On a side note, i was talking to the ladies at big w today (i know, not the best Disney informants) but they were talking about how Aladdin is due out on the 28th of next month. Did we already know this? Is it possible a Jasmine surprise release could be in store???

What website is that from? Cause Norwegian and Danish subtitles seems to very unusual languages to have subtitles for. They were usually just english, spanish, and french. haha not the you can tell the legitimacy of a DVDs by it's subtitles, but still, they seem strange to me
 

it looks like it came from bluray.com, I am not sure how reliable the website is but I just googled Aladdin Bluray and that was the first site that came up and it looks like it matches all that information above that tht303 posted. So it may be credible to some extent. Here in Australia Aladdin comes out on Bluray next Wednesday the 27th of March (so that is around Tuesday for you guys in the US) however just like they did with Cinderella it is not a diamond edition release.

So who knows they might release the preorder for the Aladdin bluray next week (in the US to sort of coincide with the Aussie release)? Because usually the princess dolls have a preorder and they are usually an edition size of 5000 but I dunno I just find it odd that they are releasing an Aladdin DVD here before the rest of the world?? Usually we are the last to get the releases so it may be that Aladdin is not to be released until next year in the US, which if it is the case we won't be seeing a Jasmine LE until then.

I just read that 'The Little Mermaid' 3D theatrically re-release has been CANCELLED. The DVD will still get released, just no showing...and I am really bummed about that; I wanted to go see it.
 
I really am hoping for a Jasmine release around April time. I mean, I guess the thing that is giving me hope, is the fact that Sephora recently released that Jasmine collection, and it was the same for Cinderella last year. We can't go without a doll until Autumn time, that would be torture.
 

I thought there was a diamond eddition here in Aus for Cinderella... but I could be wrong. But yes, I was at Big W last night and was asking about disney movies (buy 1 get 1 free deals are my blu ray stock up time) and she told me about Aladdin. I was so confused because I had also heard it had been pushed back. I highly doubt, in a million years that we'd get it released and the US doesn't - the US gets everything before we do. I asked her to check a million times and she assures me she's not fibbing. I mean she's only going off her shipment and stock lists, so she's only telling me she sees what has been ordered. So who knows? Someone check a US Big W (lol)... do they have them there??
 

No I don't believe they have big w in the US haha. But yeah I have known that Aladdin was coming out here in Aus for ages as it has been on pre order since around Nov last year. Umm I bought the Cinderella blu ray and it does not have the diamond edition logo on it like my other blu ray DVDs. I can take photos of them and post them here if you like.

But there is a strong possibility that whilst there is no Aladdin info yet they may release the preorders next week because the princess dolls have all had preorders (well at least the main 5000 edition) and with all this hype build up over Aladdin and the fact that we rarely get Disney DVD releases here in Aust before the US, (we are generally in line with the UK releases so it could be that they will be releasing the DVD in the UK soon too) there is a possibility that the blu ray may be up for release in the US soon too. According to the site bluray.com it is expected to come out in spring 2013 which I believe is around now in the US.

Not sure what is going on but it seems that the DVDs releases from Disney are differing now from country to country moreso than they used to. We are still waiting on a Peter Pan release...

Now you mention it...we are still waiting for peter pan. Got Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre-Dame though. You're right about the Cinderella. I thought mine was diamond, but it was just a fancy box with a pillow case lol. I'm looking forward to the movie, I have DVD already (the sing along version haha) but not Blu Ray. I'm more looking forward to the doll. There's no way they would or could miss a doll of Jasmine - she's too much of a popular princess. I'll cry if we don't get one lol.

As long as we still get a 3D Blu-ray release I'm happy with this.
 
Also, can I ask - where do people look to buy these dolls? I mean Snow White and the likes; ones that ebayers like to charge $1500 for. I see people get them for good deals, but I was wondering... Where am I supposed to look? Craigslist? I have before but then it wants me to put in a specific state, and I can't go through every state haha. Any sort of information would be appreciated. It's hard to find them in Aus.
 

I manged to get most if my collection through eBay. The first doll I knew about was Cinderella and managed to get her and all other dolls that were released subsequent to her from the Disney website. So this included Calhoun, China Doll, Merida and Elinor, Tremaine and the Designer Villains.

All the other dolls I got through eBay.
i was lucky as I manged to get Alice and the queen of hearts back when people were selling them as a bundle due to the unpopularity of the queen of hearts.

For snow I found a listing that had a reserve and no one bid on it then at the last second I just kept bidding till I hit the reserve and won the doll.

both Rapunzel and Belle I bought through amazon as they were one of the first dolls I bought so I got them a bit more than what they were selling on eBay due to my lack of knowledge. But at the rate that they are at now I got them at a reasonable deal compared to what they are selling at now.

For the designer princesses I originally just wanted to get ariel and rapunzel as they were my faves but I also managed to win a bid that was selling Jasmine and Snow as a pack so I decided to get Aurora too. After that I just kept an eye out on eBay for great deals and managed to land the remaining dolls at reasonable prices.

I also started to collect anything disney so even purchased the gallery prints and ended up getting 5 out of the 10 of those as well as an LE swarovski stitch which is my absolute favorite buy so far.

I should post some pics of my collection on this forum as in a way I'm sorta proud of my collection hehe.

So most of my purchases were through eBay.

Thanks for that! I just edited the quote so it wasn't as long when I responded . Snow White & Tiana are the two I'm really chasing. I'm not too interested in getting the whole collection just yet - these two in particular, possibly followed by Belle & Alice. As I'm a poor uni student, I cannot yet afford the prices of Snow, but maybe one day I'll get lucky... I've seen her under $1000, but they don't ship internationally. I'll keep looking. I only wish we had something like Craiglist... Gumtree just doesn't quite seem to have as much available. Oh, and it's great to "meet" another Aussie on here - and I don't feel so bad now, Cindy was my first doll too (& then Lady Tremaine), and I'm lucky I have Merida in the post as we speak .

craigslist is intended to be face to face transactions. Someone may agree ship to you but whether you actually receive it is going to depend on the honesty of the person, if you send a check or money order. There is no recourse if you do not get it or if the doll isn't what they said it was. Perhaps if you use Paypal for the transaction it would be better because there is some protection there if you don't receive the item.

I checked the US Amazon for a new Aladdin DVD and it is not there, so it is highly unlikely that it will be released in the US this year. Usually Amazon takes pre-orders on all Disney DVDs. I recall that we heard some months ago that the Diamond Edition DVD was pushed back (again) to 2014. I think that is why we are not getting a princess doll this Spring because of this change, because my CMs said that year the next one would be Jaz, but now they are saying Ariel.
 
I feel as if there will be sumting different and a surprise DVD release with the doll. It's logical as Aladdin was successful and there is no way in hell or heaven that Disney would, could or should let it pass over.

I don't see what Disney would gain from releasing the DVD as a surprise as it is not a limited item like the dolls are but I can see what your mean if they were to release the doll/DVD set as a surprise which is possible. But I would have thought they would have pre orders of the DVD by now if they were going to release it by April.

Who knows I could be completely wrong and they may just change it up completely like you suggested, but if there is one thing I learned from Disney, if it works why try fix it/change it. So I would have thought the LE princesses that disney release would be the same sort of release I.e preorder that is open about 2-3 months before the doll release with an edition size of 5000.

Then again who's to say that they will release a 5000 edition of Jasmine.
 
You know...the end of this year is shaping up to potentially be another expensive doll season. (At least for the avid princess collectors.)
This is assuming that Aladdin is re-released this year and they do make a Jasmine doll. And, it's also assuming that they cash in on "Frozen".
