So it's not a sure thing that they will release the LE Ariel to Europe on Oct 1. We will have to wait for further information from Disney. That wouldn't make any sense.

We should be getting the LE 17" on the day of release in October with the US. We got Merida at the same time even though it still wasn't out in cinema until later so I would be very surprised if this all changes with Ariel. This has been the same with the other dolls in the series, with the exception of the smaller surprise edition like Sgt Calhoun.

Depending on the edition size (I hope it's 8000 as she will be popular) Europe on average gets 5-10% of the available stock as the pre-orders in the US determine how popular the release will be, this is why the US receives the lower edition numbers and Europe gets the 'back end.' I don't care about numbers, it makes no difference to me - I'm happy to have the collectible! :hsd:

In regards to the Europe Blu Ray releases, Disney Germany have revealed they will have it on the 5th September, so I guess other places such as the UK will get it around the same time. It happened last year with Cinderella too, where the UK got it almost a month before the US. Walt Disney Studios Australia also confirmed via their Twitter page last week that it will be released in Australia on the 4th September; a 3D Blu Ray was also confirmed by them. So I guess the doll releasing on Oct 1st won't be too far from the movie releases worldwide. Thanks to @DRJ1828 by the way, for the info on the doll. Really excited for Ariel's turn in the spot light this year :hsd:

Whereas Ariel could go anywhere right about now, I would love to discuss how they should construct an aurora. She shouldn't be in pink but most likely will and blue is more movie accurate so they could money off of that but they are lazy fumbkins so yeahh. And I really there will be any sort of peasent one so yeah.
 
Nice to finally have a doll to look forward to! While my wallet has enjoyed the reprieve, it's also nice to have something coming out after all this time as far as regular releases. To an extent though I am happy that they've slowed down, because I'm also in dire need of space! Ariel is one that I will likely get two of, but of course I will wait until I've seen her.
 
So...am I the only one super ridiculously hopeful/excited and terrified/worried by the fact that there is a litho that is entirely and exclusively Ursula?

On one hand, it's like saying "Yes, Ursula is so wildly popular and profitable that we've produced a litho of exclusively her...AND...will surprise you with an LE doll upon the movie's release" and yet it also says to me "Yeah...Ursula is popular...ish. So here's a litho of exclusively her so that you will have something of her because we aren't making an LE doll of her. Surprise."

Even if they just want to skimp out on making a new mold and make a Vanessa doll instead, I'd be happy.

I'mma be honest. I suspect that the doll will have the GREEN dress since she is marketed in that officially now. Anyone wondering what prop she will come with? I kinda hope she comes with a dinglehopper LOL.
 
I know the doll will probably have a green dress... but I am still hoping for a doll in ANY movie-based outfit. Seriously, I would rather see her in the sailcloth "dress" than that green one. I mean, Ariel has 7 different outfits in this film- can't they pick one of those?
 
It's very likely they will use the aqua/green colored dress for Ariel, due to the fact that they would want to market only Aurora in pink, and the mermaid attire may be hard for them to pose in the box. Same thing happened with the Ariel Designer doll. I pretty much think the green dress will be amazing for her if they choose it. It's basically her mermaid outfit in dress form, which is very creative; it has a lot of potential. I just really hope they spend a lot of time in making her perfect.

This, this and this!!!! I really hope she isn't in green. But if she is she'll be the first to break the iconic image. Belle, snow white, tiana, alice, cimdy, and every other LE doll is dressed in their iconic outfit, albeit not 100% movie accurate or a bit done up. ... But to put Ariel in the green dress, that is not her iconic dress. In fact it would make more sense to dress her as a Mermaid - that's her iconic image, next being the pink dress, followed by the pink dress. She's my favorite, I just want her to be perfect! !!

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of the green dress. It is pretty and all...but it just isn't right. When I first saw it, I thought that it was some fan cosplay-recoloring of the wedding dress. Then I saw more of it up close and realized that it has elements of the wedding dress...but still isn't. I don't know. If Ariel can be in her tail like she was in the movie, then she should also be able to be in her pink dress...LIKE SHE WAS IN THE MOVIE. If the green dress was used in the a sequel or something, I still wouldn't like it, but I would accept it and not think more about it.

I adore gingers in pink. I think it's bold and pretty. I don't really get the stigma against it.

And with Aurora being in pink so that means that Ariel can't be in pink. Well...then what color is Tiana in? I'm pretty sure she's in greens too...or else my kindergarten teacher lied to me.
What? So, the Black woman isn't good enough to be the only princess in Green? What? Merida? Who...Oh...so the Gingers get the green dresses? (Totally just wanted to have a drama queen rant. Please don't take it seriously.) ;)

I personally would LOVE it if they didn't pigeonhole the princesses in one and only one dress. I mean, come on. It would make it more special if you could meet the princesses in different dresses from time to time. And, I think it would be more collectible and fun if they weren't always sold in the same dress. Put Aurora in blue. Put Cinderella in silver. Put Ariel in pink. And DEAR GOD PLEASE put Tiana in that BEAUTIFUL blue dress.
(I truly love and adore Tiana in that blue dress...just in case you couldn't tell.)

I dunno. Ariel makes the most sense to be sold as a double release. Maybe with a tail for the pre-sale and then in a dress either as a surprise release or when they release the sequel and prequel a little while later.
(Random thought...what would you guys do if they decided to sell an Ariel two pack for the price tag of 199.95 like they did with Merida and her mom?)

All I know...I HOPE THEY MAKE AN URSULA (OR VANESSA) DOLL TOO!!!
*I'd prefer Ursula in all her twisted tentacle glory, but if they made a Vanessa in a glamorous version of her shoreline outfit...I'd be happy too.

I think it should be a Ursula/Vanessa two pack but that's only coming from a collector prospective. If it's a two pack, Ariel will be in it rather it's her or Ursula or her mermaid and human form.
 
I personally don't mind gingers in pink when it's done well. I also agree with earlier statements that doing Ariel as a mermaid is a bit complicated. I hate the lack of posing ability, and every time I buy a new Ariel doll I tell myself I won't take her out of her fin but I end up doing so anyway. Somewhere on the dolls appreciation thread I have a picture of one of my classic Ariel dolls in the green dress from Rapunzel's accessory pack, and I think she looks fantastic in it. I've had her in it for almost a year now and I think it works well for her. If it ends up looking like that I won't mind the green dress - but I'd really prefer her boating outfit or something else.

I would absolutely love a Vanessa doll! Even if it's just a classic one - I've been wanting one forever. If they want to slim Ursula down as a doll (ie designer villain), then they should just make her Vanessa.

I definitely don't see them doing the pink dress because that is what Aurora will be in (even though I prefer her blue dress and her peasant dress to the pink one) - and considering that none of the princesses wear purple I think the peasant dress would suit Aurora, and thus they could use pink for Ariel. I know they won't do blue for Aurora just because that's Cinderella's color.
 
Does anyone know if we should be expecting preorders for the LE doll anytime soon? Especially since they have already released the bluray for preorder.

I know last year the Cinderella preorders did not come put till about July however I figured since the bluray is already on preorder then would that indicate the doll preorder to be coming very soon too? Especially since we have not had any dolls (with the exception of china girl) this year at all.
 
I read earlier on the forum to expect pre orders for the doll in July... July 15th I think I read.

As for red heads... I'm one of those and I've never let my hair colour dictate my clothing. So if Ariel wants to wear a pink dress then put her in the pink dress! !! True I'll buy her in whatever, doesn't mean I'll be happy lol. I can't see Vanessa getting a doll, though I'd love it, but I'd also love a large glam ursula... Not a skinny version. Don't think Disney will make that mistake again. I agree I believe Aurora will be in pink (hopefully a surprise release of blue though), but isn't Ariel's singing doll in the pink dress? I know it's no LE doll, but they haven't released many dolls of her in green have they?
 
Hell, I am against it but there could be a surprise two-pack of Triton with her. I know, "umm no." At least with Aurora, we will probably get some sort of blue AND pink combo and a surprise Maleficent. But to honest, I would appreciate it if were her designer one but 17 inch.
 
Does anyone have any speculation as to who could possibly be released before Ariel? I've hoped and speculated left and right on here and don't have anything new to add. But, I'm curious to hear if any of you have any insight or speculation on possible releases. Yeah Ariel is basically unofficially announced and all...but July and October are a LONG time away. I hope someone gets released, even if it's not a doll I want, just something.
