Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
To be completely honest, I just want to see the doll. I know that my sister and cousin don't care about the color of the dress as much as the actual doll. If it is in pink, then she will still look stunning in general.

I just got the chance to see the March Anna and Elsa in person and omg that Anna doll is the most perfect doll. Honestly, she is so accurate. It's like someone literally put their hands in the movie and pulled her out. Honestly, if aurora is anything like that, then I could care less about the color.

With that in mind, people do need to keep calm. Save the stress for the "order has been processed but not received by UPS" page

Also, inabena, that response by Polaris was not hostile at all. It's his way of shutting down rumors and informing others about stuff. And welcome to the forum!!! Always a pleasure to meet new people.

Nothing is uglier than that horrible upside triangle belt (or whatever that hideous thing is supposed to be) on the classic and singing Aurora dolls. So cheap looking. In the movie, her dress is gorgeous, but it has rarely translated well in doll form. If they steer clear of that, the dress will be beautiful. Color makes no difference. I am not a fan of pink, but most of my other LE 17" dolls are in blue green color palette, so she would stand out.

I agree^ my favourite colour is actually pink but I do like the blue as well and couldn't care less what colour it is as long as the dress is nice! Her dress in the film is my favourite princess dress. I just hope they use high quality fabrics and it doesn't look cheap.

I apologize if I had misinterpreted. This is going to be my first time attempting to purchase a doll at retail/release and also first time trying for 17" so nerve, excitement, impatience and general curiosity got the better of me. :sigh: I've acquired a couple of dolls from second hand and have heard horror stories about previous releases and the craze that Frozen has brought in. Also just very curious in general on what the doll is actually going to look like. But definitely not trying to stir up rumors in general. Just sharing what I've seen and wanting to see if any others have similar information until official announcement. It seems like some DS stores were nice enough to let some sneak peak at the doll so it's building up more curiosity. Hopeful for the announcement on Tuesday (which feel soooo far away right now haha).

lordofanime - thanks for the welcome!

Wow it seems like a lot of drama is going on surrounding the Aurora doll pretty much everywhere that is talking about it lol. While I don't plan on getting her, I am looking forward to the pictures and information that is coming out this week. I am sure she will look beautiful regardless of her dress color, as most Disney Store 17 inch dolls tend to be. Plus all the questions that people are asking and debating will hopefully be answered.

I think the most important thing to learn, being a new collector, is that people spread rumours and other people just assume they're true and spread those rumours. You have to take everything with a pinch of salt. The most important thing to remember here is that the only information you can trust 100% is the information Disney releases, officially on their own sites, and not information found on a Facebook group or a Tumblr fan page. And that information will come eventually, they announce release dates, retail prices, etc. long before the actual release date.

I expected her to be pink - because even though some people prefer her blue dress and for some it's seen as the "true Aurora dress", it's hard to discard the fact that Disney always promotes Aurora in her pink dress. I've rarely seen any merchandise which she didn't have the pink dress.
I also like that the dress is pink, since like other people have stated, it makes her stand out from a lot of the other blue/grey-toned dolls.

Well... we all held out hope that there would be a surprise Kristoff or Hans LE until THE VERY LAST SECOND, so even though I'm thinking pink, I will not stop holding out hope that Disney makes me a surprise blue dress Aurora

I completely agree with you. When someone is new to doll collecting, they will find out that rumors spread like wild fire.

I also agree that Polaris has great advice on this thread as well as others, because he does kind of douse those flames when they are started, which eventually helps people out in the end because they keep themselves informed with the actual sites that announce the information instead of relying on random people.

I am so excited for the pre-order . . . and I can't wait for Tuesday! I have to say that these 17 inch dolls are my favorite . . . even moreso than the Designer dolls. I just need a bigger room to display them all in!

The 17" are my favourite too, I like their concept more than the designer ones. I think that's because I prefer the princesses in a more traditional Disney way instead of dressed like a model, I feel like they lost their original charm in designer clothes. They're still pretty, though, not hating on them.

Maybe after Jasmine they might do Mulan or Pocahontas? Also big hero six probably will get a doll and whatever other new films they are. Can't see them lasting after 2016 though.

Also read that the Aurora LE will be more like Alice,Snow white,Ariel a more stylised version of herself than film accurate like the frozen ones. No idea if it's true or not until we see it for our selfs though but if that's the case I'm glad it's pink whereas if it was film accurate blue would be better.

Yes that's true. But they seem to do mostly princess's with a few exceptions. I think they will always release LE dolls but might not be the 17 heirloom collection will probably start a new collection with the princess's at some point down the line.

I hope I manage to get her! And maybe she will aslong as she looks better than Cinderella. Maybe one day we will get LE's of the princess's in their other outfits. I'd like a human Ariel or one of Belle in her winter outfit for example.

I have said this a million times on this forum by this point and I will say it again: I just wanna see the Maleficent doll XD. But I cannot wait to see Aurora's pictures, especially if she is being done in a style similar to Snow White and Alice. If she is gorgeous enough, I may be half tempted to pre-order her, but between the Designer dolls and my other hobbies, I doubt I will be able to afford both her and Maleficent.

I am very interested in seeing what this aurora looks like. I think what we've been hearing is correct. Gradient pink dress, gold hair... Not sure how I feel as I really wanted her to be movie accurate, but the more I think about it the more I realize how plain she'd look.
So having this heirloom look is also good.

I'm still hoping that they'll release a blue one. I imagine the blue more as a exclusive... And maleficent's pictures should be out sometime near October.

I honestly can't say if her popularity will reach the frozen and mermaid ones. Then again, those despicable people who plan on buying a bunch of auroras and then forcefully selling them to collectors in exchange for the frozen ones are to look out for. I hope it backfires on them.

Just FYI I am pretty sure she is also going to be in blue too but yes I agree the Pink one was always going to be the more prominent color of the two but I was expecting something blue just because lately Disney has been releasing a lot of Aurora merchandise where she is in blue.

Also the current line is more blue and no reds and pinks so her in Pink is good for the LE doll line.

So when will the 17" ones end? I don't want them
to. Who do we have left apart from jasmine??

There is still a whole bunch of characters that they can do such as Mulan, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Aladdin, Flynn, the Evil Queen etc and there is always the potential that they will revist certain characters that were done rather poorly e.g Cinderella and Belle. But that being said Disney could just move onto a new limited line of something completely different from the dolls.

It is hard because sometimes people just need to chill, causing panic will not help and will just overhype the dolls and can possibly result in more people panic buying the doll due to the over hype.

I think auroa will be a holy grail in a few years to come like snow white . She is very popular

Yeah no, this is not happening. Ariel is a lot more popular than Aurora and yet she hasn't reached this status, also I would see Elsa reaching a holy grail status before Aurora does, at the moment Elsa is still in hype status. Maleficent maybe, but Aurora no.

This will probably not happen until late September when they announce the dolls for release on Oct 7. So it will be a bit of a long wait, at least until then you will be preoccupied with the other doll releases in the mean time. That is if you are going to get them as well.

Aurora is my least favorite from the princesses, yet I'm quite excited if she has tinsel in the hair and definitely the pink dress. It is such a fresh color in the 17" LE line. Only thing I'm worried about is her face being extremely thin and long...... Weird right. XD but I definitely will only get the pink one, I really don't see reason for the blue for myself, then it'll just be double cos I think they'll be exactly the same just different color if disney does both.

I was quite surprised so many people here are disappointed in the pink, because I thought last spring almost everyone wanted pink, now it's the opposite
