but I would say that Maleficent could be traded for an Elsa or Anna. Maleficent is a very popular character and will probably be in more demand than Aurora, so I would say that it is a fair trade.

The tricky thing here is if someone has the Coronation Elsa and Nordic Anna the chances that they will have the LE Aurora and Maleficent would be very high. It wouldnt hurt to ask but I don't think it will be much of a fair trade. The reason being that right now the two Frozen dolls are around the $600-800 price range, I would say Aurora would be around the $200 mark initially and Maleficent maybe a little higher $300-$350 especially during the initial flood on the secondary market.

So in all honesty I think even if you were to request it, it would be hard to find someone that would be willing to do that trade. But good luck everyone is very different so you may find someone out there willing to do this trade with you. Probably a trade of two dolls for one though as it would be a little harder to trade both. Maybe if you were to get an older doll? Like Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle and maybe even Ariel? But even with those you would need at least three of them to make it a somewhat fair trade for the two Frozen March dolls.

Sooooo do you guys think that they might have a surprise release of a 17" Meg doll or a 17" Jane doll? :anxious:

I highly doubt it.
It would be interesting, but I highly doubt it.

The only way I can see Disney making them is if they're trying to cash in on the 17" LE doll value. Cause now they know that people will buy them, either to collect them, or sell them on eBay.

It's all a matter of how Disney thinks right now.

I was actually kinda surprised that they didn't release a Mulan or a Pocahontas one. I can understand why Meg or Jane aren't int he picture because they are not in the princess line... But Mulan or Pocahontas should have been made..

Do the preorders go fast?
You mean if they sell out fast?
Depends on the popularity of the doll and the amount of dolls - but maybe we can assume that Aurora will be 5000 dolls and she should be less popular than the Frozen dolls - even though there's a general big hype around the dolls, which we also saw in the US where Tinkerbell was gone pretty fast.
Still, if there's no page crashes or something like that, most people ready at the purchase time should be able to get their doll. Even Anna and Elsa didn't sell out before 30 minutes after they got online and I checked my dolls out in the matter of minutes.

Though it is extremely stressful and to be honest it's not the buying part I like about these dolls.

If they did however did manage to pull a LE 17" of Jane & Meg (which is unlikely possible but who knows) it will be around when Tarzan & Hercules is being released on Blu Ray in North America in August. That would be my only thought. I think it would be awesome if they did but again It's whatever Disney wants to make next for LE dolls.

Do the preorders go fast?

Just to give you an idea of the past heirloom doll releases that were LE 5,000 and above.

back in 2012 when Cinderella came out for preorder she was up for over a month before she sold out. I remember debating over whether or not I should buy her and I eventually decided to after a whole month of umming and ahhhing.

then in 2013 we had the release of Ariel, she took about 2 and a half days to sell out, don't forget she was LE 6,000 so 1,000 more than any other princess other than Rapunzel and Merida.

then in early 2014 we had the frozen girls Elsa sold out in about 35mins and Anna in 45 mins.

I believe eve aurora will go back to the normal LE 5,000 as they only raised Ariel to 6,000 due to her being popular. That being said I think you are safe to assume that so long as if you are able to put an order in within the first 30 minutes then you should be fine.

the fastest LE doll to sell out was actually Ursula who sold out in less than 30 minutes but was only half the LE size as The normal princesses. This year I think Maleficent will be the harder one to obtain due to the fact that she is more popular in terms of villains and yet she will probably have a LE of only 3,000.

I think Jane and Meg would actually be more sought after than some of the princesses--but it's very doubtful Disney will surprise us with something that wonderful

Has June 10 been hard confirmed for the Hercules and Tarzan blurays? I can't find any preorder type listings on Best Buy or Future Shop or the like.

Man, now you've got LE Meg and Jane dolls in my head. That would be so amazing! Even though I know better (I mean, they passed up on Mulan and Pocahontas, so why would 2 non-franchise dolls get released?)

It is doubtful that we will be getting any other LEs. I believe the next LE dolls will be Aurora. I mean we don't have much longer to go really it is only about 3 months away.

It it would be weird of Disney to release a spontaneous character for no reason. I mean these dolls are released to commemorate some event and there isn't anything major happening for Hercules or Tarzan this year. I think eventually after they complete the diamond edition line in 2015 (possibly 2016) then we may see some other characters that Disney missed out on.

I'd love to have both Jane and Meg but don't think it's likely this year. We actually had the blu ray release of both films last year in the UK which passed by pretty unoticed! I agreee with Mike that we'll have to wait until all of the Princess line are done before they move on to other characters (barring any surprise designer releases!).

yes, I meant buying. I should be able to be online at the right time if need be.

Sorry not sure what you mean by this but I was actually pointing out how long it took for them to sell out as per your previous query asking how long the preorders last. All the dolls I referred to above had preorders and I was referring to their preorder availability online. But yeah I was just trying to make a point that Aurora should take a while to sell out, I would think more than an hour, but then again with scalpers thinking she will sell for double the price that is another story and may result in her selling out within the hour. Mind you she is going to be under the new price tag of $119.95 plus tax so that may deter a few people.

Maleficent on the other hand is going to be a faster seller selling out probably within 30 minutes due to the fact that she will have a lower LE size and is the most popular of the villains.

Yes the preorder buying. She would be released while I am at work but if need be I could take a few mins to order her if need be

with scalpers thinking she will sell for double the price that is another story and may result in her selling out within the hour.

This is exactly what I have been thinking. While Aurora is not the most popular princess (some people don't even know her name) and she will come with a higher price tag, I have noticed an influx of scalpers. Don't get me wrong - scalpers have always been and will always be a problem. It comes with the territory and something you have to accept as a collector, but since the release of Frozen it has gotten worse IMO. Thanks to all of the attention the dolls have gotten - both from the news so graciously putting out there how "hot" these dolls are and how much money people are willing to spend on them PLUS all of the posts, blogs, etc that are literally filled with people "desperately seeking this doll" - scalpers now see this as a golden opportunity. To them, if people are willing to spend $3000 on a SQ elsa then they will spend that on an Aurora too! We've all seen the jump in prices for all of the past LE dolls over the past few months, so I don't think this is going to go away soon.
That is why I think trying to get a hold of Aurora and Maleficent is going to be much harder than getting the past LE dolls have been.

now, look, I'm not trying to tick people off by saying any of this. I know these dolls go up in value; I know that some people sell for a higher price because that is how much it's worth on the secondary market; I know not all people are out to scalp others, so don't send me hate mail or nastygrams. I'm just pointing out that given the trend here lately the LEs are going to be much more out there then they have been in the past.

That is expected but then again not everyone will go rushing in to buy Aurora at high prices on the secondary market, I have a feeling that the secondary market will get flooded with Auroras and as a result it will drive her price down. If Ariel, Eric and Ursula are selling for less than $200 I would imagine Aurora would be the same.

I think you will find that even if she sells out very quickly she will be up on the secondary market and will probably sell for only around $200 at most initially before slowly increasing as a result of fewer dolls being on the market. By the way dont forget that the market is still full of Tinker Bells and Zarina's they just did not sell very well on the secondary market and right now you can buy one for less than $100 which isnt too bad at all.

The one who I think will be harder will definitely be Maleficent, I think she may go up to the $300 price right away.

It is all about supply and demand, yes the dolls may sell out fast and yes they may get listed at ridiculous prices but that does not mean that they will sell. Just because the Frozen dolls sold for such a high price that does not mean that will be the case for the others as well. I mean even after the Frozen hype you have some dolls like Cindy, Ariel and Wedding Rapunzel that are not breaking the bank to buy.

Then again that will also depend on what the doll looks like and if it is executed well or not.
