Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

I don't mind that she's in pink but the tinsel:( thought it looked vile on Rapunzel and Alice so not happy it's on Aurora too. For those wanting the blue dress their is a chance it could happen as well and be released as a surprise in Oct. Can't wait to see pictures of Aurora!

The gold steaks on the Rapunzel and Alice doll actually look amazing in person.

Also we knew she was going to be in pink from the get go and well all the dolls to date have had some jewels/rhinestones on them. So other than the highlights in the hair none of this is really new news, that being said though it is exciting that because it means that the doll should be released for preorder within the next two weeks, especially if the stores are now getting the display dolls.

I am actually glad because I prefer her in pink anyway and I think everyone expected it anyway. Hopefully she looks amazing and as long as her hair is ok then I can live with the tinsel. Never seen Alice in person but had Rapunzel and never liked the tinsel as it looks cheap but as long as Auroras bangs/ hair is nice then I can live with tinsel:) I also hope her hair doesn't look hard like Ariels and looks somewhat similar to the designer Briar rose doll.

Cannot wait to see her though & hope we get a leaked picture of Maleficent before October.

Last year for Ariel there were teaser pictures on July 17th on the Disneystore facebook page (a wednesday) with the official announcement on the Friday, so we should be close to official news :)

Ahhh I can't wait for pictures! :)

I figured she would be in pink (even though I was hoping for blue) but as long as she is well done and the dress is a nice material (unlike Cinderella) I will be happy.

And about the gold tinsel...I have both Alice and Rapunzel and I don't mind the tinsel at all...it is hardly noticeable unless you are up close and it is actually really pretty in person.

I'm hearing 17" Aurora info will be officially announced coming Monday/Tuesday(21/22) and pre-order most likely the following Monday/Tuesday(28/29) but that she'll only be in pink??? Hearing that blue will only be available once again as Harrod's set. I thought she was supposed to be released split between blue and pink??

If that is true then this release will be horrible... for me personally.

I hate that they only give you a week's advance on when the date is. My family is deciding whether or not we should go on vacation next week and if we do then I won't be able to pre-order these dolls.
Also, I really hope that they stop it with these Harrods exclusives because I don't think that it's fair to everyone in the US. At least have the same release on Macys or Dillards.

The Frozen Harrods set was released as a commemorative piece of the opening of the Disney Store within Harrods.

So this information is a result of people freaking of just because the Pink Aurora is the only one being released for pre-order.

I think people should just calm down and wait for Disney to release the information next week (it really isn't that long a wait) as there really is no point in freaking out. Again please consider where you are getting the information from before freaking out about it because sometimes it is just a result of a person freaking out based on them reading too much into things.

There are numerous possibilities for this potential blue doll:
- It could be a true surprise release just like Disney used to do in the old days
- It could be released as part of the other dolls to be released in Oct along with the blu-ray release
- It could be released spontaneously to throw people off.

+1

Petite question, sorry if it has been said before. If the pre-order for Aurora is on 28th-29th (or close) is it safe to assume that Europe will be able to order her somewhere after August? It's just so I can plan my money saving.

Europe will probably release her the same time as the bluray release so not until Oct 7. Similar to what they did with Ariel last year. That is unless they change it up this year.

Since Europe already has the bluray, I wouldn't be surprised if they released the dolls with the us. Plus after what happened with the frozen dolls in March, they might start preorders. Only time will tell.

Preorders would be so wonderful, but I highly doubt it....Disneystore EU is always SO unorganized =(

Yeah, I doubt Europe will get preorders. But I'm cool with an announced release and just preparing for it. And what happened in March was due to a timezone difference, I think. Either way, DS EU always crashes when it has a lot of traffic, preorder or not.

I'd actually be happy with a release somewhere around September or October, means I'll still have time to decide whether I want to buy Aurora or not and save up.

I hope the blue will be a true surprise release. As far as where the information were coming from.. I read on Disney Limited Edition Dolls blog that it's been confirmed that "Aurora will be LE 5000 and she will be in her pink dress and that price has gone up to $119.95." Also heard from cms regarding the dates and that some were able to peak at the displays at the stores and she's pink with gold tinseled hair (I think someone posted a few pages back as well) so naturally I feel it's leaning toward all pink and no blue.

I know I'm may be new to the collecting world but really just seeing if there's more information.. no need to be hostile...

Trust me if I were being hostile I would use a lot more aggressive words. I am sorry if you felt that way but I was just trying to emphasize how unnecessary it is to start panicking.

Whilst all the information on the Disney limited edition doll blog is true she doesn't mention anything at all about the blue Aurora doll and it is because nothing has been mentioned that people assume another Harrods set. So no that is not true the blue doll is not a Harrods release.

People just need to calm down and wait for official information to be released rather than jumping the gun and panicking.

Along with all this news that has been floating around there is also news that Disney will officially announce details on Tuesday. So just wait until we hear more official information, it's just frustrating seeing people turn collecting from something fun to a nerve wracking hobby.

I appreciate that Harrods exclusives are harder to get hold of for collectors outside the UK, but they do ship worldwide and don't charge too much for it (much less than DS USA charges to ship to the UK and even better after VAT is removed!) and the USA has had several releases that we haven't, Alice, QoH and China doll for example! HOWEVER I don't think that blue Aurora would be released as a Harrods exclusive, the Frozen set, as many others have said before me, was a just a special set to celebrate the opening of the Disney Store :)

I wish people wouldn't panic, as this is supposed to be a fun hobby! I think it's best to just wait for an official announcement on Tuesday. We might get a blue Aurora along with Maleficent as surprise releases with no preorder but no point worrying as we will not no until later. I think fair enough worry near the release date but not before we even have an announcement lol.

I just can't wait to see a picture now:) Going to try and get her regardless but want to see.
