Soo pretty! Definitely getting her~ tho she doesn't really fit in my collection but who says no to pretty stuff

Hey what is the new price for the dolls in UK? I tried to search but couldn't find except in dollars.
I'm already terrified about the UK site on release day, say what you want, it makes me nervous. *experienced last spring first hand* So I might pre-order her from the US site despite custom charges..

She is beautiful! Even though I prefer Aurora in blue, they completely did the pink dress justice. It came out beautiful. The embroidery is perfect and I love the addition of the cape. Can't wait to add her to my collection.

She is definitely pretty- I love the roses embroidered on the bottom of the skirt panels, but I feel like the bodice is too big/chunky looking for my tastes. I was more curious as to how she was going to be designed more than anything (I wasn't planning on buying her) so I'm sorta glad that she isn't super spectacular to me. I do sorta wish they'd stop using the heavy satin and random rhinestone placement they've been doing for the past few, and the under part of her skirt looks like much nicer material than the top part. The material they used for the last set of Fairytale Designers, specifically Snow White, Jasmine, and Belle, was much nicer looking overall. And the rhinestones were placed to accent the embroidery, rather than in lines along the top of the skirt (which they seem to have done with the new DFDC Briar Rose too- it's not a pretty look, I don't understand why they do it). I don't normally collect the LE 17" dolls, but I think that Snow White and Alice were so superbly done, it's a shame that Cinderella was such a miss and Aurora only seems so-so to me. Would have been nice to have all of the original 3 princesses look outstanding.

Shes so gorgeous! I can't wait to get her. I love her dress a lot but her bangs bother me a bit. I don't like how most of it is straight. I wish they tried to make it more wavy, but I'm glad she at least has her curl.

Oddly enough, I was so excited for this doll. But now that I've seen her, I'm on the fence about getting her. I like all the embroidery they did to her dress, but to me it looks like the dress from the old disney parks dolls-- which I did not care for a lot. I'm totally digging her accessories and the cape though.

She's so pretty!! I would love to see different angles of her though...I just noticed that the cape is actually an extension of her sleeves. I was hoping for blue but the gold and pink look amazing!

Very disappointed and underwhelmed by the doll. Will go more in detail tomorrow.

And is it me or is this like coronation Anna and Elsa? She's got the pleated/folded skirt and the cape with embroidery through the lining.

I have to say I am so, SO please that Disney Store is finally releasing the 17in dolls in the same way as the Designer series dolls. That is, in store one day, online the next for anyone who misses out in store. I was so worried about not being able to get the Frozen dolls released with the bluray because of this but fortunately had no problems there, even though I ended up fifth in line (my store got 11 each). But with each release these dolls are getting more and more popular meaning more demand. Now the only question is, will she still be first come, first serve or will they be doing a lottery system like the Desingers? Hoping we find out soon!

Aurora being an edition size of 5,000 makes sense as she's considerably less popular than Ariel (she's my personal LEAST favourite) but the doll is beautiful and though I prefer the blue, the pink does indeed stand out among the dolls released so far, none of whom have been in pink (a few villains are in red but that's the closest you get). I particularly like the golden rose belt they've given her. Actually, all the golden accents look just lovely against that shade of pink on her skirt. Not sure how I feel about the two different shades of pink used, but she had different shades on her gown in the movie so it makes sense. That said, I do think the tinsel in her hair is a dumb design choice. It made sense for Rapunzel (flower gleam and glow, let your power shine etc.) but on Aurora it's kind of a WTH design decision.

I hope we get more images and information tomorrow!

I totally thought she was wearing a cape like in the movie when the fairies brought her back to the castle wearing one (and then it pops off when Maleficent puts her in a trance), but I just realized you can see her hair down her back so that fabric is definitely part of her sleeves. That's strange, it's like the sleeves on Anastasia's (the Fox animation movie) dress but not executed as nicely. They gave the purple LE Rapunzel bell shaped sleeves as well, even though it's not movie accurate, but in Rapunzel's case the flowy fabric worked better. It's really bothering me now that I know it's not a cape :/

I'm very impressed with her - I love her so much!!

Personally I feel like she's a return to the older 17" dolls - with Cinderella and Ariel the dolls were very much so unoriginal in their look (unlike Snow White, Tiana, Rapunzel, etc). I feel like they really tried to actually re-imagine her outfit a bit instead of just taking her dress and throwing some jewels on it (again, like Cinderella). I would have liked a thinner material for her sleeves - but oh well! Of course I also would have loved her in blue but either way I adore her. I'll definitely be going to pre-order mine on Monday.

Gosh i love her! Can't wait to (hopefully) get her in October (UK resident here). I totally understand the critique re her in the pink and looking like Barbie. But in many ways - isn't that simply how Barbie became? So really its understandable why she looks a tad like Barbie. She "came" out when the most famous and memorable design of the Mattel product flew off the shelves (and they've not really changed since). Does she look cheap like a pink barbie princess doll? In my opinion no.

Ok, so here's what I think of the doll:

I think this doll looks a lot like aurora and her face is very accurate along with the expression. I think the bangs came out well, they should just be more curled. The crown is beautiful from what I can see.

Hair: A real disappointment. I really wanted to see those very thick curls that Aurora has in the movies and this doll only has the small very skinny curls. I got my sister the 2012 singing Aurora and that one had more prominent curls in her hair. Also, the way that the hair is presented in the box is very jarring. It looks horrible. They could have done a much much better job.

Sleeves: I initially thought that her sleeves extended into a very long cape and I was very happy about that idea. But upon looking at other pictures, they look like sleeves on a sleeve, which I think is just ok. I really liked the idea of that long cape and thought that it might have been better if it was that way considering how plain her skirt looked, so it could have wrapped around like Snow White and Elsa. It would have been amazing.

The dress: Another disappointment. I think that this dress was made from the wrong material as it's not fitted well. It looks too big on her, especially the top of the dress and the inner sleeves. They should have gone through the route of Merida and had a very fitted dress. The bodice is by far the best thing about this doll. I don't think that they could have done anything to improve on it. The skirt part is very problematic in my opinion. There was no reason to have the skirt part pleated. The embroidery is just ok, and I really think that they should have made it one giant continuous embroidery going through the top layer of the skirt instead of just repeating the pattern. I think that the gems that they have on there are really out of place and unnecessary. They're also quite ugly cause they're not even colored. The lower layer of her skirt should have been either a darker or a lighter tone of the pink. It would have looked much better.. They could have even used a satin cloth with a very well done pattern.

I think she might also be wearing a ring. not sure. on her right hand.
Overall, the impression that I get from this doll is that they worked really hard on the top part of the dress then suddenly just decided to half *** it all the way to the bottom. Which is a shame as I think it could have been better.

Now on to the box: I really dislike the way they made this box. I think that there is too much going around the window. I've already expressed my comments on how horrible her hair looks inside the actual box. I also really don't like her pose. We've seen that pose on so many dolls, like the latest Anna and Elsa. They could have done a much better job.

Ultimately... As I have mentioned many times, I sometimes think that these 17" LE dolls are just simply not worth $115 (after tax). I mean most of them range from $80 to $90. These dolls are bigger than the 12" ones so adding more embroidery and gems to them is actually easier than the 12" ones.
I don't know if you guys remember but I was very vocal in thinking that both the Elsa dolls were not even worth $80 as I saw them as missed opportunities. And I thought that Ariel's was good but not great. The problem is that I see dolls like Snow White and Alice that truly live up to what this collection could be. Even Rapunzel looks more stunning that this doll. And looking at this Aurora, I can honestly just see a half assed effort of what could have been a very beautiful doll.
Now she isn't as bad as Cinderella and Belle but she unfortunately is not that high up on my list when I list these dolls up. This doll is not worth $120 (before tax) and it's just a shame...

I really like it, I think she is stunning.
I love the medieval look of her sleeves and corset, her golden rose belt, the different shades of this old pink. Her outfit is re-imagined historically, I love that (as I love the Renaissance Rapunzel ♥ and of course,Snow-White ♥).
I don't like so much the rose embroidery on the bottom of the skirt, they are too big for my tastes...but I like everything else ♥
I am really looking for close-up photographies of the crown, the face, the details of the dress ♥

I personally love this doll and couldn't imagine it any better! It's up their with Snow, Rapunzel and Elsa as my favourites. Everyone loves Alice but to me she is awful with a barbie face and too much hair. And deffo not worth the money she goes for. Can't wait to see more pictures. As I think they all look better than the stock photos anyway. Aurora is my favourite princess with Ariel second and I was so disappointed in Ariel but atleast I love the Aurora.

I don't mean to start a war, but I do feel sorry sometimes for the people who design these dolls - they can never win, ever. Overall I think she's a rather pretty doll, as most of the dolls are in their pictures and we'll never know her beauty until she's seen in person, so I don't know if it's fair to judge her on two pictures. I'm sure people work hard at designing these, and truly believe they are really proud of their work, as they should be - without them we wouldn't have these gorgeous dolls. I'm not saying I've never complained over a doll, but sometimes I think people get a little too critical when we've not yet seen them in person. We're not owed anything and I think we should be grateful we even got an Aurora, rather than tear her to shreds because they don't meet personal expectations. I'll admit, to me no doll has lived up to Snow White's beauty, and I wonder if her poor initial sales kind of scared Disney from making more of her high caliber- always a hard call. I'm aware everyone has an opinion, and can share them, I just wonder if people need to be quite so....harsh? sometimes.
Like I said, I don't mean to start a war, and I'm not directing this to anyone in particular, just I've been reading a lot of negativity everywhere about her and I just feel so sad, when this is supposed to be a happy, exciting time to add another lovely doll to our collections. We need to appreciate the dolls more, I think, than just focus on the negatives.

*don't shoot me*

+ 1.... But this has pretty much been the case after every doll release... I already expected it, I personally think she is beautiful and the team did a great job.
